  • Here's another pointless video to bore you with. Lets see if we can save this camera from the trash. Nothing to see through the viewfinder due to broken pentaprism. How about fitting a waist level finder? God help us all.

Hint: find a ME Super parts camera and use the prism from it. It works perfectly and does not require the two stupid shims Canon used on the original prism. I discovered it from swapping parts I had laying around. But hey, looks like what you are doing works. ;)

Hey thanks for the tip! That's good to know for the future. I have a pentagon waist level finder to replace it with. the current 3d printed one is a bit ugly. The problem is keeping the light meter working as the pentagon finder colapses down and hit's the light meter mechanism. I'm thinking of using wire and pulleys to divert it. Thanks again for your hint. i rather like the WLF on the canon though. It certainly gives a different perspective.

@@davehyper7835 Your modification is pretty cool. I could see it as great solution for night sky shoots. I think all those FT's have mirror issues. I have two. Meters are a bit odd. I did my best to adjust them for a 1.4v battery.

How is it without the 3d printed part do you have any pictures of how it looks looking through a lens

@@anthonythomas9553 Hi, It's hard to get a photo without the 3d printed bit as the too much light falls on the focus screen and any image gets washed out. it would be near impossible to use without the 3d printed part.
