My first introduction to your work was watching you turn your Biggest turning. Now after watching this video I am hooked! Fantastic work and great videos as well. Looking forward to following your videos. Thanks for posting, they are amazing pieces of work.
Great job Ashley. I like the way that you incorporate health and safety so easily into your processes without making it an "over the top" issue. Good common sense.
What a delightful way to slow down after a long day at work. You are truly an incredibly talented artist. Not only are you beautiful but very good at your trade. Deep respect.
That was a massive piece of wood and it turned out great. Interesting that something that size was made as a solid blank (massively heavy) instead of a segmented piece, which would have saved wood and weight. I've done that before myself with pedestal tables, but I've never turned something that massive. Scary!! Walnut is such a pleasure to turn. Really love the figure in the finished product. Thanks for sharing this!
You're seriously one of the most impressive wood turners I've ever seen. Great stuff. Apologies for all the dudes that can only muster a comment about your looks and not your actual skills.
fantastic turning , Miss Ashley you are amazing , easy on the eyes as well . I am not gona lie , I would be scared to turn something that big . I really want one of those hood/full face cover air filtered devices your wearing .
You have such an amazing talent Ashley! I love listening to your videos and watching you turn wood. That was a very nice ad too! Happy Holidays to you and your family.
I'm so glad I found your channel, super impressed with your work! WOW you really go big or go home! I subbed already and will go back and see what other videos you have done. And hope there is many more to come!
Can you spell to small, very impressive work you have done. Thank you for sharing your amazing story, love it. Merry Christmas and God bless you and your family
Wow you have some serious guts spinning that much wood. haha I have zero experience with this but your videos really inspires me to expand my thinking. thank you!
That was most enjoyable. Love the respect given for such a large turning. That little bracket behind the tailstock; - very clever, super idea, well done. If you would be so kind and share a little information on that face shield/respirator system. That looks a really neat piece of kit, I'm doing a little research and undecided which one to consider. Thank you Ashley, Ireland sends good luck & blessings.
Hi from Australia 🤗 This is absolutely amazing the process and planning that goes into this. The very first video I watched of you turning was your first big turn for the family that wanted the large round table to hand down in the family the one when you got to visit them and the table at there home. I thought that was amazing did realise that it could be so dangerous. I have a question when you glue the wood together can it over the years come apart if so how do you prevent it? Thank you for sharing I think what you do is awesome
Some skill, yeah. But turning something that size is more a matter of nerve. Takes guts to tackle the big stuff like that. Even she gaf-taped the heck out of it. Oh, and it takes a rather sizable lathe. My 12x38 couldn't even mount that blank. I mean, the head-stock turns, on mine, but with out a tail to help support it? Heck no!
Unable to sleep at 4 in the morning, stumbled onto the Borolo video, now I've watched a few, I gotta say, I'm smitten!!!! After 20 plus years woodworking, half the same turning, and I almost never see women in this industry, let alone such a beautiful and interesting, talented and intelligent woman!!!! I didn't see a ring on any finger, I recently became a jewelry maker as well as artist and musician, my new purpose is to design, cast and put a ring on that finger. Tell me if there's an incredibly lucky partner in your life before I fall for you completely woman!!!! Thank you for posting all you have, its renewed my love for turning!
Another awesome piece/video from Ashley Harwood! Beautiful! Just out of curiosity, when he walked in to see the table base you made from his blank, did you say "TA DA!"? (is that one word or two?)
I'm very thankful that you started your channel. It brings me back to my Grampas homemade lathe that he taught me on so many years ago and how much I miss the hundreds of hours in his shop with him. Thank you Ashley
Nice job turning that huge blank. I'm just wondering if the blank could have been "coopered" up, instead of a solid piece as something that large is quite likely to crack in the future. I have turned a few table pedestals myself, (probably in the hundreds) with an old converted metal lathe, most of them had fancy fluting that was cut with a big 3 HP Porter-Cable router mounted to the Lathe. Have turned quite few porch columns on the same lathe as well.
My heart tightened when I saw the drawing; it was so plain and uninspired. But the final blank was much better. I'm still a beginner woodturner, and I can't imagine turning something that enormous. (Also because I'm a bit of a science nerd and understand how much more momentum comes from the diameter and no just the insane mass.) Beautiful work as always!
Wonderful job, Ashley! One question--It looked like you dressed your CBN wheel. If so, what did you use? I did not know dressing these wheels was needed. I'd like to learn more about your technique.
Not sure which is more attractive, the pedestal or the artist. Beautiful work, Ash'.
That's a PAPR! I'm so amazed by this beautiful work.
Ashley, mortising the faceplate into the blank was genius. I hope you follow through and post the finished product-Ta Da!!
I think I’ve watched this 4 times, just can’t get over the size of this turn. Just amazing!
You have immense powers of self-control! Everything inside me would be screaming to put a finish on that!
My first introduction to your work was watching you turn your Biggest turning. Now after watching this video I am hooked! Fantastic work and great videos as well. Looking forward to following your videos. Thanks for posting, they are amazing pieces of work.
I had my lathe stolen years ago . I lost my drive to do much after that. You've inspired me to pursue it again Ashley , Thank You very much.
Go for it! If I had somewhere to do it then I'd get one too in a heartbeat.
@@steeveedee8478 ur right Steve , Gotta go for it again.
How are you making out 10 months later? Did you pick up a lathe? What did you get? Are you turning now? Got any videos?
Great job Ashley. I like the way that you incorporate health and safety so easily into your processes without making it an "over the top" issue. Good common sense.
Love how you have like a modern This Old House minisode kinda vibe.

Wow! That’s a big turning project. It will be beautiful holding up the table.

Damn, looking at this i start missing working on a lathe. it has a certain meditation to it.
Very Nicely Done👍

Very cool. Is th faceplate attached to the end grain? I always thought you weren’t suppose to do that. I’m pretty green though.
Amazing work!
