Fabulous Cattleyas......they are all so beautiful. I must say though that, after keeping cattleyas over a long period of time, my heart is still with the Mahina Yahiro."ulii". I had one several years ago and it was stunning......although the picotee is also a stunner. Thanks for showing us these plants.......take care and again thank you, Ed
I love your Cattleya trianae. My normal one is going to bloom this year. I made the mistake of splitting it the previous year. I have a purple Cattleya Mahina Yahiro 'Ulii'. I would love a picotee type. It is one of my favourite fragrant orchids. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful holiday season.
Wow all of these are sooo beautiful 😍 I have just received my very first Trianae var coerulea and I have not been able to find any in depth care tutorials online, just a couple standard cattleya type care sheets. I was hoping you could tell me when it will start sending out a new flush of roots? I have a new growth just emerging, maybe around a cm in length. I’m finding it really difficult to see if there are new root nubbins swelling as it is planted/mounted on coconut shell and I would love to repot when it’s the right time and avoid to much set back. In the care sheets I did find I see that she roots before blooms, so at what stage pf growth should I estimate the root nubbins to start appearing? Now at the same time as the new growth Is coming out or when it’s a few inches tall? Thanks so much
Where did you get that Mahina Yahiro??? The Mahina Yahiro is on the top of my search list, I know there are 3 type: Mishima, Ulii and Julie. But yours is way better than the usual ones!!
My plant is a mutation of Ulii. From Shogun Orchids. They are not cheap! Mine is getting big and may divide soon. Email me (see ‘about’ section) if you are interested in possible future division.
Just so beautiful. keep up the good work
