Maybe next time actually show these techniques rather than simply describing them.
Apparently bumblers do not need to see how it’s done. It’s for pros only.
Do you really need your hand holding ...painting by numbers

Yes, I completely agree here. The instruction is really basic and made for those who like to skip across the surface, or his contractual obligation required some video time. So the other comments here are generic, and that’s being nice. Each piston requires a relative alignment across both the lateral axis (aligned to the same side piston), as well as the gap control across the pairings of the piston’s relative to the brake rotor. Using a screw driver is dicey and in reality removing the tire and using a spacer tool is critical here. If you’re on the trail and you have issues, a shim that you can get from your local shop for under $10 will do the same presented here in moments. So ideally, if you are maintaining your bikes brakes, bleeding and alignments, Park Tools videos are significantly more edifying than this Pinky thing. Hope this helps.
People still have their feelings hurt about something said in a podcast from a while ago? You guys should move on…
That's what I'm saying! So sick of seeing the same old boring comments about this absolute nothingburger controversy. You can tell most people commenting haven't even listened to the podcast episode in question.
I know why those brakes were bad. It’s because they had SRAM written on them 😂
SRAM fix. th-cam.com/video/AY80Zt47M3A/w-d-xo.htmlsi=lJqLuTihGfl97Yqz
I always know i can learn something from a Henry video. Did not know about the trick of putting grease in between the conical washers to potentially stop the caliper from sliding. Thanks!
It really helps if your rotors aren't bent. And sometimes (pretty rarely) you may need to re-face the callipers where they mount to the fork / frame.
Yeah totally. More powerfull brakes typically have less pad movement, so straight rotors is espacially important. A whole car could pass between my GF's MT200 (obviously not hehe) but my Hayes A4 need to be dead straight or else they rub.
Some frames paint job is so bad that is goes on the mating surface. Sometime, all it takes to take the excess paint off.
It's so easy to do on Hayes dominion brakes with their cross hair system. I also find that very clean piston helps a lot. There was no lazy piston on my brake when they were new. It was another story when I changed the pad a few months down the line.
Right on both counts there. That Cross Hair System is genuinely brilliant and yet so simple.
Now THAT is an excellent tool board! Clean, well-organized and nice. Notice what's missing? Uh, I hate to even say it... peg board! YUCK!
Excellent, havent seen this synchronizing tip before. Thanks
Now show the procedure for a 4 piston brake. I've never been able to make all 4 of them move at the same time.
Same here
I don’t take advice from non professionals
good thing these guys are actual professionals!
👍
Now i can fine tune my brakes when i go bumbling down the trails. Thanks pinkbike!
Hot take! You definitely listened to that podcast and definitely formed your own opinion. 👍🏿
@slide_drexler don't give up!
Here to learn how to bumble through brake maintenance
Non professionals telling us how to get our brakes better lmfaooo 😂
… Henry was/still is a professional bike mechanic …
Mong😂
Just make sure you dont do it if you're not a professional (or pinkbike)😂
Pointless!
Why is it pointless?
Definately not pointless, makes a true difference in brake feel if pistons are moving at different rates.
Off to buy me a baby screwdriver 🪛 👍
