Hello everyone! I wanted to give you a heads up that there's been a significant update to the Crkbd repository, starting from version 4.0. As a result, all files related to previous versions have been relocated from the main branch. If you're still working on PCBs from earlier versions, don't worry! You can access those files using the following link: github.com/foostan/crkbd/tree/fbb146fe372ce8b2b1543ced67367bf19e910945/
I wanted my arduinos to be "hot swappable", since the usb is super easy to break and I never managed to find some Mill Max Hot Swap Sockets that ship to my country, maybe it's easier to find nowadays.
@@rafaeldelboni I was just rewatching this awesome video and I was wonder what is substance you clean the flux with? Alcohol? Is this good solder wire www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002517103076.html?
@@rafaeldelboni What is the one you use? Maybe a suggestion for your next time is to leave affiliate links to the equipment you use so people who are noobs like me can buy through them.
I used 0.5mm they fit exactly on the female pin header, they are much more stiff that using diode legs, but they still bend when you need to remove the promicro from the socket, I will do some tests with bigger diameters but 0.5mm fits really well.
Thank I'm really glad to hear! I always try to create a companion document for each video where I list the parts I used: github.com/rafaeldelboni/buildlogs/ But feel free to ask if you have anymore questions :)
HEy there. Im so new to soldering diodes. Sooo. Do u think a beginner can do it? Because i have soldered key Switches and kailh hotswaps before. But.. not sure about diodes cuz they look intimidatingly small
They are exactly like the kailh hot swaps, but small, be sure to have some good tweezers help you along the way, practice holding them with the tweezers a little bit before and you good to go :D
For "Cleaning the flux" does that mean flux or water or a special solution to dissolve the flux? It looks like water but I'm reluctant to use water anywhere near electronics
Hey hello! Thanks for the interest :) I'm do sell some keyboards, but I'm in Brazil and I don't think the shipping will worth, but If you search in reddit you can find some to buy or people to build for you

Is that ASMR everything talks about? Love it!
Very clean build sir, will be building my first soon, will be following your video as a guide
Thanks! I would love to see the results :)
Amazing job on the building process, definitely going to get one of these kits!
19:16 is so satisfying
Good Job!!! Although it was painful to see how you use cooper wire instead of proper header pins.

nice video, what solution do you use to clean the flux?
Thanks! I used isopropyl alcohol
@@rafaeldelboni thanks, and duh... what I was thinking, is also mentioned in the video haha thanks
What tape did you use for sealing the sockets when doing the pins?
Just normal masking tape :)
Grate job mate. What is the thing you apply before you start soldering? 15:31
Hey thanks! It's a flux pen, an liquid that helps the soldering going to the places we want they go. Hahaha

@@frozen_tortus thanks again for your kind words, I use Isopropyl alcohol for cleaning electronics in general :)
Never tested my self this solder, but it has a good melting point, I think you should give it a try haha

Hi, I would like to know how many millimeters is the wire you use for the pins of the pro micro? 0.5 mm or 1 mm . Thanks

Thank I'm really glad to hear!

What solder are you using? I mean thickness and % of Sn/Pb
Hey hello! I use the most common one here in Brazil it's specs are:
Alloy: Sn63/Pb37
Diameter: 1mm
Nice, I want to build one, what version of corne did you build? (light, chocolate, classic, cherry)
I did built the Cherry V2, Cherry V3 and Chocolate V2, you can check the videos in my channel :)

Thanks, about the pen is similar to this one:

@@rafaeldelboni Thank you for your quick reply, you've made the easiest to follow build log

Hi Rafael I used tye same alcohol but the board is know sticky. How did you avoid this ? Thank you for answer.
@@yezid1058 just wait a little bit more to the alcohol evaporated completely, mine stayed sticky for sometime as well
7:42 what is that leg from?
It's a copper wire, but you can use diode legs as well
Do you need to solder for this build or is it optional?
Yes, you need to solder, unless you buy a kit pre-soldered.
Did you get all the diodes around the correct way first time?
I'm have to redo some of mine
Great video
Hahaha, luckily I double checked before I soldered both sides, but not only I had one in the wrong way I also forgot one.
Thanks!
