I understand truly! I was one of the technicians to be deployed to Desert Storm, Deny Flight and Bosnia (N.A.T.O.). Brooks AFB, TX Aerospace Medcine was our main training site then (1987-2001) We never went to Wright Patterson AFB. Times have changed.
My husband was in Bosnia (N.A.T.O.) in the Army. He was reserves then. Tells me it was FREEZING cold.
...this is a job for Hazardious material??...ufff...looks like i dodged a bullet on my health yearsss ago!
Four Bee's hooah!
I guess it's better now that it's at Wright Pat instead of Brooks,YUK!
I was a 907X0/4B0X1 for 20 years. From Feb 1982 - Mar 2002. During this 20 year career I was stationed at six seperate assignments and was a Veteran of Operation Desert Shield & Operation Desert Storm. The only negative thing I have to say about the Career Field, VERY difficult to cross-train out of due to manning shortages. During my 20 year career, I applied for and was accepted to several other special duty career fields, but EVERY time I was not able to -cross-train out due to manning shortfalls. I was approved for the following careerfields but never was allowed to leave my Bio career field. The Career fields approved: Military Training Instructor (MTI), Technical School Instructor, and Recruiter. Back when I attended Technical School for this career field it was located at Brooks AFB, Texas located in San Antonio.
My dad was on the USS Nimitz during Desert Shield and Desert Storm! I am currently in the process of joining ROTC at Oregon State, but can't figure out if I want Air Force or Army! Thanks for sharing your experience as a Bioenvironmental Engineer.
