    Authors Note:
Initially, this video was called the EE-9 M1, and talked about what was perceived to be the EE-9 M1 Cascavel with a 37 mm gun. Not long after the article and video was published, the writer had a conversation with one of Brazil’s leading experts Paulo Bastos, who noted that the EE-9 M1 designation never existed and that Engesa had gone straight to the M2 designation instead considering the vehicles shared the same hulls. Paulo Bastos noted that it was an understandable mistake, and that to this day, after 10 years of research, new things regarding the somewhat complicated early development of the EE-9 are still found to this day. The writer would hereby apologise for his mistake and has since adjusted the article to be titled as CRM and the EE-9 M2 37 mm. Technically, the EE-9 37 mm was not an official designation either, but it is the only way to differentiate between the 37 mm armed EE-9 M2 and the 90 mm armed M2.

There's also the Sucuri which is the Cascavel's big brother, also 6x6 but with a 120mm cannon.

Both Sucuris were armed with 105mm's, the first with a French low pressure, the same one as the AMX-13-105, while the second Sucuri was armed with the same 105 mm as the Centauro from Oto-Melara.

I wrote this in the initial script: At the time, Portugal was embroiled in the war of ultramar against the Chaos forces of the 13th black crusade.
Sadly, we decides it would be a bit too much.

@@blasekiller9733 that's a shame, I'm sure those few Portuguese regiments would appreciate the recognition of their role during the fall of cadia

Too many tough competitors faced by Engesa, the M60 and Leopard 1 were made in thousands so in the 90's, these are sold cheap as surplus. Engesa's marketing would need to lower the price even more to attract potential customers. SE Asia could've been its last hope. Singapore had aging Centurions and Malaysia was looking for an MBT in the 1990's.
