I've seen the French lyrics for Un Monde Sans Danger all over, but I have yet to find the correct lyrics anywhere. So I created this video: these are 100% correct lyrics and a correct translation.

It's crazy how almost every language dubbing of the French version has a completley different meaning.
I wish English was made by the same singer of French , my opinion Could sound better
The problem is that songs need to keep the syllable count the same or it won't make much sense.
The overall meaning of the song seems to be the same, though.
From what i can see
The english version is pretty accurate
I mean english is the language that is actually the closest to french
Since modern english is compose of 29% of french and 29% of latin
Which actually makes it latin dominate despite that english isba germanic language
The best version of the theme is the french one
Both in meaning and on the sound
But the english version was good
@@heroeus8173 oh yeah yeah I dont meam they're totally different meaning the themes and such are very similar but rather than a direct translations most of the dubbings around the world "transposed" their own meaning of the song to their language while trying to retrain the original literal translation of the FR version.
English version:"We will win to save what is dear to us. You can always count on us"
French version:"We could very well die and our quest is to erase this world because it is dangerous"
This almost feels censored, but they probably really just wanted a more inspiring text for the localization.
Not really censored. From the wiki it states this:
“The French title directly translates to the English title. However, the English lyrics aren't a direct translation from the original French, and used to help to similarly fit the rhyme scheme in English.”
It would very well be censored a bit. I’d take the lyrics fitting the song tune. Either way both songs are great
maybe the French one somehow influenced by Garage Kid, which is the former/prototype of Code Lyoko.
the PV of GK having more dark/mysterious atmosphere than CL
French cartoon back then wasn't that censored
So yeah
The prototype was garage kids at the base
Much more dark
They made it for really young kids when they translated it. Same as most foreign cartoons.
The french version makes you know what is going on in the anime just with it's intro song
Now that's powerful
My french teacher originally showed this to my class at the beginning of grade four and I remember it being in all of our heads for the rest of the year.
Cool.
Great choice
That's so hype!
I want to give your teacher a medal
@Meep mop I wish my teacher did that
As someone who exclusively grew up with the English version, I actually like this one a great deal more XD
To behinds this version hits way harder. Makes me wanna look up the French version of the show with English subtitles
I'm imagining the holy moment, when all the singers and music producers where in one room back then to create this absolute masterpiece. Holy shit..
God I miss coming home from school and waiting for this show
TOO fr
I just realize that all my favorite cartoons were made by French: Code Lyoko and Totally spies
I thought Totally Spies was Canadian
@@grantmortensonva I’m pretty sure it is
Total spies, martin mystery, team galaxy and spies Z are Both french and canadian production

i literally took French in highschool to understand Code Lyoko without english dub or sub, it always made me sad that i never showed my french teacher this show to demonstrate the class :(
@Meor Adi Fimiyun they sound similar. Especially the code lyoko part. I’ll hafta look it up. Update: Noam Kaniel is the one who provided the vocals.
Why? Go see them. 😠😤
Dude. With the power of the Internet, you could find the teacher’s email and then email them saying you were a student, and wanted to show the show to them!
Perfect way to learn french
I agree. I cant speak a word of french but because of listening to this repeatedky i can sing this song. Im not gonna say perfectly but better than just speaking it xD
I agree. Same thing with any language. I can a little Japanese but only from the theme songs from super and some of the super sentai
@@JONATHANZU nice you're a super hero time fan or just super sentai?
@@Jay_D_Ashe super sentai. The only one I saw was ex-aid and build. But the others haven’t caught my attention
@@JONATHANZU ex-aid and build are really cool, yeah
This is fucking amazing. I never knew this show was originally French growing up.
If kids pay attention to the credits, you would have noticed "In Collaboration with Canal J and France 3" that are the 2 TV channels Code Lyoko originally aired in (btw I watched it on France 3 and France 4 growing up).
But now you can easily know that it all started with an end of studies project in 2000, and 21 years after, the fanbase isn't dead at all.
J'ai littéralement des frissons
C'est la meilleure chanson dont j'ai jamais entendu parler ! Continuez comme ça!
*nostalgia has entered the chat*
Honestly both the original French and English are great. Both have amazing lyrics
Edit: Came back in 2024, and wow. I didn't expect this many thumbs up.
The english sounds more "kiddish", instead of a more teen level of building a future. "make evil go away" is a lot less mature than "make a world without danger"
They're both great but for some reason I prefer the orginal lyrics in french. And I don't even speak it. I can read written french to a certain extent because it's similar to my native tongue, though.
@@kirknay That's a fantastic way to put it. I had never thought about the lyrics that way. But it makes sense.
Although both versions sound good, the French original lyrics have a deeper meaning
Sure it's a bit more kiddish, but the English one has a charm all it's own. You can tell just as much effort was put into it as the original French. I love both, and I get what you mean.
(( CRYING EVEN MORE. ))
20 years...
20 goddamn years…I’m sorry, but I can’t believe it has been that long.
Now I understand why the song is called "A world without danger" since I always heard the short ver in English and they never mentioned it. Thank you very much to the French for making this great animation, for many their favorite moments will be inside lyoko, for me it's when at the beginning of all episodes from season 1 to 3 they disrespect Sissi verbally or she does it and then karma acts back
I admit this song is the only reason I would study and learn french
This video is amazing, well done
man I had goosebumps from that, even sang along. Still love this song and I will never hate it! CODE LYOKO
J'ai rien à redire, c'est parfait.
I like this song SOOOOO MUCH!!
My first French lesson :)
I'm impressed people learn French with Code Lyoko (I'm French btw).
JE PLEURE 😢
The original ! The original version !

J'adore ce filtre autotune, il n'est pas utilisé à outrance et s'ancre bien dans la thématique
Wouw this is a so beatiful
nostalgia! i was watching the cartoon as a kid (nostalgie! je regardais ce dessins animés quands j'étai un enfant)
Un Monde Sans Danger
Yes... Just... yes...
J'adore.
Good work ! I like this song ^^ !
The English translation is better than the dub they used. It’s more relevant to show and doesn't make them sound like they are comic book heroes with an emergency number,
nostalgia i didnt know i had
There were several cover versions of this song ive been enjoying for months now. Theyve all been copyright claimed by Franck Keller. I realize they composed the song but F you for ruining my happiness. There was a particularly good French artist I listened to several times a day and was helping my depression immensely by singing along. I learned how to sing it in French just to emulate them. So thanks again and F you, Franck.
Thanks a lot!
Yes, I speak French and English.
I want it baaaaaack
Merci beaucoup
Ive noticed that after listening to the french version that the English version doesnt make a whole lot of sense with their lyrics
thanks france, code lyoko my chilhood
i’m from VietNam with love ♥️
I personally find the english lyrics very meaningful, especially the line. a world of machines, it can shatter human nature. It fits so well in this day and age where the majority of the world has gone crazy, and everywhere you look, someone has their face buried in a cellphone, and the way they're using automation to replace all human workers which is preventing any physical interaction. So yeah, the english lyrics make a lot of sense to me.
In a weird way, I think a mix of the two meanings would probably produce the best lyrics somehow.
CODE LYOKO MAN!!!
Looking at the lyrics as they're pronounced, there are so many sounds and words that sound identical to Japanese, but mean something completely different. For example, un ira, un sorra sounds almost like on ira, on sora (which could mean "sound of movement, noise in the sky" theoretically)
Also for english speakers, think less German with your pronounciation, and you'll have an easier time pronouncing French. It seems to be more about the flow of sound than the precision of the lettering. French speakers feel free to correct me if wrong.
@Gildas-Roélie's Channel Thanks for the input. The main thing I was concerned about is that most people I know who hate French do so because a lot of the letters are either ignored or sound completely different from what they are used to. Most people I speak with about it focus on single letters that throw the flow of the word into disarray if you speak it normally, which is why my focus was to think less German (another precursor for English)
OMG TOUTE MON ENFANCE
I love the english one, but I kinda like this better.
This version feels very different, doesn't even feel anything like the English version.
It's because the lyrics are different that's why you will get that effect
Actually most countries used different lyrics aside of the big lines like
"We will go,we will know and a world without danger"
The english version got censored
The french versions clearly says they are going out there with all their courage risking their lives so that they can make a world without any danger
While the english version just says everything will be fine
@@heroeus8173 Idk, the part of the chorus that's like
"Here we are, going far, to save all that we love. If we give all we've got, we will make it through"
does kinda convey a similar sense of urgency. Like, these kids know they are the last line of defense between XANA and their families. And they have to do their absolute best just to survive.
It's a pretty dark show once you think about it
@@aardbei54 that's what i'm saying
The english versions says they will fight those for they love and they will make it through
But they censored the part where in the french version they clearly narrates about risking their lives
On the overall both versions have different lyrics aside of the main lines
Great!!
PARFAIT
As an American who grew up with the English dub I have a great deal of fondness for the English version of the theme song, but I like the original a tad bit more.
The lyrics are a bit darker for sure but also quite poignant. I especially like the bit in the second verse "We'll have to be brave and help eachother, but just know that we're risking our lives". Really makes you realize how brave these kids are, they're barely teenagers and they're fighting to save the world from this unspeakably evil program who hates humans just because they're alive and no one even knows about their constant brushes with death
Also reminds me how much I hate Evolution, bc it lowered the stakes to a RIDICULOUS degree imo and XANA basically becomes a spare prick at the wedding as Professor Tyrone is foisted off as the actual antagonist 🙄
Here's a challenge, put this together with the creating Utopia scene from Charmed
😢 i will listen to original country of the show, respect,
but english version is good but must respect the country created code lyoko😢
Indeed.

*difficult
It depends on the person & how adept they are at language. The more they practice, the better they are. Some words might be hard - and the younger they are, the easier it is for them to learn so start early. Yet it's never too late if you put your mind to it - you can do anything!
@@loicdum8312 It's not hard for me, but then again, I spent about 2 years teaching myself japanese, and spent a little time learning some terms from Russian and German, which might help me adapt to new sound combinations. I know for a fact that a lot of Americans can't pronounce things correctly though. (ex: calling kubota Cuhboto, or Hyundai whondae)
@@kirknay yeun dai, thats literally how its said
Now someone's gotta make video using the English dub full theme but replace the choruses with the french version choruses. Or a extremely accurate translation then turn into a video
Thank you! I've been looking for a version that's actually a translation, and doesn't just paste the English version's awful cornball lyrics.

WHY CAN'T I FIND THE FRENCH VERSION DUBBED!? 🤧
look for eng sub. It'll be the original dub, but with english subtitles. This has worked for me in Korean, Chinese, and Japanese so far.
I managed to find a version with spanish subtitles and top video quality. I speak spanish so I didn't look any further. If you can get a hold of english subtitles or are otherwise interested, I'll be happy to provide you with a link to that version (last time I checked the download links worked like a charm). Since the spanish subtitles aren't embedded in the video itself you can easily deactivate them (or if you prefer get rid of them alltogether).

The latinoamerican spanish version of the song is better
it sounds horrible, stop lying, the singer lacks strength and it seems that he is inside a blender for not saying that the lyrics are pitiful
No joke serbian is the best version
I prefer french or english but everyone has their opinion 🙂
Spoken by a serbian 😪
