Why I think this is happening: 1. OnePlus premium phones used to be priced around 30,000 in 2018-19, but they have since become more expensive. When you can get a OnePlus for around 60,000, why wouldn't you consider an iPhone? 2. EMI options have become easily accessible in Tier 3-4 cities. In the past, you asked someone else for a credit card, but now all you need is your Aadhaar card to avail EMI options. 3. You made a valid point about resale value. I purchased a second-hand iPhone 11 in 2020 for 40,000 and sold it in 2022 for around 27,000. 4. The desire to show off. Earlier, It used to be enough to have the Apple logo, but now people want to show off their three cameras.(hence bought 14 pro )
tier 4 toh kuch hota bhi nahi hai , and most important is show off , also covid let to the rise of social media due to lockdown , and everyone influencer had an iphone , therefore gen z is buying it to look successful and cool

Absolutely true. As a OnePlus 7T pro user for the last 4 years, i was extremely satisfied with OnePlus, but after checking the issues with the latest models i doubt I would want to upgrade to a OnePlus.
As a developer, I've worked extensively with different operating systems and from a user perspective, I find Apple phones to be quite overpriced for what they offer. The user experience with iOS feels restrictive compared to the versatility and straightforwardness of Android. It seems many people are swayed by status and marketing to choose iPhones without fully considering the balance of cost, features, and user experience. Upon closer evaluation, it becomes clear that much of Apple's allure is a well-crafted marketing strategy rather than true user-centric innovation.

I think the sales of iPhones increased because of many factors - great buyback offer on the previous year's iPhones, no cost EMI, bank cashback offer, and last but not least, the FOMO factor among the genZ and the millennials. I believe *TIME* is a big factor. Most of the tech savvy young population that were students, were present during the golden smartphone era(when smartphone markets were booming). iPhone was a big goal of many students and young people who at the time could not buy it. iPhone was a status symbol at the time. Slowly as that population aged and started earning more, they are now buying iPhones in huge numbers. This was aided by the move of apple to manufacture base models in India at exactly the right opportunity due to which huge discounts were possible during sales on these iPhones which appealed to this young earning population even more.
80% middle class people in india consider buying iPhone from second hand market where the phone are imported from other countries and mostly people don’t talk about 2nd hand market which can be considered one of the reasons of apple growth in india . So total number iPhone sold in India is way lower than total number of people use iPhone.
I remember buying 2nd hand HTC touch in 2008 and then my buying HTC Desire in 2010. In those day no one knew what is a smartphone. Those were the good old days.
My father purchased a Samsung screen touch phone at that time. Back in 2008-2009 I'd say. That was the 1st touch screen phone I ever held in my hand. Later he switched to HTC which, unfortunately, got stolen. It was a good phone ngl
Thanks to Bajaj Finance, Amazon Pay Later, Flipkart Cardless EMI, No Cost EMI. It's all about tie ups and accessibility that's getting a wider consumer base in India.

Only 25 k salary dude and they sometimes tease me i may have mid range android phone but my personal expenses being a 19yo is way more than their complete salary 😂😂 . Dumbsss they are 😂❤
Very rare occassion that I wouldn't agree on 90% things said in this video . The gen z as we know them is the main customer of apple in India. They are certainly at a age now where they can buy a iphone or sometimes force their parents to but it to them. Moreover since lockdown the impact of social media like yt and insta has been such that the iPhone really has become a status symbol hence the aspiration of many gen zs which paired with more emi , 0 downpayment and greater availability of iphones. Sales like Flipkart convince a buyer with a 35k budget to try for a 50k iphone but often very few stocks are available and prices soon go up to like 55k. Thus an average perosn who earlier would have spent 35-40k for his phone now spends 55k excluding case, charger , apple care.
Actually we too purchased iPhone 12 two years ago and now we have booked iPhone 14 But the main reason behind purchasing iPhone for us is their reliability..very reliable phones..and completely lag free But nowadays lot of youth is buying iPhones for show-off..and the fact that , lot of them are not even able to afford one and they purchase it on EMI...I don't think it is financially a wise decision
Indians mainly buy old models, I don't think many people buy the latest ones in India anyway. And festive sales reduce iPhone price to around 40-70k, which isn't that big of an issue when avg smartphone price in 2023 is around 20k. Also we must remember that the number of rich indians(global middle class) are increasing at an astonishing rate(just read an article about how 5lpa+ individuals increased 20fold in last decade)
We indians can do only one thing follow the trend , orders and be a consumer in both ways the government is getting benefited , i know government officials who earning 10 crore per month but never comes out in the news 😢
Something to note - even though iPhones are now being assembled in India, the import duty / price hasn't come down. Look at iPhone 15 for example. I'd say its a rip off. If you have the option go for an older version iPhone else from overseas
Another reason apart from these is the popularity of Instagram and the trend to make reels. Not only the quality of photos and videos are better, but if you upload on IG through an iPhone, the quality doesn’t drop as much has it does via android and also there are special features only for iPhones. But EMI is definitely a huge contributing factor. I got my Mac book pro by EMI as I was getting a good deal along with a store discount. Apple surely knows it’s game and they play well. Respect for that.
I have recently started content creation on ig .. ab naya phone lena hai but confused hu iPhone lu ya android pr hi rahu .. ik the disadvantage of iPhone but the special features, quality of iPhone.. ke vajhse iPhone lene ka mann hai

Still no whitebalance feature on the iPhone camera app. As a photographer that is an absolute no-go. You basically want to take a photo of the sunset and instead of having a warm, red sky, the phone tries to make it "neutral colour" and it just looks bad. (too cold colours). This could so easily be fixed, offering the standard whitebalance features which ANY normal camera has - set the WB to "cloudy" and all your photos will have the same colours - take three photos with iPhone and all three have different colours depending on where you point the camera at. It would be so easy to implement this feature. I wonder if they live behind the moon, those people who did not think about this.
Two main reasons 1) EMIs 2) Less competition and quality products from other brands. And almost all the phones are expensive of good qualities plus the overall economical growth of Indians.
most people just dont want to accept that iphones are better. specially those who never had an Iphone always call it a showoff thing.. iPhone's are totally in a Different league when it comes to security. and in today's worth, that matters. if one can afford it just go for it. even if you buying on EMI. nothing wrong in EMI why someone needs to pay 70k at once when u can simply get it on easy EMIs. that is financial management.
It was not just company's strategy or tactics that made iphone sales boom, rather it was the public which created such an image of iphone like fridges or washing machine industry at start people wouldn't understand their use but then they were advertised it in such a way that "you don't even have a fridge in your home!".
There is quality and good resale value for iPhones. Add to this the smooth interface with literally no lag even after 3-4 years of usage and the better quality of accessories provided, along with the obvious status symbol boost you get, it’s not hard to see anyone going for an iPhone if they have the means to do so
My 12pro max, nearing to 3 year usage. Still no lag or hang. Didn’t even felt for upgrading to newer models. Still good enough to run for another 5 years. I was using spec loaded android phones before, every year upgrading because of lag and hang and i was feeling lazy to copy datas from my previous phones every time I bought a new phone. 3 years before, i Made a right choice shifting to ios. Bought 512 GB version and living a peaceful lazy life.
Have been using 4 year old oneplus 7t, still no lag or any issue with performance. Only concern is with battery performance but it is expected from a 4 year old phone
Almost 3 years?? Dude.. There are Android users who have stuck to their phones for 5 years with no problems.. And they spent just 20k odd .. It's not that only iphones last..
Lol my phone is poco and using it from 3 years and tbh it never hangs no lag problem at all Android are more durable than iOS and everyone knows it 🗿iphone is just about standard and camera
One missed one major reason is that not only iPhone but all other companies are coming up with 43 to 50k phones and when iPhone is for that same price in sales and etc so all companies together have made people feel that good phone are above 30 to 40k below that u get average phones with minimum features
The main reason i feel about its increasing sale is high increase in budget or other Android companies main series phone prices... which is increased to 30-35k segment now + even best Android makers giving phones at 50k+ ....so it became obvious for people to buy iphone as it became more in range because of other Android companies+ status factor which ofc is there with iphones so people push themselves to pay extra and get some showoff n ois
I just want to know who will be the next smartphone leader after apple coz if everyone buys it there will no no such things as showoff in coming years 😅
The main reason is the cost of flagship Android smartphones going really high! I recently bought an iPhone 14, initially, I was considering an S23 but to my surprise, it was more expensive than the iPhone. And I don't think the S23 justifies the higher price in any way possible. People used to go for these high-end smartphones at once when they were at least 20-30% costing lesser than iPhones but that is not the case anymore.
So only iPhone can be expensive because of it's logo?😂 Samsung S series provide more value for money than iPhone. iPhone hardware and body build is great but it's not doing one thing perfectly and that's behave like a phone. It's more like trying to be compact DSLR. iOS is so restricted and frustrating even basic tasks are big mess
@@tusharagarwal6155bro I have seen s23 selfies, they are shit. I am an android user and it’s sad to say no android phone can beat iPhone in terms of photos. Pixel takes good pics but lacks in other features.
i think we are forgetting, because Android(Google) thought that as the ability of a lot of people are increasing over the years, so they have been increasing the price for a good Android mobile in the 50k - 60k. I mean Android market boomed in India because it was a affordable phone with the best features a phone can get. Now if everyone have to shell out 60k which is what they can pay for Apple products, then it will for sure go for Iphones. So it is both - Apple decreasing the price and Android increasing the price. Now Apply has this vicious repair policy and there will be a time when the Indian customers will get fed up with it. Now if Android wants to service then they have to think in terms of Fairphone and give good post-purchase service.
Exactly. My budget for a phone is 30k usually, and in 2021 - when I was in market to buy a phone...there was nothing good in 30k range, in fact 30k was getting called mid range. If I had shelled another 20k, I could have bought a iPhone 12 in big billion day. But I stuck to Android - bought Moto Edge 20 pro...it's decent, but definitely not the best.. ..so since people want good phone and have to shell 50k minimum...why not spend more and Buy iPhone on EMI. ..it lasts longer and had decent resale value too ..
Still using XS Max. Back glass broke after 4 years of usage even with the back cover. Battery health 80% and still running smoothly after iOS 17 update.
Apple iphones are now more value for money compared to high end flagship android phones. Earlier flagship android phones used to be cheaper than iphones. One more reason is after covid there is huge change in spending behaviour of Indians, we are now spending more on everything from mobile phones to cars.
Main reason is not all but majority of aaj ka youth is into computer science engineering/ IT sector jobs. They get good salary and they can afford iphones easily now. Not counting jo emi pr lete. Like in my friend circle . We r 2019 passout we get decent 13-17+ Lpa salary . Everyone has flagship phones .( Mostly iphones )
Just a correction for the statement "Apple ki notch sabse baad me aayi thi". Apple was one of the early adopting companies to have a notch in iphone X. Before apple there was a company(the company is not so popular so forgot the name) who made a phone with a notch. Apple made it popular and the android phones adopted it ASAP and took it to next level
Buying an iphone in emi means you are literally not ready for that thing and if you see in flipkart the number of sales of non pro models compared to the pro models you will get the answer.

I've been using the OP7 for over 4 years now (I bought it in June 2019). It's still working fine, apart from the obvious battery degradation. I removed the tempered glass protection 2 years ago and the case last year. I've dropped it 5-6 times since then, but it never broke. It's built like a Nokia 1100. lmao. I'll probably continue using it till the battery capacity falls below 50% of the rated capacity because I don't think the phone will ever let me down performance-wise. Although, It'd have been wise to sell it in early 2021 as I was getting 20k for it (I think I bought it for 34k) and continue that 1-2 years cycle. But I don't like changing my phone and usually keep using it until it breaks or I feel the phone has slowed down by 15-20%.

India is not growing... Indians are going to be in big trouble. EMI is a double edged sword. Soon Indians will realise that they don't have any savings, any investments because all their money went into EMI instalments.
iPhones are “top selling” phones because Apple only has a few phones in their lineup. Other companies have multiple phones in their lineup, so the sales numbers get divided into the many models that the company has. So in that case, not one single model is “top selling”.

iPhone is still an aspirational purchase for many Indians. They are okay to buy a 2-year-old iPhone 13 just for the logo. Nobody cares about features or specifications since the brand covers everything. People even want to get iPhones that don't even get updates anymore and that is the value of the brand Apple has built. But I believe since there is a surge in iPhone purchases in India which is largely still an Android market, its weaknesses in iOS will start to show as many more folks try to get their hands on one and use it in real life.
Major reason for iphone boom 1) People where switching from 3G to 4G, by 2018 4G network was established everywhere and people were compelled to switch phone. 2)Exchange Offers and Emi and Sale 3)Buyers are Mostly First time, after a year they go back to Android, because iphone is just for status symbol, For daily needs u need Android. 4) Apple watch, just for watch few people buy iphone... Note: Iphone is good but not worth the value, apple is so stubborn, they wont change with market, and one day they will also have same story like nokia.
I've seen people struggling with 64gb, smaller screen . Slowing software, low battery life, but they won't switch to Android nor can they afford recent iphones

It is BNPL and No Cost EMIs (Actually Has Hidden Interest) is the reason that people is buying iphones, Samsung s22/s23 phones. Now it has become a part of status symbol and fashion for youth. People who has 1/3 of their salary of an iPhone price even they are buying iphones.

Im planning to buy an Iphone soon hopefully. The only other phone I have in mind is base S23. Many people are bragging about how S23 is so much better than iphone also need to consider the value for money for the products. S23 rarely gets sale and also it is much expensive than iphone 14. Since both can do the exact thing very much the same it is upon someone like me to choose if a little better option (S23) is worth for more than 20 thousand than iphone 14. Since in this years big billion day sale the price diff will be in that range. Iphone 14/13 will be an better option if money is taken note of. 1.

Even chapris are buying it lol😂 its a status symbol to show wealth, nothing else lol

Exactly

I agree, people care about their status symbol rather than their needs and actual requirements

Actually we too purchased iPhone 12 two years ago and now we have booked iPhone 14
But the main reason behind purchasing iPhone for us is their reliability..very reliable phones..and completely lag free
But nowadays lot of youth is buying iPhones for show-off..and the fact that , lot of them are not even able to afford one and they purchase it on EMI...I don't think it is financially a wise decision

Two main reasons
1) EMIs
2) Less competition and quality products from other brands. And almost all the phones are expensive of good qualities plus the overall economical growth of Indians.
You are wrong, these are not the reasons. Specially the second reason.
Competition? For real bruh?
Yes, people look either I phones or Samsung in Top ends. So, how can you say there are too many competitions?
3) Sapri showoff
most people just dont want to accept that iphones are better. specially those who never had an Iphone always call it a showoff thing..
iPhone's are totally in a Different league when it comes to security. and in today's worth, that matters. if one can afford it just go for it. even if you buying on EMI. nothing wrong in EMI why someone needs to pay 70k at once when u can simply get it on easy EMIs.
that is financial management.

Fridge is a very important thing to have
There is quality and good resale value for iPhones. Add to this the smooth interface with literally no lag even after 3-4 years of usage and the better quality of accessories provided, along with the obvious status symbol boost you get, it’s not hard to see anyone going for an iPhone if they have the means to do so

I just want to know who will be the next smartphone leader after apple coz if everyone buys it there will no no such things as showoff in coming years 😅
Very sound reasoning another factor contributing to it increase is due to it being commonly used by companies as a corporate phone
@@aayushbrawls1838it will change when other companies will start launching their devices with comptiton to iPhone
STATUS FACTOR : YEH KYA HAI OH NO APKS 😂
The main reason is the cost of flagship Android smartphones going really high! I recently bought an iPhone 14, initially, I was considering an S23 but to my surprise, it was more expensive than the iPhone. And I don't think the S23 justifies the higher price in any way possible. People used to go for these high-end smartphones at once when they were at least 20-30% costing lesser than iPhones but that is not the case anymore.
Lol S23 easily justifies it's price, more than iPhone could ever do.
Exactly I got the Note 10 plus 4 years back for 65000 now its almost double for flagship
So only iPhone can be expensive because of it's logo?😂 Samsung S series provide more value for money than iPhone. iPhone hardware and body build is great but it's not doing one thing perfectly and that's behave like a phone. It's more like trying to be compact DSLR. iOS is so restricted and frustrating even basic tasks are big mess

i think we are forgetting, because Android(Google) thought that as the ability of a lot of people are increasing over the years, so they have been increasing the price for a good Android mobile in the 50k - 60k.
Spot on.
Intresting 🔥

Although, It'd have been wise to sell it in early 2021 as I was getting 20k for it (I think I bought it for 34k) and continue that 1-2 years cycle. iPhones are “top selling” phones because Apple only has a few phones in their lineup.

Why why no manufacturing in India of pro models and other accessories... govt should be strict about this..
They are pro for a reason
@@meeiiiii so is china only able produce pro no we Indians???
Don't we have the best technology institutes in the Asian continent??
@@Doc_Jamilahmed tell me how many indians will buy pro model?, for example samsung s23 ultra or fold series is rare to see so as pro model so why would a company invest when it won't sell?
@@Doc_Jamilahmed and i phone 15 pro max is now 1.6 lakhs and that's huge investment lol

Yeah but still I have better housing and overall condition of living than an averga iPhone user 😂
Salary - 25000
People - lets take iPhone of 80000 so i will look sucessfull , people will accept socially.
If you take a phone trice your whole salary you are already broke
😂
Sorry .. but i would like to correct here that iPhone X was the trend setter for the notch in the mobile industry .. it was then only when mobile companies started innovating with the punch hole and pop up front cameras but Apple remained stuck with its notch. 😊
A*slicker
Still sold more than the punch hole phones

Iphone is getting cheap day by day😅
Soon it's value will be equal to that is KTM
It is BNPL and No Cost EMIs (Actually Has Hidden Interest) is the reason that people is buying iphones, Samsung s22/s23 phones. Now it has become a part of status symbol and fashion for youth. People who has 1/3 of their salary of an iPhone price even they are buying iphones.
I am samsung user i recently buyed s21 fe in 44k even though i was geting i phone 13 new model and i phone 12 pro max in almost new 45 k

Coming from someone who hasn't used an iphone till date and don't care about status symbol just want a new capable phone to record videos and keep them as memoir in the future.
Iphone better in every aspect .
@@luffymonke0810except if you buy an iPhone you’ll be judged to death. I bought an iPhone 12 on sale and people judge me mercilessly. I bought it with my own hard earned money. I am a doctor and even my patients judge me. Android fanboys can be really brutal. I bought an iPhone because it gels well with my iPad. Not for showing off.
So be cautious while buying an iPhone in India. Android fanboys can say really mean things in India.
tomorrow I am going to buy a mew phone, confused between iphone 13 and OnePlus 11
