- 2024 LandCruiser 250 - Fitting aggressive 35" tires with no lift. While editing this clip today, I peeked into the install bay, and Ben was already doing naughty things to the rig. Stick around till the end of the video for a peep.

Excited to see what you guys put together!
We aim to have it mostly finished for Expo PNW. We'll do a lot of bumper testing over the summer so keep an eye out for more content on IG and YT.
Can’t wait to get your bumpers
We're working on them. :)
I can’t wait to see what y’all do with this. I got a 40th Anniversary LC that is in a state of repair, but for a future vehicle I’ve been debating the pros and cons of Broncos, Gladiators, 4Runners and Land Cruisers, and if this thing turns out as good as the 80 series then I’ll probably get that one.
We really want to push the platform nd find out what it can do. Is it worthy of the LC badge? We'll find out.
I like how small it is like the versatility of Tacoma; getting through the woods
Here in the middle east (from Dubai) we are getting the Land Cruiser without the hybrid system and we won't be getting the Lexus GX550. My only concern is that installing a 35 inch tires will heavily affect the performance due to the extra weight. Our version of off-roading is based on desert and large sand dunes that require both torque and speed. The car looks sick with 35 inch tires not sure what modification or tunning would be possible to offset the weight of the tires and the wracks.
A good set of aggressive 33" tires with lightweight wheels would probably do great in the dunes, especially with a tune. 35s are probably overkill. In the dunes, horsepower is important so turbo petrol engines are great. Here in the mountains, we need ground clearance and horsepower is less important. We drive offroad at low speeds and low RPM.
Damn this thing is gonna be bad ass. The new LC looks really good in general, the 35s really add to it.
Thanks Tyler! We agree. Just have to work out how to get some real flex out of it.
Will you be at Expo this weekend? Check us out in the ComeUp booth if so.
This isn’t an LC! The LC is larger much more luxurious and twin turbo V6
Will your high clearance bumpers accommodate all the sensors and tech in the new Land Cruisers?
Definitely! It's going to be tricky for sure but we always figure out a way.
How is the transmission liking the 35s? Any issues at highway speeds?
Transmission temps get a little high on long sustained climbs at highway speeds. No issues otherwise. We're looking into the possibility of adding a trans cooler.
Thanks for the video! Looks sick. I have a 1958 and want to put 285/75R17. They are 33.8", do you think i will have any issues with no modifications? I do moderate off-roading and took the mud flaps off, thanks again!
I don't think you'll have an issue. No guarantees if you remove sway bar links though. :)
It actually kinda bothers me that the 1958 doesn't have SDM.
Hi can you make a video fitting a 285 75r17 on a stock suspension as well without any simple mods for clearance.. Tia!
You can't carry a 35 tire under the spare?
Sweet. Did you modify the hitch cover? Did you remove the spare tire from underneath since I assume 35s won’t fit in the spare compartment?
If you measure ground clearance at the rear pumpkin what do you get with the current setup of 35s?
Are you sure the offset of your wheels is +40mm ??
The 35" tires on +40mm wheels so they would stay in the wheel wells. The 38" tires we just installed are on +25mm wheels. A lot of cutting was required to fit the 38s properly.
Mud flaps are like training wheels for little girls
The truck looks leveled. Did you guys do a leveling kit as well?
Not in this video. It was completely stock suspension wise. The newer videos with the green wrap it is sporting a prototype lift from Icon.
It really reminds me of a Jeep Commander.
Do you think if you went 17 wheels the tires would clear no problem? I have this same model and trying to figure out what would be the best size offset for moderate to moderate heavy capable on trail not full send rock climber
The wheel size shouldn't affect the tire fitment. I know @iconalloys just put out a tire fitment guide for the LC250. I'd check their IG and YT. :)
Do you have any issues with shifting gear on those tires ?
None. :)
Looks savage on 38"
It really does! We'll reveal the new mods at EXPO PNW this week!
@@dissentoffroad this os the beginning of this platform I ain't wonder where all this end up 🤩
why a car manufatrurer not optimize an offroader for 35''s?
yeah you can have the bronco with it's superp turbo engines if you're ok with engine failures
Curious to know mpg with new tires?
We did get a lot of miles on the 35" tires to say much. 17mpg seems about right. It's sitting on 38s now.
Dont forget its a v4.
Inline 4 but yeah. It's been pretty impressive so far. Even with the 38s. :)
can 34 or 33s fit without trimming ?
Looks like it.
33s should fit no problem. 34s would likely require similar modifications as our 35s but a lot depends on your wheel and tire choice and how you plan on using the vehicle. Removal or disconnection of the sway bars will likely changed how much you have to trim. - Justin at Dissent
Ben, my first edition is also stuck on a quality control. 5 week delay since original date of arrival in Sacramento. Dealer won’t tell me anything. Do you have any idea what this means? It’s such a vague reason for delay. Still no update on arrival.
That's why Ben went and picked up this 1958. He got tired of waiting. :( I has to be related to parts/features that are not on the 1958. Sunroof? Radar sensors?
looks much better with the 35s on there. how bad did it hit the MPGs on the 4 cylinder by going up to 35s? im in a Ram Rebel now, but been looking at these LCs and the GX550s and was thinking of trying one out once its time to let go of this truck.
@@jeebugorn: I have the GX 550 Overtrail and put 35s on it with a Westcott preload collar lift and a +35 offset on 17 inch method bead grip wheels. My mileage is gone from 19.1 MPG to 16.9 and I won’t be surprised if it goes a bit lower. I think it looks awesome with a 35s.
@@frankburch5104 dang, even still, that’s better than my truck. and better than another youtube video where they were saying they were getting 14mpg in the GX.
I would stay with 33s on the LC 250 with 17 wheels
does rough country sell a 3" lift for these yet?
I hope not. LOL
do you guys do installs at your location or just fabrication ?
Mostly fabrication but we do installs sometimes as well. Stellarbuilt usually does the installs in our area.
Okay I'm looking at a 1958 tomorrow so checking things out because I have a problem when it comes to leaving my vehicles stock😂 I'm in Auburn so thought I'd check in with you guys
@@jessesuarez1719 Right on! We'll get you set up.
Did you try a zero offset to see if that will fit ?
We didn't. A +0 offset will very likely rub depending on tire choice. That pushes the wheel nearly +2" outward.
@@dissentoffroad did it feel sluggish w the 35s. Just got my LC patiently waiting for your bumpers.
@@adrianaguilar6052 Not really. You can feel the heavier wheel and tire but the iForce system helps combat that. We just mounted up the 38s yesterday so we'll see how it handles those.
Hi, what about the center bore diameter of your rims please ?
95.1
@@dissentoffroad
OK, thanks .... but the stock diameter is not rather 106.10 ?? ... so, no shimmy at on road high speed ?
@@coryhenry6454 Where did you get that info? From what we can find it is 95.1. Regardless, they fit nicely with no shimmy or wobble. :)
@@dissentoffroad
Ok, you're right, it's 95.1 ...
On the other hand I'll be interested by 33/12.5 R18, on the same wheels as yours (Recon SLX), with stock suspension, but + 25 mm offset ....
Do you think it will fit ??
@@coryhenry6454 No worries. I was genuinely curious if our numbers were off. We haven't test fit that size tire but we believe it will fit without rub. The main concern would be the inside corners at the rear of the wheel well. Looks like there is plenty of room, however.
Toyota made the new LC and GX 550 difficult to upgrade with tires and bumpers. I want to put 37's and off-road bumpers on my 2024 Lexus GX 550, but third party manufactures still haven't developed suspensions or bumpers. So far, rock sliders and roof racks are about the only things to hit the market. I'm sure all the cameras and proximity sensors create additional challenges for bumper manufacturers. My GX 550 Overtrail only has 8.9" ground clearance and mediocre approach & departure angles. So these new products can't come fast enough for those of us that want to build out our trucks.
We have a GX550 scheduled for the full offroad treatment. Toyota/Lexus/SEMA garage hosted a measuring session where industry people could come and 3D scan the 250 and 550 before they were released. A lot of cool companies were there so rest assured, products will be coming soon. Justin at Dissent.
The vehicles are barely hitting customers and you expect them to have all that stuff already? Companies like ARB take their time developing/testing stuff so when it comes out it’s better than the competition. Give it a couple years and you’ll see stuff but don’t expect everything to come out as soon as the vehicles released.
if u are having a hard time and others arent, its prolly a user issue
