DW criticizes the relationship between Greece and China. But it cannot admit that the EU has condemned Greeks to misery by refusing to do anything that could punish the German and French banks that flooded Greece with loans before the 2008 crisis.

It cannot admit that the west has been doing everything re:influence peddling and interfering with domestic politics in Africa that it complains China is doing.
This comes across as Europeans crying that Africans now have options in terms of investment options.

President Xi Jinping of China was a shrewd and strategic leader, and he knew that the key to China's future lay in its ability to forge closer economic ties with its neighbors. To that end, he had launched an ambitious program of loans and assistance to Asian countries, providing the funds necessary to build roads, bridges, and other infrastructure projects.
At the same time, Xi was also building strong trade relationships with these countries, giving Chinese businesses a foothold in new markets and expanding the reach of Chinese influence across the region. The United States had been caught off guard by China's moves, and was only slowly realizing the extent to which China was building a formidable economic empire across Asia and beyond.
But the countries receiving China's loans and support were more than willing to accept the conditions that came with the money. Unlike the United States, China did not require the borrowing country to adhere to strict human rights standards or other requirements that might be seen as interference in the country's internal affairs. For the leaders and the people of these countries, China was a more appealing partner than the United States, which often came with a litany of conditions and requirements attached to its aid and support.
As the years went on, China's influence continued to grow, and its economic control over the region became more and more evident. Many economists predicted that China was well on its way to becoming the preeminent power of the 21st century, with a formidable economic and global presence that few other countries could hope to match. And President Xi Jinping knew that he had played his cards right, building a powerful empire that would be the envy of the world for generations to come.

The problem about Westerners teaching you anything about anyone else, is that, they the West like to omit ANYTHING that implicates themselves, in why things happen the way they do in the world. Take for instance, European imperialism, colonialism and hegemony has had indelible role in the creation of modern China. The Chinese "great leap forward"under Mao, is a copy paste of the American trans-Atlantic slave trade economy, without the black slaves however, the results are the same, untold economic success amidst the millions of dead broken bodies...
The Chinese Communist purges and re-education that even Xi had to endure are directly borrowed from the pages of the Holy Roman Empires RECONQUISTA Inquisitions, witch hunts and forced re-conversions after the fall of the Moorish Europe --- It's easy for Western scholars and documentarians like @DW to ignore the impact and implications of FORCED Western colonial ideologies on societies and nations across the world, that they conquered and indoctrinated...
I mean just take a glimpse at the prevailing arguments around the US public education system where education takes second place to blatant indoctrination...

However, if the West has anything to teach anyone, the least they could do is demonstrate how they know others decisions are "mistakes". In some countries its scorned against to disrespect your parents, elders or community...
I mean should we all think, act and behave like little black and brown copies of Westerners...???
We can surely, talk about what all this things means to all of us---but I do not see any value in attempting to shame China for having it's own values and political systems.regardless of how repressive we believe them to be...

The word free brings good things; so it's freedom of speech. At first it seems crazy; but eventually, it brings consensus where everyone understands true and different opinions.
People don't have to think alike. Actually, it's better when people who disagree start listening other points of view.
Honor freedom of speech and individual freedom.

Easy (but imperfect), way of telling if any documentary is worth watching:
      How long is it:

-around 30 minutes, won't be that good as it'll only give a broad overview

It's called double standard and info manipulation. It's very understandable coming from a US or UK media, because I know their mentality very well. But from a German media a little disappointing, because this country used to be on the borderline of East and West until 1989 (Geopolitics wise). In theory, it should have a more balanced view. But then again there is a word in German called Fachchinesisch which means something very distant, not understandable, gibberish.

CCP was all to willing to allow in western corporate manufacturing for world exports and undercut any competitors product. Profits soared into the billions for US business and CCP in exports only went up. In exchange for use of cheap labor and to sell western products in China however, US businesses had to relinquish intellectual property and copyrights to the CCP or else. So as we go through the worst President ever in the history of the US (Biden) we are about tapped out, Western Europe good luck in fending for yourselves as it appears you are next in the takeover plan.

43:45 One example of linearizing results is "We (China under the CCP) managed to develop economically without democratic/classic lberal principles". That would not have happened at the same speed if not for mainly US corporations moving their manufacturing plants to China in order to maximize their shareholders' profits. That movement, btw, had the blessing of both US parties who turned a blind eye to IP transfer restrictions legislation that would not allow most of the manufacturing to move over there. Most intellectual property related to technology lies in the production process - that's why it would be impossible.
It's interesting how the Chinese President, it seems, gets inspiration from the US who, in turn, is largely inspired by the Roman Empire. The story gets even more interesting if we remember the Roman Empire is no more since a long time ago. China is one of the oldest civilizations on Earth and has had imperial periods that, I believe, summed up are larger than the British or French empires. We all know what the crimes and injustices the European empires did around the world and we must remember those are required to keep empires running. The Kenyan representative at the UN gave a wonderful example of the difficulties the past can cause if nations keep trying to resolve it with his speech about African borders at the General Assembly. If Xi selects the correct time frame it's a history of disgrace - however, if one chooses another time frame (unlike Kenya, afaik) it will be a time of Empire. It seem the Chinese President is trying to improve on the methods of a nation that at a path to become the shortest large empire in history.
China, I think it's fair to say, is a great nation - all we have to do is look at its history. It will become the largest economy in the world but how it will get there and for how long is a different question. I should also say that Kenya and Germany are great nations with their own peculiar histories and, at least in Germany's case (I know nothing about Kenya, I'm sorry to say), we all know the good parts and the bad parts. BTW, we should avoid copying the bad parts and try to get inspiration from the good ones. (seems obvious but it's weird times so it's alwasy good to make that clear).
In the end I find all this power bickering very sad: people fighting to be the captain of a sinking ship and very little being done to fix the holes. In times of Geopolitical Realism these leaders, well, be more realist: the ship is not that big, there's no island nearby and the water inside is rising.

      For those who missed this.
Brown University’s Costs of War Project this month released a new estimate of the total death toll from the U.S. wars in three countries: Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. The numbers, while conservatively estimated, are staggering. Brown’s researchers estimate that at least 480,000 people have been directly killed by violence over the course of these conflicts, more than 244,000 of them civilians. In addition to those killed by direct acts violence, the number of indirect deaths - those resulting from disease, displacement, and the loss of critical infrastructure - is believed to be several times higher, running into the millions.
When the U.S. military first apologized for the botched drone strike that killed 10 civilians in Kabul, Afghanistan, including seven children, it insisted that it got one thing right: Zemari Ahmadi stopped at an “ISIS safe house.” Now, this week, the military admitted that “We have not found any particular safe house.” Our visual investigation takes you inside the misidentified home.

      Update
March 19 marks 15 years since the U.S.-UK invasion of Iraq in 2003, and the American people have no idea of the enormity of the calamity the invasion unleashed.
The U.S. military has refused to keep a tally of Iraqi deaths. General Tommy Franks, the man in charge of the initial invasion, bluntly told reporters, “We don’t do body counts.”
One survey found that most Americans thought Iraqi deaths were in the tens of thousands.
But our calculations, using the best information available, show a catastrophic estimate of 2.4 million Iraqi deaths since the 2003 invasion.
Since World War II, during a supposed golden age of peace, the United States military has killed or helped kill some 20 million people, overthrown at least 36 governments, interfered in at least 85 foreign elections, attempted to assassinate over 50 foreign leaders, and dropped bombs on people in over 30 countries. The United States is responsible for the deaths of 5 million people in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, and over 1 million just since 2003 in Iraq.
      The list is super long.
