I always liked Dennis Miller's style. He was fantastic on SNL's Weekend Update, and I enjoyed that he'd cheerfully sprinkle in little hints of having an education which were just bonus jokes for whatever random people out there caught and enjoyed that reference, and if nobody enjoyed the reference, that's okay, he'd throw out another soon enough.
