I don't know if this is intentional (probs is) but I love how tom's note doesn't go down like the others. "It belongs to my boyyyyyyyy" just keeps going up until it ends, whereas everyone else goes low before the note ends. Like "it's my little boy- friennnd". It's a hint that Tom is going to be the only one to free himself from Wiggly's madness.
I think it might be bcuz the fact that he doesn’t want the doll for himself,, while everyone else is pretty much singing for themselves, except Linda, it shows that wiggly can’t fully take control of him cuz of it. That’s my theory at least
And as is so often the case with the Lords In Black, it shows that a lot of what makes him scary is how effectively he takes advantage of things that are scary about humanity.

One thing I like is that out of all the shoppers, Tom is the only one that mentions his kid-“It belongs to my boy”. Even through the delusion he’s still thinking about Tim(even though Tim never wanted the doll but yk) Everyone says the line “My family will love me” but it’s still out of selfishness by thinking about how they’ll be treated.
@@iexist3588 Not to be an ass, I'm kind of an outsider to the thought process of the commenter, but if I were to generalize and use the context clues provided here, I would surmise that the main commenter is using what is commonly referred to as a "metaphor," saying that one thing is another, in order to draw the mind to similarities between the two. Examples might include, "She is a tiger," or "he is a demon." If you define or understand gender in a very simple manner, such as the belief that gender is just male and female, in two drastic extremes, or that gender is determined by genetic sex, this comment will make less sense. I am not a direct experiencer of the complexity of gender, but I am aware of some of it, please permit me to poorly summarize in a manner that i hope will drive you to seek further knowledge on the subject. Basically, Gender is a social construct, in the same manner that "House," is a social construct. You may wonder. what does that mean? What we refer to as "House" (I invite you to imagine the most true manifestation of the concept of house now.) is a broad collection of characteristics applied to a physical form. A house is a _structure_ which is _occupied_ by _one_ or _more_ humans, _provides shelter_ from the _sun,_ from _precipitation,_ and from the _heat_ or the _cold_ outside. Beyond this though, nothing about a house is standard, plumbing is not needed, electricity is not needed, however essential any person may consider these features. More importantly, an object is not called a "house" for any reason other than us referring to it as such; so even more essentially, a "house" is what we _observe_ and then based on _our feelings_ about this observation, _refer to_ as a "house." This argument can be expanded to refer to anything which we have a common name for. We refer, for instance, to many types of plant as "trees," despite them having almost no genetic similarities with other "trees." What is a "tree" is what we call a "tree," no more and no less. Names are a title given to an object in order to enable us to talk about that object in a way that matters to us. Your name, given to you by your parents, or in some cases, chosen by yourself, is what people call you, your name _IS_ you, it is what your brain uses to refer to you when you think of yourself. Other names, too, may be applied to you throughout your life, wholly against your will. "Jerk," if you insult someone, "friend" if you fill them with joy, "tall" if you tower over them, "short" if they tower over you, etc. "Man," "Woman," "Boy," and "Girl" are also this way, a title and name applied to others by observers arbitrarily so that the story they tell themselves, usually referred to as memory, and sometimes told to others, makes sense and is not bogged down with lengthy exposition every time they think about or refer to a specific person or object in their mind or aloud. However, as we already brought up in the part where I explained (perhaps unnecessarily, if I were not making this point) how names work, and as you may have noticed in your time on the internet, people are fundamentally different from houses and trees. People will often feel that the name they have been given, or the labels they have been given, are incorrect (and when this is the case, the degree to which they take offence at the inaccuracy is unique to each individual, do not assume that different people will react the same.) And so they will request (or in some cases demand, as is their right) that their labels and names be changed. Of course, any person may refuse to respect the wishes of others, being a dick is a right that everyone also has, and no, I am not assuming you are one, or that the others asking for explanations are dicks either; some people are just out of the loop and ask to be informed. Please continue to ask questions, and indeed, to improve the structure of the questions you ask to squeeze more meaningful information out of the people who will respond to you. Cheers!
@@iexist3588 As for how the song itself relates to gender, I feel like many metaphors that it is quite messy, but that chaos and vastly varying interpretations of the purpose of the wigglies is certainly analogous, at the very least.
