The backup camera setup I used is wireless and is prone to interference, especially when run in a spot with a lot of 2.4GHz interference like the back of my shop. I’d say it is always useable and 80% of the time it is clear. Most parking lots are not filled with 2.4GHz interference for instance. The upside of the wireless setup is that it is straightforward and I didn’t have to route cabling around a convertible top mechanism. If you pull wiring in, you will get a clear image all the time.
