But my hair starts to raise whenever i see then drill or cut a hole and don't grind down the sharp edges and no primer, paint or sealer is being used to protect the bare metal.
@@3DPeter Just yesterday I bought a 1965 mustang fastback with the pony interior. The guy who had the car had bought a 1967 Chevelle from me about 40 years ago. I found his for sale listing on craigslist where it had just been listed three hours before. The car was about 25 miles away from me so I shot over and checked it out. I had some good items that I was willing to offer plus $7000 and he took it. The car has all the new sheet metal, floor pans, rear quarters, front fenders everything accept the engine and trans. I am thrilled and have done four mustangs to this point plus I am certified in corvette restoration by Bloomington Gold Corvettes. I never thought I'd ever find a 65 fastback that was a good deal.
@@TheGeonam love to see so videos of it up here on TH-cam. Even if it’s just some walk arounds and what not. Congratulations on the find my friend, and keep it in good order as they are getting harder and harder to find. 😔... American muscle is really changing now days.. 😳
Right Ti nice to work with new components When. You have the money 💰 company s. Given the part s to build car 🚗 on the show. When have new parts all round you. Ti must be nice to work with new parts
Fuel pump is 80g an hour to a 6lbs reducer to a carb. A bit overkill don’t you think. This is like having a water hose going into a bucket and sipping the water with a straw
We always ran the coolant overflow tank into the frame rail OR properly onerboard so any water wont get under a tire and cause a crash. Also like the poly coolant that operates at low/zero pressure.
This car is badass! Made me a little nervous when the kill switch tab was tacked and weren't wearing gloves. I kinda feel like some of the accessories were an after thought, drilling into fresh paint when everything could have been mocked up before and drilled/painted over right away to prevent rust from forming VERY quickly. But I digress it's still a kick ass car!
The drive shaft is not a “ RECIPRACATING MASS It’s “ ROTATING MASS “. There’s a huge difference , recipracating = is a forward then backward motion , like a hand saw would work . ROTATING MASS is just that , rotation . It goes around around around ! Just remember this about a light drive shaft .. you get the obvious weight reduction but what you lose is INERTIA . A heavier shaft will help with “ free rotation “ . Lighter shaft will still rotate freely of course but would stop its inertia rotation sooner than the heavier one..
Man it's sssooo clean.....I will not ride the car out of my home, if I have one, I'll put in the clean glass air-tight room, sealed with 32 carat gold. And just for eyes catching only.....😎😎😎
What's the point of the shifter extension.?? The old bloke was miles away from the pedals and the yound guy firing the car up was slid all the way forward with his clutch leg extended as straight as it could. That seat needs to come about 6" forward.
Surprised they went with a live axle, that was a clear performance compromise on the build! The 9" they used is better suited for straight line performance!
Nope , depends on , weight torque…. There are many advantages to a live axle in some situations , try a pan car with ir = last place , daytona cup car , injected sprint cars , 1965 to 1970 mustangs vs 1965 to 1970 vets (many tracks , many years , so much proof ) better for tires , maintains alignment, more durable , typically less parasitic loss.
This show actually aired YEARSSSSSS ago. Here is a follow up episode that says it has track time. www.powernationtv.com/episode/HP2010-05/mustang-track-car-on-course
Why did you go with a solid rear end when you could have put in independent? If this is a pure track day car, wouldn't you get better handling going with independent.
1:41 - get into a wreck with those seats and you're pretty much guaranteed broken ribs and/or a punctured lung.... It must have shoulder supports at a minimum.
Great job man but I really don't like the Two tone Paint Job my opinion it throws off the whole Car 😮 i knows what you guys are thinking 🤔 Opinions are like A Holes i GET it Awesome MACHINE
I can't even begin to image how nice it must be to assemble this Mustang with all new components, bolts, washers, and nuts everywhere!
It be fun 😸

All the holes drilled after paint should get a touch-up of prime and color to prevent rust creeping out later...Just sayin.
@@Grunt49 Anything worth doing is worth doing right. Looks like a show car to me.
swab some axle grease on it before placing the grommets.
saw same, thought same ... there´s the rusting base
This car will probably never see rain.
@@williamsizemore98 it don’t have to rain there is moisture in the air. And it will oxides 👌🏴

That paint is all over the place

Show .......!
Parabéns a Equipe !
Bonito trabalho, esse Mustang ficou único !
that Robert Redford can rebuild a car, amazing!
Gorgeous paint scheme. Looks familiar to me. Like Parnelli Jones or maybe Dan Gurneys ride from the day....but I could be confused.
I'll go the other way. That is pretty darn fugly.
Its sick.....beautifull..
Everything is new..
Glad to see a Moroso system on this one, he was a great guy and friend.
All that work and still no cup holders
That looks one of those GET OUTTA MY WAY cars
I would like to see all the receipts for this build.
probably they spent more money that you need to build a small but good house.
@@darkangelmexico i’m thinking 100-150k parts and labor, crazy
I wouldn't be able to ignore the bare metal on the holes you drilled
Lol...that was my 2nd though after watching...but those are the only stains on the white vest ;o)
That and the abysmal fuel line run. It was a really great 17:50 commercial for all the dealers that gave them parts for the plug.
Amazing automobile engineering.
I can smell that paint job from here
I love this build. It’s a nasty ride.
Awesome job on the livery.
Love the color nice build
Actually, the driveshaft is rotating mass, like the flywheel, it has rotational inertia, not reciprocating mass like the pistons.

Beautiful car
lol @ less reciprocating mass with an aluminum driveshaft, since when do driveshafts reciprocate?
About as often as my wife does........lol.
What a beautiful car
Reciprocating driveshaft. Cool.
Das auto ist sehr wertig👍❤
Should’ve got rid of the Leef Springs. I’ve got leaf spring on my wagon which a Horse tows
Awesome job guys

Link?
No...this is an old show
This was filmed probably 10 years ago....
Can you share with me the red paint the code for that please love that colour
Can you add links to the components you installed?
what happens when the overflow tank dump valve fails and dumps coolant/water on your front tire?

Not a ford lover. But that is nice
What a beauty
I would have gone with a ACI front end , could have eliminated those shock towers.
that's a really nice red
Where can the front and rear suspension be purchased?

Curious on the 'cost to build' price for a machine like this.
Between $25k-$50k if I had to guess. The body is $17,500 no hood, no front quarter panels, and no front facia.
Hey mike would like to see some 04 to 06 pontiac gto
Cool👍
Probably should treat those drilled holes with something.

To much madness
3:05 Drive shafts don't reciprocate.
Lock cylinders. There are no “tumblers” in car door locks. Just sayin.
Blue would be a better color for the paint
fuel injected less headache and it runs better. The color why red? It’s to bright.
You really going to leave that shifter set up in there?
Why did you go with a solid rear end when you could have put in independent? If this is a pure track day car, wouldn't you get better handling going with independent.
At least coil overs with a better controlling set up. But I guess it might be in the class rules they plan on racing.
Nostalgia rules
Sorry if i missed it, but what organization and class is this going to run in?

Hmm, a non-collapsible steering column on a '68 car. Don't even want to think about a crash!...
To bad this classic wasnt built to be a street hot rod instead of a race only car.
It wouldn't be too hard make it road legal.
