  • This video is about how to make an Easy Loom Knit Cowl. We are using the basic ewrap cast on, ewrap stitch and the basic bind off.
    You will need a 41 peg loom, a yarn tool, tapestry needle and bulky yarn. I am using is Bernat Softee Chunky Yarn, #6. The color is Dark Green.
    This project is beginner friendly and doesn't take much time at all! You can customize it anyway you want. I used one skein of yarn but you can use two or three to get your desired size cowl length.
    I would love to see your finished products.
    You can find me on Facebook at: The Mom Writer The-Mom-Writ... and

    WOW,WOW,WOW how easy you made it look! Thanks I have been wrangling with holding and keeping my loom in the proper place I now see a few tricks. First is holding up-side down then how easy you make the bind-off. Keep them coming👏 ❤️ 🌈

      I made my neck warmer on the green loom (hat loom) and wondered why it wouldn’t fit over my head, would this fit a child? I was thinking of closing the end to use as a slouch hat and fold over the brim. I’m getting the bigger loom tomorrow to try it again and see if it’s better. I love the bind off it’s so easy and makes such as nice edge!😍

    How do I make my cast on's tighter on a circular loom? I have found with every scarf I have made so far, one edge is loose and my cast off side is tight and how it should look.

    Hi Gina-it is Jill again! When you are binding off, I just want to make sure, so I need your help again! Is it a e-wrap binding off or just putting the yarn in front of the peg and knitting over. I want to make sure. I have replayed many times to watch but still need your guidance. Thank you so much. I am determined to get this and then show you a picture of it. Please tell me if writing at this time is waking you up or if you get the message when you check and then open it. I am new to all this technology. I don’t know what part of the world you are in and i have some nights where I am up late loom knitting away, but don’t want it to awaken you at all! --Thanks again!

    • @GinaLay
      @GinaLay  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Jill, No worries! It’s not a true e warp, You will just wrap the yarn in front of the peg and knit over. 😊I believe in you and I can’t wait to see your cowl. You aren’t waking me at all. You can write any time. I am EST in cold OHIO. 🥶 Keep up the good work! 💖🎄

    can you tell me what loom i would use to make a scarf for a 3 and 8 year old and how long it should be,would love to watch your video on this because i am a learner,ty so much

    • @GinaLay
      @GinaLay  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! Sure thing. You can use a circular loom for a scarf or a
      rectangular loom. The general rule of thumb for the eight year old is no
      more then 36 inches. I would make the three year old smaller so there
      is no chance of tripping on it. What kind of looms do you have? A scarf
      is on deck for my videos. :-) Thank you for watching! I appreciate your kind words.

    Hi Gina-i love your demonstration videos. For this cowl, for the BOTTOM BORDER, I did knit-e wrap and then purl for each complete row-I did 6 rows like that for border. Then for the CENTER PART, of cowl I did, one complete row of only knit-e wrap, alternating with the next complete row, of only purl. And then finally for the ENDING BORDER, I did knit-e wrap then purl for each complete row-did 6 rows like that. My question is can I now use the exact binding off you did for your cowl, or would I have to bind off another way? I hope you answer! Thanks again for your amazing videos. I learned to loom knit watching your videos. I will wait to bind off until I hear from you! And much thanks for the work you put into your videos to create loom knitters such as me!
