J, what a great cover of this song and the way that you uniquely make it your own with your signature so majestic and awe-inspiring that no one else can compete with. I still remember back in 2001, I was 17 or so at the time, and after a show in Tempe, AZ, we had a brief interaction, and it was awkward because since my younger sister wasn't able to go to the show, she asked me to give you a stuffed animal, and so I handed it to you, and I told you how you are my biggest inspiration for where I was going with my guitar work. Years later, I remember reading an interview for a guitar magazine, I think it was, and someone asked you what the weirdest or strangest thing a fan had ever told you was, and you said that someone once told you that you inspire them musically, and that you don't know how you could inspire anyone. How could you not? Your music touches so many lives. I know you really helped me find my way for my own music-making and I thank you.
My husband just sent this to me at work and it made my day! ❤
💜
„Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me“ is full of great B-Sides, and this is their best. Good picking from J. I just wish The Cure would've played this live at least once. Seems J is a big fan of '87 Cure, as he did a cover of THAT BIG HIT of that era as well.
I read somewhere that this is the ONLY Cure song that has never been performed live even once.... Not sure if that's true.
@@zachfazzio5055 There are still some gems unplayed. „To The Sky“, „Icing Sugar“, „Play“ …
He covered "Just Like Heaven" (that big hit) first. I love his cover of "A Boy With the Thorn In His Side". His Eddie Brickell cover of "Circles" is one of my favorite covers he's done. He's a Gram Parsons fan just like Evan Dando too!
Fantastic cover. For those that don’t know this is a Cure song. Was a B side, but I can’t remember of what. It’s on the Join The Dots compilation. Disc 2.
It was the B side to Catch.
Catch was uk and German, I think. I had this on the b side of just like heaven. I had a lot of imports from the era. Maybe it was a cassingle or some other cassituation
I'll never forget when I saw you live. Love you J!
I saw Dinosaur Jr with Mike Johnson in '93 at SOMA in San Diego (loudest concert of my life) & then a year later at The 1994 Warfield show touring Without A Sound. That was the best performance ever!!! Again with Mike Johnson on bass. I have a great backstage photo of J on the spiral staircase playing a vintage Telecaster. The sound at that gig was just exactly perfect. Not too loud. Played an encore of all of Living All Over Me! First time I met him was outside that show. I was 20 & drove down from Humboldt County to catch it. I caught a few of the Solo J shows when he drove himself to the two So. Cal gigs in his tiny Subaru. Casbah and Troubadour he just pulled up, popped the trunk, and pulled out his Martin & some pedals, lol. I saw a few J and the Fog gigs with Watt. Great live Maggot Brains!!! Then when Lou came back I saw them over a dozen times in So. Cal. Greatest guitar player ever in the indie scene. I love his most recent LP a lot. Anyway, Dinosaur and meat puppets from '87-1994 were my favorites. A long with JGB, The Grateful Dead, JAZZ legends that have since passed like Jimmy Smith, Steve Lacy, Kenny Burrell, Anthony Ortega, Brian Blade last year in a 100 seat library, Yusef Dayes was phenomenal!!!!, etc. So much quality music out there right now if you have taste. The new Sonic Youth record sounds awesome!
If anyone wants to know J transposed the song to the Key of A and the Chords are A F#min D Bmin. It's a pretty simple song, but a fun one to play and I really like the solos and the way J plays this song. Great!

Cool chill track from the best guitarist ever!
Thank you J Your the best.
Everybody has interpretations. In my mind this makes me think of how much I miss the 80s and 90s. Those times... even the late 70s. I wish it could be like that again, everything. Even slow internet. Slow internet forced us offline to be more social with real communities.
J for president 🤟😎
With platform shoes and Marshall stacks.
Of the universe!
This beautiful, J never disappoints.
J Mascis is unique.
This art is awesome. I am listening now.
Hell yeah. Love you J.
Wake up honey, J just dropped a track!
¡Qué cosa bonita! 🥺🎸🙌
Always wanted to hear a guitar version of this..
Gentle monster. Thanks for the music.
💚
Nice when songwriters appreciate eachother. I would never have put these two together though! When I went to a hall of residence at college in the late 80s all I'd hear was The Cure from the gothy kids so I'm kind of fond of the memories. And both bands are still going which is nice, and I'm still going too! Massive Dino Jr fan btw.
This is great!
Thank you Jim ,this b side deserves it.Wonderful Cure cover.Been heard last saturday on my single.
Thank you J ❤
Beautiful, bravo
Cure cover. Nice.
I saw it, I stopped what I was doing. I listened.
Thank You J ❤❤❤❤
Incredible
God I love his voice. J Mascis you can sing my brother
I remember once in an interview, J said he likes even his acoustic guitars to have sound kind of mild overdrive sound to them at minimum ..
but here, he doesn't even have that. so I guess he 's finally reached that level of sadness. rip. haha
thank you!
Brutal!!!🌹💎🌹
Love you, J. Hope to see you live one day. Much love from Arizona. 1.30.25
