9:31 100% when someone just flicks up from the point it goes in all the time. Then I'm sitting there taking the best shots possible and their goalie stops everything. 25 shots to 10 and I'm losing 2-1 every time hahahaha
i can shoot all over the goalie within 10 ft or more and nothing goes in...when i shoot a one timer or slap shot from 20 ft out.... half of them go in or more.
I feel the same way about sports as video games as I get older. I have my favorite teams, but I don't lose any sleep or care almost at all if they don't win compared to when I was younger.
I would love to see the graphics of today with the play style of 14, 15 and legacy where you can build your character how you wanted to build it. Where stick blade curve was a factor skate blade radius was a factor. Strength weight height speed balance and so on.. not all this threes and pond and all this other hockey. Back to the basics real hockey.
The glitch shots were figured out so early, never fixed and broke the game. Offensive Xfactors need huge nerfs, goalies don’t adapt to the same high stick or short side glitch shots over and over again. One tee and bigger tipper requires no skill to succeed with. Stupid buggy looking skating styles have taken over the game making players so bugged out you can’t hit them and your do or die poke check is insanely unrealistic. The most arcadish hockey game I’ve ever played. We need an NHL 2K sports game again 🙏🏻
ive gone back to playing NHL '19 BAP. it was the last year with Mike Emrick doing play by play and the BAP is straight forward with no pointless and repetitive conversations between EVERY game!
I swear they put in all the pointless convo to slow people down on be a pro... Like i don't want to stop simming to have a convo with a teammate about going to the zoo again...
EA switched developers 2 years ago for NHL 24 and 25 with the frost bite system. Since the switch the game is terrible and they went more to arcade style then realistic. Hopefully EA gets gets back to a realistic game and reason last two years have had horrible reviews and most people don’t like it
I did the same with MLB the Show... I love baseball, but the ultimate team formats are exhausting and repetitive. I've been having a blast on World of Chel, so much more relaxing than HUT
D to D one timers completely broke online. The Superstar difficulty CPU just chase your tail and spam hit you. The goalies are freaks making every save from the slot but they’ll let up muffins from far away. Line changing is broken. There is so much wrong with the gameplay and I think a lot has to do with the CPU. But the fact everyone spams D to D one timers is not fun at all and makes online not enjoyable. If they fix that I think they’re in better shape already…it goes in 70% of the time if the puck gets through traffic
@@mr198221 I honestly can use a difficulty above Superstar, I find myself easily winning games. I just CANNOT stand the CPU following you and continuously spam shove you. My controller is non stop vibrating the entire game lol. They don’t even poke check anymore! I can write a novel about what else is wrong but it’s just the same or new issues every year with this game
they screwed with the skating so much in 24 and 25.. you can't skate and stickhandle at top speed, the protect the puck change is dumb and bumping people off the puck is nearly impossible in situations where it should be easy to get the puck. the controlling of your players was so much better in NHL 23
I mean tbh the whole one timer thing ruined the gameplay. Half my game is spent trying to prevent a d to d pass or a corner forward to weak side d pass. That’s the entirety of the offense that 50% of people play. And then I’m sitting in the lane, the puck goes right through my 90 victor hedmans feet, boom clap top corner.
I've learned for NHL I let the other team take the first 5 shots of the game and then my goalie plays amazing the rest of the game while his goalie lets in the easiest shots
Goals are The same in every game. My problem is the same for decades. I mainly play offline for NHL and Madden. When it comes to my seasons. I do play online sometimes. But it's offline I hate. It's because the AI reacts the same game by game for both sports. It's super hard to win. They don't make mistakes liek humans and its hard to score goals and keep them from scoring. They score the same way almost everytime. It's so annoying. In Madden, don't even get me started on getting TDs and play D against AI. Super hard and annoying.
4:40. You're asking for too much here. First of all, there is no competition. 2K quit years ago. That would solve a lot. Second of all, you cannot please everyone, so with 1 game in town, we may never get the hockey game we need. I started way back, with NHL '97, when there was no online!
NHL 97 for PlayStation was something else! I was excited for the next gen after playing on sega with NHL 94 95 etc... NHL 97 was super cool to see the graphics and it played really good for the first next gen hockey
I used to only play as myself in EASHL. HUT got me around December of last season. It's January and I'm only a level 10 with my player, thanks to HUT 😂
i'm not bothered when i lose to people who are more skilled, but it does bother me that there are OP tactics that get exploited...and when there's an insane imbalance in CPU goaltending
@@cmz5847 It takes like 10 minutes to learn D2D OT and then you can win every game. But for people who want some variety they get penalized for trying to do dekes and do cool goals. Either make everything OP or everything average, Having like 2 ways that are just so overpowered to score easily kills the vibe.

NHL as a game can be incredible, it has simply not strived to be and neglect has led to degradation

Stumbled on this podcast looking for a Sleeves video. Feel your pain on the current state - nice pod guys!
NHL25 is soulless
Most ea sports games are

Sleeves for Mayor 🥸

Superstar difficulty is borderline assault! I only play WC for the reward path to go quicker. I'll take my .300 winning percentage there!

the NHL franchise is the poster child of what a game looks like when it gets 0 funding and keeps getting it's staff cut year after year.

It’s subjective but I have really enjoyed the gameplay, at least in franchise mode, on NHL 25.
Offline and online hut need to be split so objectives can be more reasonable for online play

I run Truculence on d and play drop ins i am 61-22-2 it is a good time taking all their energy.
Pretty sad that chel on old gen is night and day better than next gen
My god EA Drop the x-factors already.
McDavid is just super lucky
Play world of chel, it’s a little less missrable. I refuse to play 1v1s due to how bad the game is.. too slow, too unrealistic, compys suck.
i rather play be a pro than eashl... i dont have to deal with dmen playing out of position and constantly trying to score like a forward

99%of players only using Last year far side snape and d-d 1timers.and the 99%not éven try anything else. Ea made sh@t again
Didn't ask
The d2d’s are too much but if you wanna be good, you put the time and effort in like anything. Skill issue sadly.

@ I totally agree and get it. To overcome it, you gotta put a lot of time in to get good. It sucks
