    I can’t wait to color my Sisterlocs!! I colored before my installation and I just celebrated 1 yr locaversary on Nov 1st with fine thin low density hair. My loctician told me to wait until 1.5 yrs to color my locs 🥲. I have a very loose curl pattern hair texture with curly Loc ends. I’m being patient but the gray strands are driving me crazy. As a loose natural I’d color my hair every two months, so I’m use gray coverage.

    Happy Birthday 🎉🎈 I like the wine but prefer the blonde, it brightens your face and coincides with your personality. The color info was very helpful. I’m 2 1/2 yrs into the journey with soft fine hair, low density and loose curl pattern. I have a few blonde streaks on my mature strands. Thank you for the best loc channel I’ve found thus far 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

    Great advice & video, even after 2 years of having my Diy interlocks I’m still learning so much 👍🏾 Both are nice but I prefer the new colour for the autumn definitely just looks so rich & deep in shade. ☺️ I’ve just noticed a tiny bit of thinning on my front edges due to hairs growing away from locs I find it hard to keep them in place. I could never go as long as you do without a retie the locs woul fall out! 🤦🏾‍♀️ Do you have any advice for taking care of edges specifically please it would help a lot. Thank you 🙏🏾

    • @EnToiBeauty
      @EnToiBeauty  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      People with hair that grows out of the loc, I say wrap the loose hair around the loc before retightening the loc to pull it in. It helps to strengthen the base. Also, stay within the 4 to 6 weeks reti but not too tight to the scalp. Too much tension isn't good either. Hope that helps. When I have a client who's comfortable with being on camera and I have time to do a video, I will do one for ya.

    I read somewhere that you can leave hair color and developer in your hair for up to 45 minutes. Has anyone with mature locs ever allowed the color and developer to stay in their hair for 40-45 minutes? If yes, how did it affect your hair.? What was the outcome? I've been locked for 4.5 yrs and my hair is below my shoulders and naturally very dark. Darkest brown right before being black. Looking for tips on how to lift so, I can get some color. I'm absolutely against using bleach.

      Hi. I tell people to color before their install and usually most people will ask you to wait until your hair is locked to touch up. But I usually color my clients every retie to touch up the grey. As long as the ends are protected. Here's a video where I did color root touch up on new locs th-cam.com/video/5nJBF2qpnBE/w-d-xo.html

    I colored my hair before installation. But the color has kept fading upon each retie: I get washed on retie day. My locs are 4 months old. The fiery red has faded to a really light shade that resembles a nutriency deficiency ailment. What do I do? Can I dye my hair black or will I be messing up my locing process

    • @EnToiBeauty
      @EnToiBeauty  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Was the color a permanent, demi or a rinse color? Red colors are known to fade over time but the fade is much quicker when it's a demi or rinse. Other factors that will cause your color to fade is using a Clarifying Shampoo, hot water, etc. And I'm assuming since your locs are new, she's probably using some type of Clarifying Shampoo which is recommended for new Locs but doesn't help the color. You're in a tight spot but talk to your Loctician to see what she suggest since she's the one working with your hair. It's hard to advise on hair I can't see but I would recommend not to color for now. Allow your hair time to loc and once you're loc, you'll have more options/flexibility.

    I love your locs and all the information you share. I can not wait to color my hair! I’m almost 8 months in and I’ve worn color since forever, I’m budded on 90% of my hair….. do you think I can cheat and color my roots only?

    • @EnToiBeauty
      @EnToiBeauty  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Absolutely! If you're still banding during your shampoo, then color your roots then when you're getting ready to shampoo the color, band the ends to protect them from unraveling.

      I really like your channel! As a Sisterlocks consultant, I have never had anyone dye their hair before their first retight. Well...until now, that is...lol! I had an install client who came to her first retightening appointment with her hair colored after I told her not to until 6 months to a year due to her loose curl pattern. She talked about how much she loved her natural curls reflected in the Sisterlocks®️ but complained that she was self conscious about the grey "ghost grid"...lol! I have done installs on women with beautiful gray hair and they resisted the temptation to dye it and they have 5 years of glorious grey Sisterlocks©️
      I know that usually after dyeing your hair, conditioners are used to counteract the effects of drying, but since she cannot use heavy oils or conditioners it would go against the natural interlocking process and be counterintuitive.
      In an effort to avoid breakage,
      I had to carefully separate them and coax stray hairs back into the locks from each other which added to the time, making the front locs and smaller locs more fragile. She says she's going to keep dyeing it brown. Any advice to maintain the health of her locs without compromising their integrity?
