    Welcome to Germany! After 25 years of going back and forth, I moved full time to Germany from Boston 6 years ago. Best thing that ever happened to my life. I think you are going to like it here.

This Sunday I’m going back for the 3rd time and I’m wicked excited! Germany just feels like home and you are so right about the pace feeling so chill!

    I know exactly what you mean :) I had the same feeling when I visited a friend of mine in south carolina in 2009 for two weeks :) I came back in 2010 and stayed for 6 months and rented a car and got to explore way more of the country. It just felt right somehow. Greetings from Bayreuth, Germany

    I totally understand you finding Germany less stressful than the United States. There are a lot of reasons for that, but mainly Germany being a social democracy (as in e-hem socialism), the society is a lot less stressed and thereby happier. I think Americans are more likely to have anger issues than Germans. That's not saying that Germans don't get angry, but they also are open to debate (as opposed to open aggression).

    • @MattSuozzo
      @MattSuozzo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most Germans I met were pretty laid back, focused on enjoying life (and debating who makes the best beer). I really dig this lifestyle, very different from the NY Hustle I have been accustomed to my whole life.

    The "Helles" is a fine beer but you have to try "Weissbier" while staying in Bavaria as well.
    But never drink "Weissbier" out of the bottle...always from a glas...because the yeast is depositing at the bottom of the bottle....that´s why it has to be poured out into a glas...but don´t pour out the beer at once..the technique is to let a big sip in the bottle and then pivot the bottle with the last sip in order to detach the yeast from the bottom of the bottle again and then finish the pour out process by putting the last sip with all the yeast into the glas and the yeast will then distributing evenly again in the fresh poured glas of Weissbier.

    Americans seem to like Germany, that's nice 😃 Most seem to think Germany consists of southern Germany only, though, like Bavaria. But there a people living in the middle and in the north of the country also, believe me! 😂

    I only just found your channel - welcome to Germany (belatedly)!
    I hope your experiences will be positive and exciting! :)
    Do you have support, i.e., people who can tell you about the quirks and strange ways of Germans?
    There are a few Americans who have also taken the plunge, have moved here and are documenting their lives on YT:
    Our Story to Tell (in Grafenwöhr), My Merry Messy Life (near Ruhpolding), American Guy in Germany (near Rosenheim), Jay Stephan (in Ingolstadt, if I remember correctly), True North (who, incidentally, lives in Regensburg!), and of course NALF (in Schwäbisch Hall, football player) are their channel names in case you're interested. There are many more.
    Weird how, aside from NALF, they/you all live in Bavaria!!! =D

    Even with the COVID situation, the number of inquiries by Americans to foreign embassies and consulates wanting information regarding emigration are at an all-time high. Some of the countries of choice? Canada. France. Spain. Sweden.

    Welcome, anyway there is a difference between moving and working in a foreign country and being a tourist. As a tourist I fell in love with the States, worked on getting a Green Card stayed for 21 years and returned to Germany. Have fun on your trip. May I suggest Berlin for the History, Hamburg for fun ( Reeperbahn ) and Wolfsburg for the Cars ( Autostadt ). Just to name a few.
