    Thanks for the video! Capturing the audio in a way most audiences will record this with their phone gave me a good comparison to the stuff I've recorded in practice/gigs.
    Also, clean shuffle!

    Just bought the add on tom pack to go with a converted marching 20x8 bass drum to make my own cheap mini kit. Can't wait to gig with it. Nice energetic and flowing playing.

    This line of kits is weirdly perfect for rock

      I know right? It’s sneaky how well they work for it!

      @@BrianDaggett found out the secret is that the lighter the hardware and the thin shells give that old school tone. At first I thought it was a cost cut but it seems to be why it sounds so good. I currently got the floor Tom tuned super low which works good but I have to adjust the bass drum because I muffled it to indoor levels..

    sounds good. you got a preference between the hydraulics used on the toms in vid 2 VS the ec2 in this video. im leaning towards the hydraulics for my bedroom basher

    • @BrianDaggett
      @BrianDaggett  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Hard to say. The hydraulics sound great through a system, where the ec2s sound good raw. Tough call. The Hydraulics will definitely add some depth and warmth to the shallow toms for sure!

    Can’t decide between this or the Yamaha Stage Hip Custom! How does that bass drum perform? The larger diameter of the Yamaha has me leaning that way, but it is shallower! Decisions!

      From my personal experience with these kits, I absolutely love the kick drum. It’s an 18 inch. It’s just the right size even though it’s a little bit more shallow, depending on the head you put on it, you’ll still get that low end out of it. I’m not trying to persuade you on your decision but I do have 2 of these drum kits that I use on a daily basis when playing and I have no complaints. If I was to change anything about the set up, I would make the floor Tom, a little deeper. 14 x 7 is a little too shallow for me. I have to put thicker Heads on the Toms to get some Depth but other than that I’m very pleased with the functionality and set up.

    Great playing dude, have you found the kick drum loud enough? Some people are saying there is a bit quiet.

    • @BrianDaggett
      @BrianDaggett  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Simon Papaleo with the right kick mic and heads, you can make it sound pretty big. Honestly but it self with no mics it can be a little quiet for sure!

    I'm surprised at how that kit sounds! It sounds like a normal sized kit. I love your playing you have the groove and the funk down not many drummers have that they just go to technical metal. But you my friend have that finesse. I was thinking of getting myself something along this for its compact ability and low volume. I want to have a kit that I can use for busking and be as quiet as possible. If I dampen them a lot and use dry cymbals fo you think it will be quiet enouph? I'd like to keep the volume as low as possible. I even thought of putting some of the remo silent stroke heads on and using the ziljan quiet cymbals but that may be too quiet. Tips and or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Sick playing! Great chops dude! You keep the stock heads on the bottom? Also on a scale of 1-10, where are these drums in volume compared to a traditionally sized kit?

    • @BrianDaggett
      @BrianDaggett  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much! I kept stock on the bottom on this kit but the other club jam that I have, I swapped out with the EC resonant heads. on a scale of 1-10 I would give it a solid 7. Smaller sizes means smaller tones but if you put mics on this kit you could definitely EQ it to make it beefy! Also using the thickest head on the kick drum and some pretty thick heads on the toms will definitely beef up too. Obviously if using it for jazz you could use some 1 ply heads and get some great tones out of it as well.
