    Nothin like a 70s Mopar b-body hood for football field length picnic table when at the park. 😂

    Seeing those bushings I am surprised you can make an adjustment that stays put.That said cool car man
    I had one as a kid.Came with a blown up 400 cid engine.I replaced it with a 340 cid engine out of a 70 Duster/Valiant.I really miss the car and regret ever selling it.I now own a 2006 SRT8 Dodge Charger.I was pulling 12s at my local track at 99 degrees with the air conditioner running.

      Thats pretty cool man! Some of the suspension on my charger has been redone but not all of it. It drives fairly well on the freeway too.

    Not bad at all my 73 Dodge Charger 400 big block made 287 horsepower and 330 torque at the wheels... long tube headers Edelbrock RPM cam stock 346 cylinder heads stock ignition (Mopar) RPM intake manifold Edelbrock Dome high top pistons

      I think this engine has a lot more in it. I'm gonna get a cam for it to really wake it up.

      The intake looks like a performer RPM! Yeah that is actually pretty awesome for tire measured power out of a 400 too and not a 440. Yeah the 400 is a great engine for this car. Nice and balanced. Forget cam, i would get some Omazing aluminum heads for it and get a superb valve job and valve flow work with 10:1 and a performer RPM intake or mopar performance intake whatever does best. Get the horsepower up around 350-400 hp and the same torque and this thing shall be really sweet because it is already awesome.🙂 You all can really see on the graph this thing is pretty much straight horizontally on power, that is a bunch of consistent average power laying down , the peak numbers although didn't have to be super high although the power band is a huge wall! Rebuild this thing with some Mahle pistons with longer rod and thinner rings with napier second ring and you are gold put in a windage tray with a crank scraper.

      @@zAvAvAz I actually got it re-dynoed we put the timing to 36 and a FBO ignition and it made 304 at the wheels... my charger has Dome Pistons it's really a 406

    This is absolutely awesome! Hey great car i love it. it needs a front end rebuild and then align add some front coil overs and convert the rear to coil overs to get rid of the leaf springs 🙂

    • @nightwrencherperformance
      @nightwrencherperformance  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It needs even more work than that I think 😂 but thank you 👍 we're going back to the dyno soon to swap carbs.

    • @olikat8
      @olikat8 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The torsion bar front end isn't made to have shock loads directed up to the top of the tower. Thus you have to get a Magnumforce front end & all...bring buckets of cash. Just slapping in coil overs would bend it all up

    • @zAvAvAz
      @zAvAvAz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@olikat8 Wow thanks, well maybe some reinforcement can help, did not know these cars had shock towers like many mustangs did. Must of done it to keep weight to minimum.

    The 361, I call it the Rodney Dangerfield of big block Mopars. If you don’t get the reference, Dangerfield’s tag line was “I don’t get no respect”. Even more unusual, these days everyone and their brother are running stroker engines, nice to see someone who doesn’t follow the crowd.

      The 361 is presmogger era 1962. Factory 305hp SAE(about 275hp with accessories on an engine dyno and about 200whp). The 440 source heads dropped compression from 9.5 to 9.2:1. 220whp is right where it should be with the stock cam(.389/.389 lift 189/192duration)

    One good thing about that car, you're not going to win any speed competitions whatsoever. And you won't have any problem with mosquitoes. That engine is flatly worn out.

    Rebuild the engine and spring needs to be there if you want mechanical secondaries you don't buy a vacuum operated curb you buy a mechanical all 4 open up vacuum secondary is so the car doesn't stumble when you hit it they are ment to open with rpm if you want all 4 to open when you hit it a mechanical secondary is what you want with that engine from what i see keep secondary that engine is tired you would get more out of a rebuild with a purple cam then all that msd stuff thats not a hight compression engine dual-point distributors are just as good up 6200 rpm good luck you have a decent start i have seen and restored far worse

    • @nightwrencherperformance
      @nightwrencherperformance  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm already ahead of you. New video dropping soon, already got the mechanical secondary carb and a nice cam. Also pulled some weight off the car and ready to hit the dyno again. I pulled the spring to give it a "worst case" senario and make sure the secondaries were opening early enough, which we found that they were. Gonna give it on last hurrah before the rebuild 👍
