Are you just gonna be in Tokyo? I visited Osaka and Tokyo briefly when I was stationed way down in Okinawa 20 years ago as a United States Marine. It was definitely a culture shock for me, but enjoyable nonetheless.
I'll mainly stay in Tokyo and Kyoto with some day trips to other locations and cities. Though with the heat going on I need to make sure my body can keep up... You were in Okinawa? How was it? I've never been there. A few years ago I lived in Tokyo for one year with a study abroad program. It sure took time for me to adjust to the culture etc but it was the most fun time I've ever had :-)
@@Minamitoku Depending on where you go, it is very American-ized with the presence of all of us military folks. There are some really remote areas that are beautiful and quiet, especially down in the southern tip, but the further north you go, the more military bases and people you're going to see. Definitely different than Tokyo not just scenically but lifestyle wise.
