I remember seeing $2.32 in my checking account on my phone and wasn't getting paid for a whole other 3 weeks. One of the roughest moments in my life. But one day I blasted Rock Bottom and just took a drive around my neighborhood for probably a good half hour, just rapping along to the same song over and over. It was one of the most therapeutic moments in my life and I felt a lot better afterward. That song will always have a special place in my heart. And it's always the song I bring up when people claim Em has "no relatable content".

I think the reason why people prefer Older Em is because he didn’t take himself serious. His first 3 albums is unlike anything you’ll ever hear from any other rapper. His wordplay, storytelling, humor, and clever lines all while being playful, was just the perfect formula. It almost seems his new music is WAY too serious. His focus on being as technical as possible is why his mainstream appeal has declined. Once again tho it’s 100% understandable, he’s older and not drugged out. Eminem the goat 🐐! To some people THIS or RELAPSE is his best album 💿 both certified classics tho,but for me I prefer TES myself, but this is also a masterpiece in comedic timing, storytelling, rhyme schemes, wordplay and overall syllable rhyming, your dad looks happy in the thumbnail soo I guess he laugh a lot with this one, your pop is the greatest 🔥🔥
Relapse is not even close to a classic lol his rhyme schemes are top notch but 10 songs about brutally raping women doesn't make for a good album regardless of how good the schemes are lol but my two favorites are the marshal mathers lp and the Eminem show so I can agree with you there
@@kellycortes8730 RELAPSE is a classic for sure, its his second best album for me behind TES, i think you don’t really get the concept and the idea because you clearly are confused about the topic, THE WHOLE ALBUM happens inside his head where his darkest thoughts are, that’s why you see him talk to himself in so many different tracks in the album, not everything you hear its face value and most of it its a metaphor or a double that he makes it fit PERFECTLY while keeping the serial killer theme alive towards the whole album, its about his deep thoughts going through withdraws and suffering from hallucinations while in therapy that why when you hear the skits or watch the 3am video the doctor is always asking him if he is alright and if he is all there, like that album also has some of his most deepest songs like DEJA VU, MY MOM, BEAUTIFUL, CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR and MY DARLING, its some of his best storytelling and vivid imagery that he has ever done, filled with amazing rhyme schemes throughout, some of his best doubles, metaphors and similes that he draws in comparison to him and a serial killer are some of the best i’ve heard in a artist, its his best incorporation of MARSHALL MATHERS, SLIM SHADY, EMINEM and KEN KANIFF, he combines those 4 alter egos perfectly in this album throughout, now that i think more about this album and the more time passes i think its in the level of TES if not better, certified classic for sure, A MARVELOUS MASTERPIECE🩸
@@mandiletoni4963 Na I truly understand that, just because it's his dark thoughts it still doesn't make lines like "fuck you with an umbrella and open it up while the shits inside ya" more enjoyable lol Eminem has constantly said how bad relapse is as well, as far as Eminem albums go, slim shady lp marshal mathers lp 1 and 2 Eminem show recovery and revival are all EASILY better then relapse, then you can argue encore and music to be murdered by are better, it's easily his worst album, but that being said his worst album is better then most people's best, my darling and beautiful are fantastic, of course there's some stand outs from the album, but the subject matter and accents alone diminish the work. Eminem was in one of his worst mental states ever making this album so it's understandable. But insane talking about getting butt tucked by his dad, same song and dance and we made you are just trash, even em said he never wants to make a we made you again lol beautiful deja vu careful what you wish far my darling are the for sure standouts but look at the tracklists of his albums and tell me medicine ball or bagpipes from bagdad really compete with 90 percent of his discography? They don't, album isn't bad by any stretch but a classic is a bit much to me, the Eminem show to me is the perfect example of an incredible album front to back
@@kellycortes8730 dawg again you seem to have a problem with the subject matter and that’s on you, if you don’t like it I can’t change your mind, i love the album it’s perfect for me beginning to end its top 2 or might even go as far to say that’s his best and its a certified classic for me and many people as well, and its okay if you don’t like it we have different preferences,i love it and you don’t, I ain’t here to change your mind about sound and subject matter which is something subjective, now to the things we can measure and see, it has his best rhyme schemes and its a fact because we can prove it, it has his best storytelling throughout the album since 90 % of the songs are telling a story and keeping a intricate 3-4 syllable scheme, it has its best metaphors and similes, soo i cant put recovery nor mmlp1 or mmlp2 over it, and as far as revival hell no that shit its mediocre in EM’s discography let alone be compared to a masterpiece like Relapse, but as i said if you don’t like it then its up to you dawg I ain’t here to change your mind, it’s okay we are not going to have the same feelings and opinions especially about music, all good to you lad
@@mandiletoni4963 relapse is his second worst album. It has good rhyming only. The rest of the lyricism that you see in later albums is non-existent & the good content from sslp-tes was absent for the most part. Eminem himself calls relapse his worst album although I'd argue encore edges it out as the worst.
Such a great album! Back in the days I was watching MTV US Charts and suddenly “My name is” was on the screen. Instand love story. I wrote down all infos I needed and went to my favorite record to order it when school was over. It was a great store with an excellent selection but I could show them some US rap stuff😅 Eminem got so much love for older uncle Ronny who killed himself. He introduced him to Hip-Hop and sparked the fire. An Eminem fun fact: Dina Rae who was featured on the track 13 of several of his albums also released a mixtape on the German Hip-Hop-Label Optik Records.
Yeah, Em came up with the Chorus for My Name Is on the spot when he heard the beat. Which is crazy that one of his biggest songs started like that haha. Even people who don't listen to Eminem if you ask them to sing something this the first thing that comes out of their mouth. Either this or Cleaning Out My Closet.
I wonder which album you would choose to play your dad from eminem's newer work. I hope you play him relapse because that album is so unique and people either love it or hate it. Great reaction as always!
Encore is my favourite Eminem album overall would be great to see a reaction to that. Even Eminem criticised the album himself in an interview a little while ago but still my favourite to date. Like Toy Soldiers would resonate with your dad 100% love the videos keep up the good work bro ✅
Encore is over-hated but to be perfectly honest tracks like toy soldiers, mosh, mockingbird are all very good songs but I think it’s such a mix bag of good songs and terrible songs that for me it’s not in my top 3 but I do still enjoy parts of encore.
wasn't no dollar signs in Dre's eyes, he had just flopped hard with both the Aftermath compilation and The Firm, people were telling Jimmy Iovine to drop him, and all of a sudden Dre wanted to produce this blue eyed blonde white guy, people thought he was crazy, but he put all his last marbles on Eminem and My Name Is won a grammy.
@@BridgingTheGapYT It's easy to say with 20/20 hindsight that it was gonna work but there were no guarantees, the execs at interscope were doubting him, saying it wouldn't sell, so I doubt he saw a cash cow, he saw something he liked and hoped the world would like it too, despite what the haters were saying.

I just watched your Eminem show video, and now I'm here. It hurts me that you're dealing hate from fans. This is the Best Reaction of Slim Shady LP on TH-cam. Congratulations! PS: All the people who say that Eminem hasn’t make good music since The Eminem Show confuse me. To me his absolute worst album is Revival. All the rest is either Ok (Recovery, MMLP2, Kamikaze) or Good (Bad Meets Evil, Relapse, Music To Be Murdered By). And you have to realize that even the albums that I consider Ok have most of his biggest hits and commercially acclaimed song and albums.
Please react to one of his newer albums. Recovery, Kamikaze, or Music to be murdered by. You’ll see how much he’s improved as a lyricist. His new stuff is 🔥

I would definitely like to hear you both listen to Hell: The Sequel with Eminem and Royce 5'9", only just to hear the deserved shade Pops will throw at Bruno Mars 🤣🤣🤣
You know we all want to see your pops keep going through all Em's albums, and I'm pretty sure he's down for it cause he's just having a ball. And I think you're digging it more than you maybe remember, I see you vibing with the flows, and you know the wordplay is always on point. I think actively listening to Em is different for you. His music isn't normal 'cruising in your car building a vibe' music, I get it, but it's almost always good for a laugh and something to be blown away by. It's better when you're 'listening' to it rather than just hearing it.
97 bony and Clyde is after kim not before,,,, and it'll be dope if u let your father listen to relapse l, recovery, mmlp2, kamikaze or mtbmb without telling him you consider them bad, he may have a different opinion
The Hell: The Sequel album from Bad meets Evil (Em & Royce) might be worthy of a video. Would be an entertaining reaction. Love that album, those 2 compliment each other perfectly. Role Model is my favourite track from SSLP
I think The Game- The Documentary would be a dope album to do next. It fits with this era and is another great piece of music Dr. Dre helped bring into this world
funny that your dad asked if any of it was real after listening to Brain Damage. He was bullied by D’Angelo Bailey whom he mentions in the song and as a kid was knocked unconscious by him that left him with cerebral hemorrhaging

19:25... pops made a solid point, it just wasn't formulated so it strayed away into something... "why they getting on him but they didn't get on biggie".
It was a great store with an excellent selection but I could show them some US rap stuff😅
Eminem got so much love for older uncle Ronny who killed himself.
Your dad is down to earth seems like a great guy.
wasn't no dollar signs in Dre's eyes, he had just flopped hard with both the Aftermath compilation and The Firm, people were telling Jimmy Iovine to drop him, and all of a sudden Dre wanted to produce this blue eyed blonde white guy, people thought he was crazy, but he put all his last marbles on Eminem and My Name Is won a grammy.
So ur saying he saw an opportunity to revive his career and make money?
@@BridgingTheGapYT It's easy to say with 20/20 hindsight that it was gonna work but there were no guarantees, the execs at interscope were doubting him, saying it wouldn't sell, so I doubt he saw a cash cow, he saw something he liked and hoped the world would like it too, despite what the haters were saying.
@@BridgingTheGapYT go watch the documentary “The Defiant Ones” and that will tell you what you want to know about Dre’s and Eminem’s history.
@@BridgingTheGapYT hope I don't come off antagonistic, I really enjoy your content, and getting a reply is just A1. Keep up the great work :D
@@HStalhane haha nah you good fam I like having these convos with you guys
Y’all bouta go through all his albums 😂, recovery gonna be a dope listen for y’all
Yall need to keep doing this format. Your dad cool af, you guys keep it up and the sub count just gonna grow and grow.
Your dad gonna like Ems new stuff, I understand the disconnect with the youth, but with your dads taste he gonna appreciate the production and the technical aspects of Ems newer albums
Seeing you and your dad connect over mr nems nems music always puts a smile on my face y'all. My dad played some eminem for me while I was growing up and these vids always take me back to those moments :)
Every eminem album is different. His discography is immaculate. 🐐
His 1st three albums are immaculate. The rest? Good, some shitty. not immaculate at all
@@freddiebarry93 the difference between his newer stuff and older stuff is consistency. Almost all of the songs on old albums were at least good, there is fantastic stuff, immaculate stuff and shitty stuff on his newer album. Like if you look at something like the MMLP2, bad guy is creative af with one of the greatest verses of all time but then you have berserk
@@freddiebarry93 Relapse was fucking great, Em at his best, recovery was okay, MMLP2 was really good and MTBMB was really good as well
•stares in Encore•
@@Likablock1507 encore is different at least
About dang time! 🤣 Be watching "for sure!"
Rock bottom is Eminem’s most underrated song💯
ON GOD
As The World Turns is so visual and amazing. He slapped that.
All right guys it's time to do Snoop Dogg Doggy Style it's just time definitely in my top three favorite albums of all time not even just rap
Yo! you guys make magic! I love it! You got a great Dad who's taste for details in music are fascinating. Consider an episode where Dad shows YOU some deep cuts. I bet he has some jams. Yall keep rocking! This is a dope concept.
"Music to Be Murdered By" -Eminem
Would be fun because it's the most recent album from him. It hits a lot of points in his past and his struggles with addiction, his hate for his father, His mental state and over all just a great storyline. Thank you for your videos it's so fun to just listen to you guys talking and your dad's reactions!
I was at work on my break when y’all dropped this. You got my automatic like because it’s like it’s all brand new watching your dad react to Eminem for the first time. It was definitely a great time to grow up in.
I think it's unfair to call someone out on there work for having bad ones cause that's what makes you great you don't learn and grow with out flops. Em went platinum on 3 albums in a row and 2 of those went diomond. Em is the 🐐
My youth
'85 baby from Grand Rapids, MI
my personal ranking on ems albums are
1. TES
2. MMLP
3.RELAPSE
4.SSLP
5. RECOVERY
6.MMLP2
7. KAMIKAZE
8.MTBMB A
9. MTBMB B
10. ENCORE
11. REVIVAL
Revival was Woke Political Eminem and it was really really bad, not just bad for Eminem standards, bad for all standards 😂🤣😂🤣
@@degenerate.3574 he was always political, but yeah that album was ass
@@degenerate.3574 Eminem has always been political and woke, and that was great. Unfortunately, the album was not up to par, sonically.
Recovery isn't better than mmlp2 lmao, not even close
I know they don't "count" in official albums but Infinite and SSEP are by far my favorite projects to come from Em.
I just watched your Eminem show video, and now I'm here. It hurts me that you're dealing hate from fans. I didn't necessarily agree with your opinions, but everything you said was your opinion and completely valid opinions to have. Fuck those haters, man. The relationship you and you pops have is awesome. I love that you can come back and listen to these old albums. Keep it up. Much love.
Bro your dad‘s got me dying over the 99 Bonnie and Clyde! Hahah
His best work IMO. This one is just honest, hungry bars.
I was 16 when the LP dropped and I only listened to this one album for a year. My favorite. Greetings from Germany
Ayoo I did not expect this
Been waiting for you guys to do this one 🙏
Can we get a Run the Jewels album on the channel? 👊🏾🔫 Really digging the content!
"Kim" is a prequel to "Bonnie and Clyde". Kim is already in the trunk by the beginning of this B&C98.
Please react to one of his newer albums. Recovery, Kamikaze, or Music to be murdered by. You’ll see how much he’s improved as a lyricist. His new stuff is 🔥
I agree, it is kewl to not like Eminem nowadays. My best friend shits on Eminem all the time and he is my best friend that I know doesn't even listen to him. He does it with all White rappers for sum reason, It's fk'n weird 😂🤣 lol.
@@degenerate.3574 they hate without actually listening. It’s just become a trend to hate on em
He may be more ‘fast’and more technically skilled in his rhyming, but his flow and cadence in his early days can’t be touched! His flow is so smooth!
OMG y’all did it!!!
Subscribed. Loyal. Appreciative. 🙏🏻
Role Model is prob Em's best song lyrically imo. The Lauryn Hill line is top notch.
Your comments on them telling Em to tone it down and the Biggie comparison is one argument I’ve made constantly if ppl talk about the content of Ems music
Have you heard his diss songs like quitter ? Nail in the coffin ? Em is a diss track master
Role Model beat was so good it made Pops visualize an entire Club and business model 😂
recovery is a slept on album pretty good
kamikaze is some really good rapping
only ones of his newer albums that are really good in last 5 years or so
Recovery was 12 yrs ago fam. & mmlp2 exists lmao. MTBMB also exists.
@@youngbricksyg266 damn that long ago already sheesh
MMLP2 was okay not that great
MTBMB was just okay to me too
Your Dad, is epic! Your so lucky! I wish I had a Dad, like yours x
97 bony and Clyde is after kim not before,,,, and it'll be dope if u let your father listen to relapse l, recovery, mmlp2, kamikaze or mtbmb without telling him you consider them bad, he may have a different opinion
Kamikaze is 🔥🔥🔥 The whole album is a diss track.
Love the channel, such good vibes. Always look forward to these album reactions
Easily my favorite Eminem album.
The Hell: The Sequel album from Bad meets Evil (Em & Royce) might be worthy of a video. Would be an entertaining reaction. Love that album, those 2 compliment each other perfectly. Role Model is my favourite track from SSLP
You have to put him on to lil Wayne carter 2 and carter 3
Hell yeah have they done any Lil Wayne yet?
Carter 1
Pops knows a good rapper and talented lyricist when he hears it. He’s seeing no color, he’s just going by his soul’s reaction. Love it.
I think The Game- The Documentary would be a dope album to do next. It fits with this era and is another great piece of music Dr. Dre helped bring into this world
Loved your pops reaction bro 😂 most of the songs on here are some of Em’s best work in my opinion. Hope you guys are doing well, much love.
Nas-Stillmatic album review. Let's get it.
Best hip hop album ever
funny that your dad asked if any of it was real after listening to Brain Damage. He was bullied by D’Angelo Bailey whom he mentions in the song and as a kid was knocked unconscious by him that left him with cerebral hemorrhaging
thanks
😂😂😂 love this bond . Pops and son .
the amount of jobs eminem gave out to youtubers blows my mind. He should get an award for that too.
Love when you guys react to Eminem, Would love to see reactions to relapse or mmlp2 maybe even kamikaze
Bedford, England 🇬🇧 yo I love your dad man the guy has a serious ear for music and he can sing too. Keep it up! Love ❤️
Oh shit!!
You guys are great. I appreciate your opinions and honesty. It's nice to see family getting along.
Real quick though, Detroit is Midwest.
Love and peace.
6 minutes slim shady your on this album
is mostly just considered as the worst of the big 3 but i think it’s great and is one of the best albums in 1999 prob my second favourite album from that year first being operation doomsday but sslp is a close second
You talking MMLP, TES, SSLP? Cause ya those easy his best projects lol SSLP is tied at 2nd for me with TES. SSLP is definitely a classic
Oh and one more thing. Just the two of us is after Kim not before. At the end of Kim he's dragging her body to the car. In just the two of us he put her dead body on the car and is driving to the lake. I don't know if someone said it in the comments already.
Do new eminem next. Kamikaze or MTBMB Side B
19:25... pops made a solid point, it just wasn't formulated so it strayed away into something... "why they getting on him but they didn't get on biggie". He probably cannot say it because of the current culture... but he was thinking... it's ok if a black man says it and young black boys/ men follow. But a white rapper that is influencing young white buys/men. Woah woah you can't do that
I feel like the son doesn't like eminem as much and he was trying to undermine him when your dad was saying he's the best he's listened to.
Dads a real g
