Just a question that what if a customer damages a battery or the battery gets internally or externally damaged?. Then for this what are the majors are taken?
There are only two ways battery swapping will work. One, there has to be a battery standard agreed by the entire industry for each class of vehicles so that all EVs are compatible with the standard and scaling can be done efficiently. The other way is to become absolute monopoly and have the power to control the majority of the market. Neither of these seem to be plausible. Also, once 250 km buses become common, battery swapping will become unnecessary. Right now, you can point to the fact that batteries are costly and hence using smaller ones makes sense. But when you scale it, the battery swapping stations will become a major logistical problem. I could be wrong.
I agree. With battery tech improving ,all this effort could be redundant in a few years time. Swapping is a solution only as long as the range of the vehicle remains insufficient to last a full day.

Great reporting. Next time check with sun mobility, how they plan to secure their property from vandalism. Because i have seen there are cases of vandalism against the drive yourself fleet services in cities, and once vehicle goes offline due to lack off power all hell breaks loose. I can see individuals using Bounce helmets on private vehicles and zoom ebikes stranded in middle of km long flyovers or dumped on the side of roads etc.
I understand those guys in the background are moving in and out for the sake of this video...but what scooters are those? I would definitely like to have scooters that have swappable battery compatible with what Sun is providing.
There were KineticGreen’s electric rickshaws, Hero Electric NYC Electric scooter , Ampere Electric scooter testing in the background. Those were actual tests and data gathering not acting for video :)

The major flaw with battery swapping systems is that the provider has to maintain huge inventory of batteries once the number of users goes high to ensure availability. So if you are going to maintain huge number of batteries, the provider should have infrastructure to change them quickly. But here is the flaw..... If the battery can be charged quickly, there is no need to remove it from vehicle and hence no need to maintain the huge inventory! Once we have fast charging solutions, this battery swapping business is going to fail.
Right now it takes minimum of 2 hours for complete charge .. so swapping within 5 minutes is a winner ... And quick charging technology is no where nearer

Battery swapping makes good sense. Only drawback I feel is you need enuf stock for all the cars that will come for a 'top-up'.
