    Just ran the Toyo AT 3 on my F 350 FX4 long bed off road in the California desert. Aired down to 16 psi. I pushed them and they performed flawlessly. Never got stuck and no damage. At the end of the trip, towed the fifteen thousand lb. fifth wheel home not missing a beat.

    Toyo AT3’s all day! Toyo just came out with the Open Country R/T Trail as well, really good looking tire and I heard it’s phenomenal! More aggressive sidewall and really a nice compliment to the Toyo Open Country family.

    Love the look and performance of my AT3's. I've had them for just over a year in Northern Michigan and they have been great year round. I am in the construction trades and have go through all kinds of terrain on the job site and had no issues in 2 wheel drive Ram

    Toyo AT3 ! I ran a set on my company truck < powerline worker, south rurales in California. i am off road every day in the Desert , Mountains , Rock ect , with tools on my work truck. 60,000 miles out of the AT3 tires. The new set The company installed are Toyo RTs. They are wearing faster than AT3s and not nearly as smooth, and i see any real discernable traction benefit. I was so impressed I put AT3 37s on my personal truck. Been Running Toyo MTs on everything i owned for 23 years. Toyos are just the cats meow!

    My AT3’s have been incredible in the snow. Dry is decent but rain you gotta be cautious with lateral grip.

      Thank you for your input! I’ve been deciding between a few tires and I’ve heard only positive things about the AT3’s…buttt I’m not in love with my AT2’s due to wet/rain performance. Looks like I’m going with the Falken AT3W’s!!! 🍻

      ​@@TonyNguyen-fp9ds I had the Wildpeaks and wet grip was awesome, plus they only wore 4/32s in 28000 miles. Only bad was they wouldn't ever balance up perfectly

    Got the Toyo AT3s and love them on my Jeep so far look aggressive and fairly quiet on road, good wet weather traction and can’t wait to try them in the snow this year!

    Just Bought a Set of Open Country AT 3 225/60/17 was caught up in rain today severe rain 🌧 fall went through poddles running water 💧 on the road ran through water at a good speed and it cut through the water with no problem the grip on the Wet roads was excellent no hydroplaining what so ever good grip on Dry pavement Have not driven these tires on snow as of yet would Recommend these tires for any vehicle and i would buy again from 1 to 10 i give And 8 for right now until I drive them on snow I am driving a Nissan Rouge 2013 front wheel drive

    If Snowflake rating is important to you get the ATIII, if looks are more important get the Recon, the sidewall protection is more aggressive looking.

    I've got the AT3's on my Silverado and absolutely love them. I live in Utah and I think they're a perfect tire for where I live and what I do. I commute all year as well as off road. They wear like iron, they're pretty quiet on pavement and are (I think) a damn good looking tire

    Toyo all the way. We still get ice and snow down here. On those days you will appreciate the extra traction and the mileage warranty is a plus over the ridge grappler.

    I'm in San Antonio and getting the Recon Grapplers put on my 2021 F150 today actually (07/22). My reasons are:
    1. We don't necessarily need the 3-peak rating in south Texas
    2. Anytime I can get lighter ATs, count me in
    3. I've seen reviews that these provide a quiet ride
    4. I do more street driving than offroad so these still provide that aggressive look
    5. I drive on the beach/sand quite a bit at the Texas coast so these should help with better sand traction. I previously owned some Wildpeaks on a 2015 F150 and although I enjoyed them, they would bog me down into the sand

      How do you like them so far??? I am in a similar situation as you. I want an A/T with more aggressive looks for my '21 F-150, but I do a lot of on road driving for work everyday so the road noise needs to be at a minimum. Are the recons quiet on the road? Thanks for any updates!

      @@caseyragar These are fantastic!! Road noise is hardly existent and they ride so smooth. It also literally rained the moment I drove them home so I was able to immediately feel them on wet roads and they handled extremely well. We also just drove to Amarillo and back this past weekend and I'm averaging 3-5 mpg more on these compared to the Toyo Open Country R/Ts that came with my truck. Super happy with them.

      @@rpoldervaart Congrats on your new toy coming soon! Man I absolutely love ‘em. They’re still as quiet as the day I bought them and I’ve driven to Dallas and back (twice), Abilene (twice), Amarillo, Houston and Port Aransas a couple of times already. My MPG between these and the factory tires did go down a little bit but that’s to be expected. They still carry that aggressive look and I’m happy with them 100%.

      @@redbirdsjunkie Thanks for the quick reply, and I'm glad to hear they are still keeping you happy. My wife asked me if I'm looking for a unicorn tire. Honestly, they'll see 99% street,but I want the more aggressive look than stock. I'd like to keep the mpg with stock weight, good ride on dry and wet, quiet, long lasting, and good price. These seem to tick a lot of the boxes. Sounds like you have a lot of road time on yours, so your feedback is great! Thanks again. Truck is built and now waiting on shipping.

    Somehow missed this when I was researching the Nitto Trail Recon's. This vid / post ~is~ 18 months old now, at this time of my comment. When you made this, data you had at the time was the Recon was new and sizes were limited, mainly to 20 inch wheels. When I was looking for tires for my Ram 2500 CTD, 3" VR suspension, 700 pound camper, with 37's that I wheel/overland/back road travel a ton......I was on that quest for "Tall Skinnies" for my rig on my factory 17" wheels. (in fact I would love that for all my rigs, and currently running 35x10.50's on my JKU on factory Rubicon 17" wheels).
    I know for the many of us on the "Tall Skinny Quest"....it's not easy, but talking to mfg's, that may change. Anywho.... As I was scouring tire companies and offerings, the Recon had arrived in the 37 X 11.50 R17 size. It may not seem like much from a 12.50 down to 11.50, but it IS the ticket I was looking for. AT, good milage warranty, good construction, nice tread pattern and depth, good load rating...... And as you noted though, lacking the 3 peak snow rating. I don't think that's end-all-be-all as far as snow though. Heavy truck and camper they are just fine. They checked more boxes than not for my wants and needs. Especially for width, on stock wheels, for the specific desire to keep the tires and wheels in the factory zone of centered over the wheel bearings, and turning on the factory axis, not an arc. I'm trying to keep wheel bearings, ball joints, and steering wear in reasonable check. I think that has worked pretty well for me so far. At 150K and 19 years old, the truck has not excessively gone thu those parts. It has lived it's life lifted, and 37's the last 16 years. This month I'm doing a preventative front end refresh. The factory non-greasable steering linkage was done at 60K. Par for these trucks. At 150K now, the factory front wheel bearings are still OK, but I'm doing a preventative change, it's time. The Moog problem solver "Y" linkage has been in 90K and still in fair shape. But my refresh will include the factory Mopar "T" linkage upgrade. Steering box.... That known issue, it's done, and a Red Head box upgrade (purposely not going "big box" yet). The Moog ball joints (greaseable) that went in at 60K are done. So I got 90K out of them; not bad. But I went Carli Lifetime Joints to upgrade.
    So all my blabbering was just to illustrate my reason for staying with stock wheels even though larger tires, to keep the front end operating close to factory. That gave some longevity to things and NO breakage's with hard use. The 37x11.50R17 Recons will work even better for my style of things, and, they have been on since late summer 2022. I live a little west of Denver. This fall they ran me to Escalante' and Grand Staircase. Awesome on the highway. Then about a month getting me around off road. Grand Staircase roads of dirt, crappy clay, mud, & rocks. Capitol Reef Back Country to Bullfrog, Cedar Mesa, and more back country. Then traversed the entire Canyons of the Ancients monument from SW to NE. My air down choice is about 27psi. Fine floatation in the sand still, grip on loose dirt and rocks, OK in the slick wet dirt, again awesome on the highway. Sorry to be long winded. Just my take on the Recon's and that "tall skinny" size. I haven't had a good snow yet to test that, but I'm not worried.     Honestly where I live in NC foothills/ mountains we get some snow and ice. Plenty of rain and bunch of hot ass dry days. I have hankook dynapro atm on my 05 tahoe. They had a low rating on pick ups but they really come to life on my SUV. Still cheaper than both of those choices. But they look good.

    I live in Las Vegas - been trying to decide which to go for. I only see snow, if i got to Mt. Charleston in the winter months. Otherwise, nadda. I typically use my 2019 Ram Bighorn for work purpose, so I'm not offroading much , mainly on the road in desert conditions. Heat, if anything, is what I think about. I'm assuming in my case, Nitto would be best? Anyone have input?

    I have the Toyos and they are really good in all conditions, at least for me so far, Toyo owns Nitto so they’ll be pretty close on performance

    I’ve got about 30,000 miles on my 35x12.50 r20 AT3s with still over half the tread on my 2019 Ram 2500 that’s towing 2/3 of those miles in South Georgia, I think it’s the best tire Toyo has put out also put set on the wife’s Ecodiesel

      I’m in eastern oregon, which means months of snow and ice. The AT3s on ice perform horribly. I understand that these are not snow tires, but they are dangerous on ice. Lock up your tires on ice and you can have a cup of tea before you come to a stop. Rain/dirt/gravel and dry pavements are fine.

      I think they ride good I’m running at 55psi, I’m not towing heavy so lowering the pressure smooths out the ride. The wife also thinks it’s more comfortable ride than the RT tires and with less road noise

    My P metric Toyo AT3s have a 65k mile warranty. P265/50 R 20 on a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Summit 5.7.

    There's so many new tires coming out that look like they would be a good fit for my use, but so few seem to be offered in a 37"-40" on a 16 or 17" rim. I hope these sizes get back filled as production advances.

    So I'm new to offroading and choosing tires- I just ordered some XL-rated 285/60r18 Toyo AT3s- is that ok for offroading on an SUV? Not an E rated tire I guess, but the LT tires are so heavy...

    When you say free mounting and balancing...that means they ship fully mounted on the wheel? What precautions are made to protect the wheels?

      Great question! They are individually wrapped and banded up on a pallet with foam in between each wheel to prevent damage!

    Question? I agree I like the toyo AT 3 tire above all . However, can I fit the 35x70x18 D tire on a 2016 jeep wrangler sahara? I have a 2.5 leveling kit on the front and a 2.25 kit onthe rear. Will I need 1.25 spacers? Your thoughts.....thanks

    I ran the Recon Grappler and Toyo RT Trail, and live in a 4 season mountain climate. They are absolutely terrible in the rain and snow.

    There’s something about the Nitto Recon that keeps drawing me back to it... lots of great options, definitely should be looking at a 3 peak tire... but like I said, that recon got my vote for now.
    Patiently waiting for Nitto to release more sizes and more reviews.

    20 inch wheel size doesn't leave enough sidewall to air down for flexibility. Just my opinion. Wait for more tire sizes in the nitto tire to make a comparison off road.

    I am buying a set of the AT3's for my 03' Ford F150, they came recommended to me over the BF KO2's, which in the E rating are about the same as the LT rated BF's. I don't tow anything super heavy other than our 16' alumacraft fishing boat on a shorlandr trailer, and I don't put anything super heavy in the bed- it's pretty rotted (I live in Iowa in the rust belt). In the winter, I do a lot of hunting/ice fishing, and often on weekends if I'm not driving across frozen corn/bean stubble (punctures tires badly), then I"m out on the frozen lake driving around in search of fish. The ice can be unforgiving- can puncture tires if you're not careful, so I got the E-rated tires. Anyone have a suggestion for a set of shocks to go with these tires? Currently the original Rancho RS500's are on it (This is an FX4 off road model). Looking to get away from Ranchos, had them on another truck and I felt the ride was kind of harsh....had 10 plys on that truck too, and the shocks were brand new.

      @@TrailBuilt Thanks! I'd be interested in finding someone who mounted a set of Bilsteins. Trying to keep things stock...with a few tweaks. Love the Rough Country shocks- had them on a 92' Explorer sport I had with a 4 inch RC lift kit, RC stabilizer. Had some other mods too- too many to list. Was a fun toy at the time.

    Hi my name is firas I have 2023 GMC canyon at4 I want to put new tires in my car the one I have size265/65/18 I need to replace it with305/60/18 because I like a little bigger tire in my car and not making any noise here in Michigan. Most of the weather is winter snow and rain and I’m looking for all-terrain tires and I find Ni ridge grappler in this one, not making any noise thank you.

    Have you done a review on the Goodyear Duratracs ? I have passengers on my Ram and the different compound on my Jeep, not liking them on the Jeep, feels like cement under me

      I have the Duratracs on my truck now. With 36000 miles they ride good and wear good but loud as heck. I rotate every 5000 miles so they all have even wear but loud as heck. I’m getting rid of them just because of how loud they are

    The best truck tire by far for any situation is the Michelin defender. I've mudded these bad boys. Slippin all over the place to my destination. You should all try them out. Especially for snow or mud.

      Michelin had a major problem with the defender ......after replacing 5 of them they admitted the problem

    How would the Toyo AT3 work in high temperatures? Here in California we go months at a time where it's over 105*. Will the hotter temperatures make the tire slick and oily and increase wear?

    Can anyone share how the highway noise of the at3 is?

      I have a set on my 2020 Dodge Durango GT AWD. They have more noise than General APT's on our Ram 1500 and 2500 trucks. But less than the Cooper ST Maxx tires that I have had.
      Excellent ride, with fairly good handling.

    Can’t they make a tire that’s slightly more aggressive but quiet? just need a tire that looks more aggressive and rides good and quite... Do not off-road with this 23 ram limited, but the stock probably scorpions just don’t look right. Rim size is 22, so thinking 33s or 305

    Why produce a new AT that’s not 3 Peak rated like their competitors are??? Makes no sense. Nitto needs to rethink this one.

      Plenty of good AT tires on the market that don’t feature a 3PMS rating.

      Because for some people like me snow rating is useless cause we rarely get enough snow to matter, but still need a/t tires that aren’t focused on snow and more on dirt, mud/clay, wet roads and longevity

    If that Toyo AT3 is anything like the Cooper ATR which same tread pattern is very similar that tire is not worth crap only good is on dry pavement.

    Save yourself anywhere from 75.00 to 100.00 a tire, depending on where you live. Go with the kenda klever at2.. unbelievable performance, 3 snow peak rated, 60,000 miles warranty, quite tire..what are you waiting for???

      I have a set currently on my 03' Ford F150 (Discovery AT's)......they are pretty much trash after 2 years of daily driving them.

    Nitto tires are probably the worst tires on the market. I have had several sets and the last two sets separated in less than a year and Nitto wil not stand behind their warranty. This was all highway driving and should not have damaged them. I switched to Michelin tires and I’ve not had a problem since.

    Toyo owns Nitto and its their secondary brand. Never go cheap on tires unless you are selling the vehicle that week. Your vehicle is riding on four contact patches that are maybe the size of your hand. Only exception to that is based on my experiences Badyears sorry Goodyears are never worth the money

      @@B_EIMON Wrong punk. Toyo owns Nitto and Toyo is the larger company. Please do some reasearch before running your pie hole. Toyo has been around a lot longer than Nitto but we cant expect a 13yo to know that.
