She also had filming for The Wheel of Time and other projects. Plus she's a mum to a small child. So, I assume she chose to do the voice acting work from the UK instead of flying and then couldn't make the cast video recordings. I wish she'd been able to, and totally understand.
She is so very deserving of the title "Leader of House Kiramman" that it's wild she's doubted her merits. But then again, it's exactly this nature of hers that makes her worthy. I think her mom knew that, and understood the house would continue in good hands.

Martial law was called by the remaining members of the Piltover council, and the leaders of prominent houses. Caitlyn was legitimately appointed as the Commander during said martial law. Because she was appointed to that role through a democratic process and not by force, she's categorically not a dictator. The martial law was put in place in an attempt to arrest Jinx and put an end to the chaos between the two cities. And before the martial law, it was Caitlyn who persuaded the council to NOT use excessive force in Zaun, and to let her apprehend Jinx using a small strike team instead. That was her trying to find a less drastic solution to a problem. That's not to say she always made the right choice. She's definitely made mistakes along the way. Using the grey in Zaun to control the remaining criminal factions, allowing herself to be manipulated by Ambessa, and pushing Vi away for revenge. But she is in no way a dictator. People in this fandom have a problem of using words they don't understand, and accusing characters of things they didn't do. This show requires solid comprehension skills and critical thinking to understand. Please try harder to understand the story, and be careful of the words you use, especially if you don't know what it means.
This was edited beautifully. Highlighted Caitlyn's entire arc journey in Arcane.. Some people hate on her because she succumbed to hatred and longing for revenge but what they don't see is that it is very realistic and relatable in real life. These kind of feelings.. we tend to experience in real life and we forget ourselves and become a person that we actually despise in the process.. Her redemption arc was done so well when she realized what she has become and tried to correct all her mistakes and try to go back the person she once was.
yeah like why do you think the death penalty is a still a thing in a lot of country? When someone commit a crime like Jinx did in season 1 people would 100% go for the death penalty. Has for her " war crimes" i think people do not understand what a war crime is. I mean if she did use the gas on general population then yes it would be, but she went after the shimmer crime lords and Jinx. All are criminals it's not different then the no knock warrant our police do, not that it's not extreme and violent. She was blinded by revenge got in with someone that manipulated events to radicalize her this way, put people around her to manipulate her ( MADDIE). I mean you see Cait in act 2 arguing with Ambessa about violence making violence but she's stuck and does not see a way out until she sees Vi again.

Katie Leung is the perfect Caitlyn, they’re one, She made Caitlyn iconic, she was able to convey all of Caitlyn’s many emotions with her voice, there’s a lot of layers for Cait’s in season 2 that would require such talent to portray and she delivered with such passion and class! Seriously, some people cannot handle creative narratives that leave space for the viewer or reader to fill in the gaps. They're spoiled by major movie franchises that exposition all over the place.

I personally find that S2's narrative choice to "leave you to fill in the blanks" gets in tremendous contrast with S1's very clear and connected exposition. Some character arcs feel undeveloped and emotionally unexplored (such as Cait's dictatorship arc) while other are stretched in a single episode rather than segmented into a more cohesive design (Jayce and Ekko). Specifically, S2 Cait seems to backlash too harshly from threatening Singed to an inhumane cell treatment to seeking redemption when she finds out that "angry oil slick" Vi is still somehow fond of her. A lot of the story's weak points fall onto what the writers decided to show; I personally feel like Cait wasn't explored enough in her grief neither in her initial dictator steps nor when she started to realize what a monster she was becoming before pit fighter Vi hit the last nail in the coffin. It's could also be that Riot wanted to speedrun through so many world-changing events in S2, at the cost of leaving giant plotholes and characterisation moments behind, to start working on S3. And personally, idk if I'll ever watch S3 after they butchered Vi and the gang's story to introduce one with a simple white guy named Darius with no real great character design whatsoever.
It was so surprising to see Cait evolve into having a truly profound and beautiful character arc. Did not expect her to be one of my top fave characters after finishing Arcane. And this edit just amplifies my love for her! Somethings I want to point out: 2:52 Grayson asking Cait what is she shooting for and then cuts to Vi’s face augh my caitvi heart 3:03 The glean on her gun matching perfectly with the wave of drums 11:20 The music falling away as Cait says how she truly feels after an intense sequence filled with music and high strung emotions just *chef’s kiss*
This is an amazing edit. It shows her development. The trauma, how it changes you, and how diffrent it is for her because it was the first truama in her "perfect" life. But she pull through it and became stronger. I love Cait so much, i love every character in arcane cause they're so well developed

oh god the part where she asks "what are you shooting for" and the scene at 3:11 where she lets Sevika go and Vi asks why she did that (she uses the gun to protect people from harm). Then in Season 2 the opposite happens where Vi had to stop Cait from shooting Jinx and shes completely changed her outlook on what shes shooting for.

I love Caitlyn so so much! She's my favorite character of the whole serie and I started to play LoL, Wild Rifft and TFT just for her (I'm bad at it but I found out I like the games)! I've always loved Caitlyn's splash arts for the game since they've always been attractive and extremely beautiful, and then they showed this depth to her character through this show that speaks of why she's one of my favorite legends from League. It's actually surprising that you somehow managed to turn Caitvi into just good friends for a Caitlyn tribute. Edit: I watched this like someone that had never seen Arcane before, and if I hadn’t, I would have been surprised if someone told me Caitvi was a thing. I’m not criticizing the choice since it is a tribute, just surprised by it. Especially towards the end as the absence seems to detach the impact Caitlyn’s feelings for Vi and their interactions had on her character and the choices she made. It’d be like doing a Vi tribute without mentioning her sister or Caitlyn.
partly because Caitlyn is not only Vi's partner, she is a character with her own concerns, traumas, decisions and personality that is very important in the story, although I love Caitvi, every day I feel more proud of Cait, her rationality and to recognize that although Jinx has killed her mother and others, she may have changed and deserves a chance, demonstrating her love and loyalty to Vi with her actions, supporting her in her conviction that Jinx is no longer so crazy 🤷
They were really good friends, roommates even. Sorry, but this is about Caitlyn, her tribute was intentionally made this way because a lot of people reduce her character to just Vi's love interest. But I love Caitvi, everybody does, come on now.

Now, If I included everything Caitvi related in Caitlyn’s video, that would overshadow her story and the video would be 20 minutes long. What I find interesting though, is that if the roles were reversed and this was a Vi tribute, no one would bat an eye if her relationship with Caitlyn was sidelined to focus on the broader scope of her journey which is her sister.
Well it a Caitlyn tribute. She is not just Vi's lover but I find it hard to read the scenes shown in this just platonic. Very often they make these longing eyes that drove me crazy in s1.

I felt it was crazy how she went from bottom rung cop to in charge of...everything? Unless you're raised to be a politician/in charge how do you have a clue what's up- like how you're completely being used?
She was to be tried for crimes against the people of Zaun. And as a result of the trial, she was to be deprived of all (or most) of her property and exiled/ imprisoned.
In my point of view, Vi didnt deserve Cait's love when she constantly went behind Cait's back every time they coordinated. They were cute together, yes obviously but make one suffer and sacrify a lot for the other who kept chasing for her own family is not acceptable. Since she met Vi and Jinx, her life slipped to the bottom of the mug, but she still trusted and forgave Vi and Jinx for everything they did to her which led her from one to another traumas? Maybe Cait is too kind but I cannot love someone who continuously destroy my life like that.
Oh, I wholeheartedly disagree with this take. Vi is an amazing character, a girl that lost everything but still chose to be a soft and gentle woman in a very violent world. She loves and cares about Caitlyn, she deserves to be happy. Caitlyn might not be directly responsible for the horrors Vi and her family faced but the Kirammans and everyone in the council was. They oppressed Zaun, they got Vi's and many other Zaunites' parents killed. Their choices sealed their fate.

For instance, to Caitlyn’s mother, it was the legacy that mattered more than attending to the voices of every Zaunite. That was true for most of the citizens of Piltover. They were perceived to be driven by comfort and rank, both of which Caitlyn denied to misuse. So did Vi; she despised all those who risked lives of other people and called it ‘for the sake of protection’. Being caged in a cell since she was a teen, it was likely for Vi to be the person she was, maybe much worse. The fact that Caitlyn’s mother despite her reservations about Vi gave them both the permit to voice their concerns to the council talks a lot about her mother’s will to find a common ground between the two worlds. The fact that we got the ending with Zaunites and people of Piltover sharing the same council hall was because of Caitlyn’s mom, because of Vi and Caitlyn sticking together in the first place. The contrast between the two drove the plot of the series. I don’t see the reason to hate any of the characters for it.

I love Caitlyn so so much! She's my favorite character of the whole serie and I started to play LoL, Wild Rifft and TFT just for her (I'm bad at it but I found out I like the games)!

It's actually surprising that you somehow managed to turn Caitvi into just good friends for a Caitlyn tribute.
Edit: I watched this like someone that had never seen Arcane before, and if I hadn’t, I would have been surprised if someone told me Caitvi was a thing.
I’m not criticizing the choice since it is a tribute, just surprised by it. Especially towards the end as the absence seems to detach the impact Caitlyn’s feelings for Vi and their interactions had on her character and the choices she made.
It’d be like doing a Vi tribute without mentioning her sister or Caitlyn.
partly because Caitlyn is not only Vi's partner, she is a character with her own concerns, traumas, decisions and personality that is very important in the story, although I love Caitvi, every day I feel more proud of Cait, her rationality and to recognize that although Jinx has killed her mother and others, she may have changed and deserves a chance, demonstrating her love and loyalty to Vi with her actions, supporting her in her conviction that Jinx is no longer so crazy 🤷
They were really good friends, roommates even. Sorry, but this is about Caitlyn, her tribute was intentionally made this way because a lot of people reduce her character to just Vi's love interest. But I love Caitvi, everybody does, come on now.

@@NJVArtimations They are both a crucial part of each other's stories and their relationship deserves it's own separate tribute. Now, If I included everything Caitvi related in Caitlyn’s video, that would overshadow her story and the video would be 20 minutes long. What I find interesting though, is that if the roles were reversed and this was a Vi tribute, no one would bat an eye if her relationship with Caitlyn was sidelined to focus on the broader scope of her journey which is her sister.
Well it a Caitlyn tribute. She is not just Vi's lover but I find it hard to read the scenes shown in this just platonic. Very often they make these longing eyes that drove me crazy in s1.

In my point of view, Vi didnt deserve Cait's love when she constantly went behind Cait's back every time they coordinated. They were cute together, yes obviously but make one suffer and sacrify a lot for the other who kept chasing for her own family is not acceptable. Since she met Vi and Jinx, her life slipped to the bottom of the mug, but she still trusted and forgave Vi and Jinx for everything they did to her which led her from one to another traumas? Maybe Cait is too kind but I cannot love someone who continuously destroy my life like that.
Oh, I wholeheartedly disagree with this take. Vi is an amazing character, a girl that lost everything but still chose to be a soft and gentle woman in a very violent world. She loves and cares about Caitlyn, she deserves to be happy. Caitlyn might not be directly responsible for the horrors Vi and her family faced but the Kirammans and everyone in the council was. They oppressed Zaun, they got Vi's and many other Zaunites' parents killed. Their choices sealed their fate.

@@Amapoladelprado I believe that is exactly what brought the contrast between the two worlds : Zaunites and Piltoverians. For instance, to Caitlyn’s mother, it was the legacy that mattered more than attending to the voices of every Zaunite. That was true for most of the citizens of Piltover. They were perceived to be driven by comfort and rank, both of which Caitlyn denied to misuse. So did Vi; she despised all those who risked lives of other people and called it ‘for the sake of protection’. Being caged in a cell since she was a teen, it was likely for Vi to be the person she was, maybe much worse. The fact that Caitlyn’s mother despite her reservations about Vi gave them both the permit to voice their concerns to the council talks a lot about her mother’s will to find a common ground between the two worlds. The fact that we got the ending with Zaunites and people of Piltover sharing the same council hall was because of Caitlyn’s mom, because of Vi and Caitlyn sticking together in the first place. The contrast between the two drove the plot of the series. I don’t see the reason to hate any of the characters for it.
