Hey Justin…love your content and I’m enjoying beta testing Flipwise.
There are so many similarities in our reselling styles/products and experiences.
I have been using the eBay QR codes as my default shipping option. I have so much better success with avoiding“lost packages” using QR codes at the counter or at the self serve kiosk. It takes only a little more time but well worth it!

I love this topic! I'm still waiting for a big stylist or prop dept person to find my vintage items and buy them, I know it's gonna happen. Last month, I sold several items to an LA restaurant owner who was going to use the vintage decor to decorate his restaurant with and I recently sold some MCM flamingos that will be used in a Palm Springs wedding, so I thought that was really cool. Not quite for props, but still will be seen by others!

Oh ya, it was so cool. My Grandma sold 15 suits (old style Classic Burberry, Brooks Brothers, Lord and Taylor etc suits) at one time to a big movie studio wardrobe buyer two years ago. She was tickled pink. Took my Aunt and I a few hours to help Grandma pack it nicely for shipping. Best sale she had past five years of selling. True, there are some people who ask a million questions but out of the 20 grandma had like this only one did not purchase. So sometimes it's good to answer the questions, even if answer is already in listing.

About your missing package... It may still be on its way but the tracking is not updating.
If USPS doesn't scan a package as accepted, all further scans will not update on the online tracking that customers can view, but all of the scans will still be visible via their internal tracking system. When you open the missing package inquiry, USPS will investigate using their internal system to narrow down where the package's last known location was.
Hopefully, your package is still on the way to your buyer and isn't actually lost. If it is still on the way, you will only be able to see all of the scan updates AFTER a delivery scan is completed.
I work for the post office and sell on ebay. I found this out the hard way when a buyer asked me for an update exactly like yours did here. Turns out, my station is no longer scanning packages as accepted when they are dropped off in order to save payroll... They only scan them now if they are received through the counter. I now scan my own packages as accepted so my buyers can see the updates. Hope this helps/makes sense.

    • @ypcomchic
      @ypcomchic 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

Your office is doing g illegal stuff then because all packages are supposed to be scanned. Even the dropped off ones supposed to be scanned at the window scanner not hand scanner. Breaking rules to save payroll is a disservice to the customer and post office- without that scan there are no updates to customer which causes more people to come in wondering where there packages are which USES MORE PAYROLL. It’s a waste of time he’s doing to try to save payroll and needs to follow DMM procedures wise.

There's a famous thrift store in Montreal that has such good stock that Hollywood set designers and wardrobe people fly in to check her stuff. To the public, she is randomly open for 3 hours at a time here and there. This place is legend and in an unexpected neighbourhood. Anyway, all this to say, I want to be the online version of her, like how you're on set designers' radars now.

I actually have learned in my years on Ebay that on clothing if am asked a question I block them because you are way more likely to get a return if they ask questions that are clearly in the title or pictures. I wan't to say 50% but there is no way that is accurate but I don't keep track of those metrics..lol

Hi, Justin, thanks for your video. A few months ago, a buyer asked for details about an item, multiple backs and forth, different questions. All these details were under the listing. I also thought that it would be hard to please this person so I checked their feedback left to others. they had so many negative feedback that I removed the item in question. I told the buyer the item sold on another platform. Not my policy but I wanted to be careful. Regarding the shipping saying USPS waiting for item, I’ve experience that a few times, 4-5 days later, it updates with “Delivered”. Everything in between missing. Just as I am entitled to my opinion. I think that treating a buyer with respect and answering a question is in your own best interest. How long does it take…maybe a minute or two? You might make the sale and you might not. And if you don’t, it may be that your clarification allowed the buyer to realize that it is not the right item for them. I would rather have that happen then get a return down the line. And if the volume of questions is keeping you from doing better ‘thngs’, perhaps your ‘discriptions’ are not as clear as you think. I’ve sold some sports cards to the athletes parents before. That was cool especially when the parent was a pro athlete as well.

Hi Justin. Thanks for the very informative videos. I, too, have been selling on eBay for well over 20 years. I'm on the cusp of retiring and moving more into a full time eBay operation. I noticed you are using something called Flipwise that tracks your sales etc. Can you tell me anything about it, cost, ease of use, etc. I see it is only available by invite right now. I am working on setting up an inventory system now, but if this has better features, and is cost effective, I would prefer that.
Again, thanks for the great vids and any info you can offer would be greatly appreciated. 🙂

Just discovered your Channel! Top rated plus 15 year+ seller. Feel the same way you do about messages. Just sold a prop to Netflix for a sci fi film. It was a Super Nintendo

New to watching and when you are figuring the roi I notice the math doesn't work. How do you calculate your seller costs under your purchase cost? This seems to be where my math gets bent. Thanks in advance!

selling costs are all fees plus shipping cost. here is how ROI is calculated: help.flipwise.app/article/9-how-does-flipwise-calculate-roi-and-net-profit-margin

I've had this happen and the package was still delivered but never showed up on tracking. I went to the post office and the mgr got on her computer and printed out the tracking and sure enough it was delivered. I refunded the buyer, found out that they got the item, reached out to eBay and still have heard nothing. It was a $112 some cassette cd boom box, new. Idk what to do.

@@justinresellsI’ve gotten approximately 2k random items to sell (I’ve accumulated them over years) but never started my shop up.
I have practically everything you’d need to start, the only thing that stopped me was creating an inventory system from the beginning.
I got a label system from #0001 to infinity, but yet to implement.
I would love to sign up for it, using it in conjunction with physical records - can’t wait to see it launch for the public.
Thanks for all your hard work and dedication to this project.
