What a fantastic ridge climb! I live in ma. and used to work 4 on, 4 off so almost every 4 days off I was hiking! Loved that area and was hiking in Franconia about 3 weeks before the old man fell. Great video. Going to see what else you guys have bveen up to.....
You guys always find such beautiful places to hike and explore. I'm sure that community's heart sank when the old man's profile crumbled. Nice that they were able to recreate the experience somewhat. Yes, great idea to visit in the fall. I'm sure all of those trees are fantastic with their full autumn splender! And yeah, Boise Rock. Definitely sounds like Star Wars!!! LOL
Wow what a pretty place. One of these days we will make our way up that way. I love how your furry friend is so eager to get along the trail. I look forward to the next one.
We really enjoy staying at Lafayette Campground. Access to the trail heads for the ridge loop hike is just a short walk from the campground. The ridge trail is amazing!!!
Thanks!! We were pretty apprehensive because we enjoy the freedom of not having to book any campgrounds out West, but for the most part we're enjoying the NE!
The hike was the Franconia Ridge Loop! A grueling 8+ mile with 4k ft of elevation gain, but most of it is along the alpine ridges with 360 degree views! Ughhh!! _raises fist at sky_
Definitely flatlanders. There's some shorter walks where you will see much more impressive views. There's a short walk just above the falls on Kancamagus Highway it will take you to a small lake and you'll feel like you're the only person in the world that's ever seen that Lake
Go to Chicora Lake and swim out to the middle of big lake and there's a sand dune you can stand on everybody will think you're treading water for hours and hours
I am sorry but the profilers do not do the Old Man justice. I just look up and miss an old friend. Artist Bluff is fun for the hike but not for the view. If you are going to do the Franconia Ridge Loop in the Fall, pack for Winter. You will be exposed to the weather for a couple of miles. It can and has snowed on the Ridge in October.
Were you able to see the old mans foot?!
No I didn't catch it

Thanks Michael! Such an awesome place to relax.

Great video and information! The northeast is the one area of the country we haven't traveled. We hope to soon!

Been coming up to the Whites for 2 decades. Still so much more to do.
No doubt!
Great shots and info:)
Thank you!!
What about lonesome lake. Cool little lake halfway up the mountain
Oh good tip!!!
Whites are my favorite place in the world. But you can't depend on the weather ❤
Looks so peaceful at all the places! What was the hike you didn't get to do that you wanted to do?

Did you go to the flume gorge? I thought that was very interesting.
We did not! They aren't dog friendly so we didn't go.
As artist, what area of New Hampshire would you suggest I consider moving to?
That's such a tough one to answer! We really loved the area around Franconia.

lol based on one region of one town? Trust me, they don’t want people like you visiting anyway.
