Thanks for the comment. Never had a problem with the dashboard back-light (not sure how they call it) try to look for some videos on yt or forums.
Hope you can get it working.
Once I did open rhe dashboard to fix the speaker and saw some smd leds in there. I guess you would need to have spare leds of the same size and color and do a bit of micro soldering.
The speaker was a long time ago and probably only have some photos somewhere.

I'm not sure what protocol your car uses. Some of the bluetooth interfaces might work but you'll have to try or find a video with the same car. My polo didn't work with anything other than a vag com 409 interface - name is approximate. Wired connected to laptop is a bit of a long story. Some parts or car shops will do a scan for free so you don't have to.
