Many of you have suggested to review the NH150 Trekking Hiking Shoes by Quechua, Decathlon. This is why we wanted to test it out ourselves. We used it on the Gidara Bugyal trek, a moderate-difficult Himalayan trek, in snow, slush, and small stream-crossing.
In this video, we share our experience with the shoe in terms of the grip, ankle support, flexibility of the sole, and waterproofing.

One tip from my end. Whatever shoe you buy please don't take completely new shoes to the trek. Yuo need to break the shoes. Wear it for few weeks or few months before. Another important thing is lace up your shoe very tightly around your ankles. It you save your toe-nails while descending. :)

That's a good tip! Thanks for sharing! :) We recommend at least 2 weeks to break into new shoes.

I have this shoe and has used it in snow conditions in Kedarkantha trek in December-January( with microspikes) and Sandakphu trek in March and thereafter in few other treks as well and it is perfect in terms of grip, waterproofing, looks, etc and most importantly budget friendly and value for money for beginners..
Update: Still using it for treks after almost 4.5 years.. The sole is still good, the waterproofing is not working anymore and the colour has faded, the skin has got bruises from boulders and rocks in the treks..

I have done the Sandakphu Phalut and Kedarkantha treks with this shoe in a span of 2.5 yrs. In the Sandakphu summer trek, this shoe felt like an extension of my feet and gave immense grip, and didn't let me slip even once. But in Kedarkantha, I slipped a few times on black ice trails. The microspikes damaged a part of the sole, and one shoe sole also came apart after the trek. So, from my experience, this shoe is totally great for long summer treks, and for snow portions, but you have to be careful about grip on icy portions.
Waterproofing is top-notch, my feet weren't wet even after waddling and playing in the snow, and after the Kedarkantha summit trek of 10+ hours. Cushioning and ankle support are also great.

I have an older version of this shoe and was informed by my trek lead on one of my IH treks that it is fine in terms of ankle support, flexibility and cushioning but one major drawback is the grip is not very good. Having done a few treks, I would agree with that. Not sure if they have fixed this in the current version, but my shoe has the exact same pattern.

How are SH-100 X snow ? For a 6000m+ trek ? I already have MT-600. But during the trek it was extremely painful may be size issues. There are boots in men's collection that are for 3000inr with -11 degree Celsius (moving ) and -20 walking. However the same are not there in women's collection and the option close to it is Sh100 x snow shoes for 4000inr ( -3 degree & -11 walking). Kindly pls guide if they are ok for the purpose ?

I have one query: i regularly do trekking in Gujarat and Maharashtra. i have Quechua (MH 100 mid wtp e vm brown) shoes purchased from decathlon. which is comfortable and grip is fine. but it fails on wet rocks. it slips on wet rocks. there is not any grip on wet rocks. i see all shoes in decathlon have same material of outer sole (i think hard rubber sole). while i have sports shoes and it works well on wet rock but not comfortable for 4-5 hours of trek. it has soft sole. can you explain about it and tell me which shoes is best for wet rocks?

I'm from the hills and have used this shoe at least once a month for a year. The waterproofing on the shoe is great considering its price but sadly the shoe didn't last me for more than a year as the rubbery material used on the shoe started tearing up slowly per use. I used the shoe for some light trekking and passing along streams, but considering the distance I traveled on them, they didn't last as expected. Also the outer soles look quite grippy but they are the opposite to its purpose as they are more slippery on hiking trails as compared to most of my running shoes. Also if you are looking for a hiking shoe that will last for years, I would consider some other brand than Quechua as I have owned multiples of them in different variants.

Amazing pair of shoes, great grip
You only have to avoid heavy mucky with a lot of water, as some water may seep in a bit steadily.

Idk I was about to order Sh100's but after looking at the reviews on official site I decided to get the Adidas Questit Mid's as some people claiming Sh100's to be very slippery and got there feet wet in 10min on snow. I think the quality is not consistent with every batch of stock. Maybe you're lucky with your batch!

@@karankaul1639 Had been to spiti recently in the winter, almost everyone had a Quechua
I think its also depends on the way its used, some snow can definately creep in a bit from the ankle area.
Black ice everyone needs to be careful.
It's a fantastic shoe for the price.

@@GoanKonkaniSongs Okay actually I visited the store and found out the specifications of grip of SH100 mentioned is very low too so I ordered the Adidas QuestIT Mids as it was on about 50% off and after that costed same as SH100. I have to start my journey from Delhi so SH100 would also be very hot for the climate here so Adidas's shoe would be all round better option for me I think.

@@Prince-jh4hl Oh they are great. I did Amarnath Yatra with these. No slipping, fair grip . Couldn’t check water proofing though. But definitely sturdy and highly comfortable. I wore them continuously for approximately 18 hrs but my legs overall felt great.

Informative video. Can you suggest some socks as well? I have extremely sweaty feet (so much so that I have stopped wearing chappals outside home completely as I slip wearing them even in winter). As I sweat a lot, smell is also an issue. Can you share tips regarding maintaining the shoes too like cleaning and storing ? TIA.
