While I have it, I haven’t had the need to since it’s not a bargain, which is what most subscribers look for. Been prioritizing the mics within more people’s reach. But perhaps in the future!
Hi, I use the Rode PSA-1, though it’s a bit pricey. There are many alternatives that should be able to handle it, because it isn’t that heavy. Ulanzi seems to be making great value-for-money mic arms nowadays.
Great question, Vince! I think those mics are close, but it's the Maono DM30 that's given me a fairly passable trailer voice. :) Software comes into play, for sure.
But that's with some quick testing. You can't go wrong with any of them since they've got decent bass response. It'll then now boil down to vocal technique, mic placement, and the preamp you're using, in that order. :)
@@DaveSoltura Awesome! thanks Dave. Would be great if you can also show how to make the most out of the sound from budget mics using EQs and stuff for our budget option hunting friends.
@@DaveSoltura Because of this comment I think I wanna get a Maono now (tho I still love the K688 but I got sold with the sampling rate of 192kHz/24bit) hahaha
@@DaveSoltura Thank you! In the Philippines, they have a store selling the Fifine K688 for nearly the price of the Maono PD100, so I was deciding between the two.
@@timaragon Awesome! I think I did see that but was reluctant. But if you think it's legit, getting a K688 for about the price of the PD100 would be a steal!
I haven't tried the the HD-300T, but it sounds looks likea good choice for your application. This PD100 is XLR only, so you need to buy an audio interface with it. If you're on a budget, the HD-300T might be all you need. :)
@DaveSoltura I'm looking at 3 mics currently (well it boiled down to 2 but still want insights) The maono pd200x Fifine am8 Fifine k688 These are the only current choices and I'm still torn between the pd200x and the AM8

I ordered this mic before your video was even over! THANK YOU! Should be a huge upgrade from my old CAD u37 mic.
Awesome! Hope it helps! :) Enjoy your new mic!
Love the sound of this mic! What audio interface do u use on this vid? Thanks!!
That's a good looking mic and sounds good. Amazing what we are getting these days. We are spoiled.
We're definitely spoiled!
Have u test the maono pd100x, if yes is it any different
Should i buy maono dm20 or this maono pd100u
How would you recommend this for recording vocals and acoustic guitar..
Pd100 vs dgm20 vs dm30? Why? (the price is not a concern)
I think the Maono PD100 is even better than the Behringer XM8500. :) What are your thoughts on the mic?
if i want to buy a mic for asmr especially whispering, which budget mic would u recommend? thanks

pd100u or fifine am8
Is this a good mic to keep at arm's length? I'm trying to up my WFH setup and hate having a mic next to my face.
You would need to have a lot of gain with your audio interface for that. This isn’t the first mic I’d think of for that use case.
Is a pre-amp necessary for this microphone?
Yes.
Tempting! Would you recommend the PD100 over the K688 for guys like us with scrawny voices?

Do you prefer this over the Fifine K688?
Slightly prefer the K688 sound and the convenience of having a usb mic for travel. But for being half its price, I do really like the PD100 as well!
