Thanks for this. I saw a cigarette lighter plug-in cable in the box. So I assume that you don't have to install the permanent wire to use the Garmin on the bike, correct?
That connection is thrown in so you can also use the Garmin on your car. If your bike has this outlet it should work, however I recommend hardwiring the connection better, it's safer and more convenient.
Thank you so much for this review! I currently have a Zumo 660 but wanted to upgrade to some of the features on the 390 and you helped me to confirm my decision to upgrade...safe riding to you my friend! Also, did you ever get the VIRB camera? If so, what are your thoughts?
+hawkeyeC4 In direct sunlight you wont be able to see almost anything. You would need to tilt in on an angle that deflects direct sunlight or use a sun cover.
+Hawk eye I wouldn't buy it again, I think it is overpriced for its features and has many limitations. Unfortunately bikers only have 2 choices in GPSs, this one or Tomtom and both are basically the same. Check my Garmin Zumo review that explains this in detail th-cam.com/video/l_ObPj9N9DY/w-d-xo.html
+Hawk eye Well I chose the Garmin for 2 reasons 1. Most of the riders I ride with use Basecamp and share GPX file routes 2. Tomtom has no compatible software for Mac OS They also say that Garmin has the best satellites in the industry, that I cannot testify, but with the Garmin I haven't had any signal coverage problems.
ok. gracias. ..pues entonces el zumo ..es mas barato y lo lleva todo para ponerlo en la moto o coche. lo bueno de tomtom es que tiene mapas de todo el mundo y zumo de Europa solo.
you know what this fuckingg sucksss i bought that gps for a birthey and when i unboxed it and plugged into the computer it doesnt reconize anything just fucking shitt
I have this GPS on my bike and find it great and very user friendly. Have just updated the maps and firm ware with no need for an SD card.
Thank you SO much for this info. I just bought one and after his explanation thought it won't work.

cual es mejor este zumo o el tomtom rider ?
El mejor es el más barato, ya que en realidad ambos son muy parecidos. A mi me gustó más el Tomtom Rider por que es más sencillo e intuitivo.
