If it wears out that's either a vitamin deficiency or your nails are wet too often. I just file mine and they never wear out. You have to file them to the correct angle, though, otherwise they'll split.
James Williamson from the Stooges,- who was actually a Blues/Country studio musician and song writer before joining that band,- used fake nails on key fingers (which were also sometimes painted black).Not the only one to employ this trick, it works well, especially if you bite your nails, or otherwise can't grow them naturally for whatever reasons.
The thorpy is optical compressor good for pairing with drive pedals because it is clean and transparent. Cali76 is FET compressor and adds beautiful rich color to clean tones but I dont like it for medium to high gain tones because it raises the noise floor a lot. If you love clean tones Cali76 is the way to go. But i also have an optical compressor for drive tones.

How does this compare to a Cali76?
Christian Pescado I chose those over the Cali76 for rock and harder genres. Cali76 seemed focused on funk/country sparkly treble vibes
