    No offense but: I just clicked on some other video on your channel and the first thing I was informed of is "this video is sponsored by 1password". Although I love the way you present all pros and cons and I don't want to doubt your integrety, the fact that you get sponsored by 1password (for other videos) and here in this video it turns out that 1password is the best password manager (although it might be true and just your pure unbiased review result) leaves some sort of aftertaste on my tongue.

    Suggestion. Do one of these videos for beginners. Why use a password manager? How it works, maybe even a bit of tech. And for this video - does your review recommendations apply for all devices (iOS , android, Mac, pc) - I need a good one that will work for the family which use multiple types of devices.

    I am committed to ditch Norton Password Manager (formerly Norton Vault) after almost 8 years. Yeah, I know, Norton... Not the best company privacy-wise but the password manager was out there before these got popular, and it was bundled with our AV subscription. It got me captivated with its convenience after using it for so long.
    But things have been getting really weird with them lately...
    1. Exactly the same import/export issues you mentioned for Dashlane,
    2. They vanished their standalone Windows software overnight and switched to browser addon,
    3. You can't import THEIR older backup files because of proprietary file format and removal of the standalone software,
    4. Current version accepts importing .CSV file but doesn't export a .CSV file :') (my brain reached its limits at this point)
    5. You can't find ANY info online, that isn't outdated, about any of these issues thus you have to contact support,
    6. Support wants to connect to your computer to "fix the error" (there is no freaking error, just tell me what to do)...
    It was long due, Norton..
    From what I've read, Security & Privacy communities advise using 1Password and you've come to the same conclusion. Thanks for the great video. I'm so excited to switch!!

    I don't recommend Authy for 2FA TOTP. Aegis and 2FAS are great alternatives, and neither requires you to divulge your phone number. Also, Twilio (Authy's parent company) was hacked recently. Some of their reps were phished, and for some reason they weren't using 2FA. That's pretty bad optics, in my opinion.

    I am reluctant to use a password manager because if it get's hacked you're done. Ofc they aren't easy to hack but I feel like since they are the jackpot hackers will focus on how to hack them more and eventually this will happen.
    Hence I prefer to try and memorize many strong passwords. This is really difficult and I keep forgetting some and thus have to reset passwords a lot, but ultimately that's safer.

    A vault is somewhat more than just the ability to "categorise" your passwords. It provides segmentation for sharing scenarios for one. For example, as a business, we can have a shared business vault for passwords that all staff need to access, and I have a "manager" vault that myself and my business manager can access, so that for those important passwords, there isn't that risk of losing access (obviously that requires implicit trust in the person(s) you share it with).

    • @lugoheriberto
      @lugoheriberto 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wait, I thought you would need the master password to unlock any of the vaults. How are you sharing just one vault? I'm curious because I wanted to do what you said, but I'm not gonna share my master password. And I thought that ability would come with the friends and family upgrade?

    How does a password manager work with a smart TV, where you’re accessing your Netflix account (for example) through the TV and not a browser? Does it work? It's a tool that helps you to administrate all your passwords in a secured way (they have encryption and usually a vault that you can only access with a master password). The difference with Chrome, Firefox or Edge browser password manager is that it is more secure (as you can only enter with your master password) as it makes very very difficult for hackers to steal this information. I've been researching about them quite recently and I'm considering using Bitwarden as it is the one that looks more intuitive, with a better premium price and best reviews on the internet, too.
