Thank you so much Sean for taking me out today I really enjoyed it. I’m 71 and live alone so my outings are just to a supermarket and back. Your video’s and so full of information and relaxing. You’ve made my day 😊

You have brought back so many good memories in this video. I used to do a lot of work as a Piano Tuner in Aberdare so I know the area very well. But I havent been back since I retired in 2013. My Gancher took me to the park when I was 11 yrs old (thats 70 yrs ago) and taught me to row a boat. Funny how things came back to mind
Absolutely lovely video, Sean! Wonderful to see Wales through your journey! And I especially enjoyed the historical footage spliced in at just the right moments. This is Sean James Cameron at his finest in my humble opinion. Please bring us back in the spring! Just beautiful.
Lovely film Sean. My goodness the wildlife in the park are so friendly. Was really great to see such a lovely array of independent eateries, shops and amenities, such a lovely little town ❤
I just came across this and have subscribed. I live in Cardiff and have been to Aberdare for work, but didn't know about this beautiful park. I may visit tomorrow and have a look around. That's what makes You Tube so great. I would never have found this park!! Thank you for your video.
I was up at Llwydcoed crematorium a few months ago ‘visiting’ the grandparents with my mum and we decided to go into Merthyr for a look around, which was pretty dire, it used to feel like a big busy place when I was young. You’ve done a great job of selling Aberdare, only went there once from memory, nice to see a place where independent businesses are still doing well.
I found your channel earlier this year when my mental and physical health had really gone downhill. Thanks to you I've begun exploring the welsh valleys more, and decided to check out Penpych myself when I saw your videos. Even did some yoga at the foot of the waterfall! 😂 You have greatly aided my recovery. Thank you for another lovely walk and sharing your wonderful family memories. I'll be checking out Aberdare park next year, hopefully there will be lots of spring bulbs to see ❤
This video was wonderful ! Made me cry to see the old videos of your relatives. I have had so much loss lately, it's difficult to get over the grief. You reminded me that going for a walk is so important.
Day by day and it gets easy. Spend time in nature and keep busy then you'll get to the day when you can look back with a smile and thing of the happy memories.

Thank you Sean, the park looks beautiful. The old footage appearing in with the new was very moving, such memories you have. Thank you for sharing them with us. Yes please take us back in spring time 😊
@@seanjamescameron that is a bit of a trek but a mighty fine one, especially during the warmer days and Dare Valley Country Park is a lovely little place to explore with some wonderful wildlife and sites. Sean, you bring me so much comfort when I watch your video's. You are my daily dose of relaxation 😊Wales is a stunning place, it is definitely a place I want to visit in the future. I love the squirrels 🐿 so cute 🥰 Thank you for sharing. Have a wonderful day 💙
Thank you,Sean. Thoroughly enjoyed this video. Many years ago I lived in Upper Norwood and there was a very large cemetary across the road, which I cut through to catch the bus to work. In fact I was late for work as I missed the bus because I spent time watching the squirrels which were around my feet as I walked. I had never seen a live squirrel before and was enthralled. Now,living in Machen, I have them in my garden pinching the birdseed!
Sean that was a beautiful walk in the park that held so many memories for you. That house looked a beauty. Such a lovely town. I think there is beauty in all seasons. It looked like a beautiful day after the rain. I’m sure you’ll have a quite a bit of wild life at your homestead. Wouldn’t it be lovely to throw some wildflower seeds across the land above the river by your homestead? It would bring pollinators to your plot… I think that having a calendar of pictures would be a fab idea. I’m just a regular person that take pics with my cell phone too. Haven’t taken time to learn all that I need to know in using my digital camera. What a story about the bus driver. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving here in the states. I just want to say I am grateful for you and your channel. It helps to keep life on an even keel. I can hear the geese and ducks. How nice to be in nature. Thank you Sean for a lovely few minutes. ❤❤❤
Jeez, you were only a few hundred yards from my house when you were at the bus stop, could have called in for a cuppa tea ! Great views on that route - I used to go to the Screwfix i Aberdare just for the views, and also to the dump in Ferndale as the views were better from that dump that from the Dinas one.
Sean I am certain you are a brilliant man for getting filming done, catching things of beautiful and interest, the wildlife was divine good man I felt, like I was there,in that stunning park ,with the little dog x fabulous x thank you very much.Just adored every minute x
I know the bus journey was longer than driving but you see so much more on the journey and see more of a place by walking round which a lot of people no longer do. I enjoy my trips out a lot more since not having a car
You have a way of showing your past cine films, which always brings a lump to my throat. Whether it's the music you choose or the clips you use, I don't know. But they always move me. Maybe it's because those times are gone, and your clips bring back those happy times of when life was much simpler 😊
Oh Sean, so good to know your O.K. after the flooding...Thanks for taking the time to share your adventures, and history... Great job superimposing your family history memories over the present view.....Your right about Parks like that being just what we need.....Your videos are always interesting. Take care.
The last fruit and veg stall you filmed in the market is where me and my mother were served by Kelly Jones, ( Stereophonics). Think he had a Saturday job there.
Hi Sean, lovely to see around Aberdare its over 50 years since I was in South Wales I had revlatives in Aberdare, Penderyn, Hirwaun, Glynneath, Tonypandy and Mam was born in Pontstcill, I'm sure much has changed but it was lovely to hear that the Welsh accent is still the same. My Gt. grandparents, granny and granddad, grannys brothers and sisters, mam and her older brother all left Wales in 1928 when mam was 5 to work and lived in and around a tiny village where I was born in rural Yorkshire (a few hills away from Holmfirth where they filmed Last of the Summer Wine) and not far from the Woodhead Pass, Uncle Billy would say 'thats not a mountail its a twmp, it must have been one of the few successfull invastions of the Welsh into England. Glad to hear everyone is safe after the flood let hope they get all the help they need.
I went the other way. Brought up in Wessex (chalk downs and trout streams like the river Test), but moved to Penderyn. From Bombay Sapphire to Penderyn Whisky, as it were. 😅 Aberdare does have an epic park.
Last time I was in the market was a few years ago, used to go every Thursday with my granddad. I saw the seats we would sit at and talk over a cuppa. He's died now. Nice trip down memory lane.
Thank you so much Sean that was a fab video. Those squirrels were quite chubby . The ones i get in my garden are skinny i need to put out more nuts. Loved how you blended old film into the new.
Sean that was wonderful. What a lovely park in beautiful surroundings. The animals are adorable, especially the squirrel. I would have had to go to the shop and buy a nutty bar for him 😄 Lovely to see the old footage overlayed. Would love to know more about your parents. They sound interesting.
Sean, I was concerned about your village and the homestead when I learned of the flooding. I hope all is well now! This video of your trip to Aberdare was a nice treat. It comes on our American holiday, Thanksgiving. The peaceful waterfalls and wildlife of the Aberdare park was just what I needed to start my day. Thanks!
What a great video, enjoyed every bit of it, you introduced so much interesting content, felt I was there in person. Especially liked the nostalgic bits and the music. Will watch again and again. Thank you Sean.
Beautiful video! Wales is such a gorgeous country. I felt a tinge of nostalgia looking at the old photos. Looking forward to seeing Aberdare Park in spring or summer. Keep the videos coming ‘coz they brighten up my day!
Just stumbled on your video. A few years ago I spent almost 1 week in and around Cwmamman. I loved it, in the middle of winter, and with minus 10 C, I'd never experienced that before. Loved the Welsh accent, but had trouble understanding some of my conversations. I used to walk along the trails through the planted forests up on the hills. Beautiful trees and peaceful, rarely saw another soul. And it was nice to look down into the Valley, seeing little cottages of stone linked together. Such history, so many changes, but plenty of happy people living their lives. Another world compared to my life here in Tropical Queensland. Its 9 pm and 26 C, about to get a storm. For us it's summer.
That was a bit of shock seeing the car over turned over in the road. I hope that whoever was in that car are safe and free from harm. Otherwise, what a fantastic journey Sean. I love going on these jaunts with you and I find myself saying, Sean lets go in the spirit shop and you did haha loved the park the squiggles so cute, the ducks and geese. It reminded me of Sefton Park in Liverpool one of the things I miss most about my home city. Can't wait to go back! :-) Thank you Sean for the wonderful vistas you have shown us two days on the bounce yesterday I went on a coach trip to Chatsworth and saw the peak district. I was in awe... x
So enjoyed our day out Sean, you have such a way of making one feel your talking to them alone. So interesting and informative and always love your music. Wow the overlay of filming whist in the circle, awesome. The park, what lovely vistas and wildlife. I love waterfalls, so relaxing and theraputic . Watching this instead of the news, lovely. Thank you again for posting another awesome vlog. 🐞
Great vlog Sean! I enjoyed seeing the old family videos stitched in (and the puppers!) The lake reminds me of a large lake in my hometown in Montana (in Great Falls) with similar fountains. We have ducks, geese and at least 3 or 4 swans, which I loved to watch. Nothing like a small village high street. Such a contrast between the old and new.
Good evening Sean When you pointed out the statue of griffith Rhys Jones, I thought it was the comedian who was in alas smith and jones! Must be a popular name in Wales 🤔 What a gorgeous park that squirrel made me laugh, Im ready for my close up now Mr Cameron! 😂 If you are thinking of growing azaleas, you will need to check the ph level of your soil as they like it acidic like rhododendrons. You are a clever man, that was such a good idea having the film from the 90s overlapping the recent video, spot on timing, well done Sean 🌟 Take care 💜
Many thanks for posting this most enjoyable walk. I feared you really were approached by a ne'er-do-well, so was relieved to see the culprits were of the tree-climbing variety! I was brought up in the Ogmore Valley (Nantymoel), so your home area is very familiar 'though, like you, I moved away and have lived in Oxford for over twenty years. I can appreciate that moving back to one's roots, especially as a 'singleton' (again like me), can have both its pros and cons and I hope you'll have more of the former than the latter as things settle down. As you'll appreciate, the Ogmore Valley, like the Rhondda Valleys, was once a hive of activity based on coal mining with a close-knit community spirit and families who remained in the same houses for generations. I moved away because there were no suitable opportunities 'back home' but visited my now deceased parents every two weeks or so. I'm now settled here as a Welsh 'expat' (!), so it was great to be reminded of the home country again. With very best wishes from over the bridge!
Hello Sean, really enjoyed your vlog today, walking round the park. We visit Blackpool a lot each year where we go to their Stanley Park which although is a bit bigger it has the features you showed today. Neither my partner or myself are very mobile but we manage a short walk, feed the wildlife (they also have resident geese!) and have a sit in the Italian gardens. It is so peaceful and relaxing and we think how lucky the locals are to have a lovely park to go to. x
Loved your vlog. It's nice to just go somewhere different for the day. I was watching all creatures great and small yesterday, and james herriot was outside, and i said oh i do love a stone wall 😂
A lovel, unexpected day out to Aberdare! Wonderful. Thank you Sean. 😀 PS My mother always liked 'finding' cuttings! One day we were in local estate park and we passed a friend of the family. Both he and my Mum had plastic bags in their hands. He said: I'll show you what's in my if you show me what's in yours! 😅 🤣🌱🌿🤣
i'm not a photographer but i would buy one of your calendars, especially if it has the moon times and maybe some home tips of the month. Also loved your old footage of home and pet, amazing. ok back to it (as you say!) as ive not finished watching & am curious about this accosting ..
A lovely video. Squirrels can be very inquisitive. We were walking through a park in Bournemouth once and a squirrel almost ran up my wife's leg. I was lucky enough to see a red squirrel in Scotland once.
Thank you Sean for taking the time to do this video. Enjoyed going on the trip with you. My dad was building a steam train to go round his rose garden, but sadly he died before it was finished. You brought that memory back to me.
A really lovely video. Aberdare is a gorgeous little place, very prosperous in its time as a result of the steel industry etc. Like you said the traffic is a nuisance, and the early closing of the shops always confuses me. I believe there is a plaque of the Welshman who composed Mae Hen Wlad fy Nhadau there too. Your end is very musical too Sean, ie Treorchy male voice choir. Indeed much the same throughout South Wales, that and rugby. How difficult was it for you to live in London away from the close sense of community in the valleys. I am not sure how you survived it so well. Something quite special about the people and the homeliness of the South Wales valleys.
Really enjoyed this video. Lovely little town and such a beautiful park. Looking forward to your visits there next year in spring and summer when all the flowers will be in bloom. You will have to go with treats for the squirrels, ducks and geese x

Hello and many thanks for the tour. Big hugs from Australia 🥰🦘🦘🦘
Beautiful views...gosh some stormy skies there...gosh the lighting place looked like a place I'd spend some money in.....thanks....😊
Good evening Sean
When you pointed out the statue of griffith Rhys Jones, I thought it was the comedian who was in alas smith and jones!
Must be a popular name in Wales 🤔
What a gorgeous park that squirrel made me laugh,
Im ready for my close up now Mr Cameron! 😂
If you are thinking of growing azaleas, you will need to check the ph level of your soil as they like it acidic like rhododendrons.
You are a clever man,
that was such a good idea having the film from the 90s overlapping the recent video, spot on timing, well done Sean 🌟
Take care 💜
Loved this sean what a beautiful place the scenery amazing even the squirrels came to say hello 😊
It is so peaceful and relaxing and we think how lucky the locals are to have a lovely park to go to. x
You paint such a great view of Wales & it's lovely that you share such special memories. I thoroughly enjoyed it ❤
It looks so nice the village with the Sun shining and the ground wet, it's very picturesque.
The park is stunning.
It's so beautiful. Now I see why you wanted to go Find it I'm glad you did.😊
What a glorious park! I will look forward to your future visits. Thank you for taking us along. Susan

A lovel, unexpected day out to Aberdare! Wonderful. Thank you Sean. 😀
PS My mother always liked 'finding' cuttings!
One day we were in local estate park and we passed a friend of the family. Both he and my Mum had plastic bags in their hands. He said: I'll show you what's in my if you show me what's in yours! 😅 🤣🌱🌿🤣
Say no more! *cough* 😉
i'm not a photographer but i would buy one of your calendars, especially if it has the moon times and maybe some home tips of the month. Also loved your old footage of home and pet, amazing. ok back to it (as you say!) as ive not finished watching & am curious about this accosting ..
What a lovely vlog! I really enjoyed the journey… Thank you 😊
That park was absolutely amazing , and I do like squirrels they are so cute ❤❤
It’s such a tranquil place Aberdare park known has the queen of the valley’s for it’s hills and gorgeous landscapes.
I've lost count at how many times I was told as a child that Aberdare used to be known as the Queen of the Valleys!
I really enjoyed this wonderful video Sean, thank you.
What a lovely park Sean. I hope you do go back in the summer - I should love to see the roses in flower.
I, love the old videos they are wonderful
Really enjoyed this video. Lovely little town and such a beautiful park. Looking forward to your visits there next year in spring and summer when all the flowers will be in bloom. You will have to go with treats for the squirrels, ducks and geese x
Thank you for sharing your trip to Aberdare, it's now on my travel list.
you have the sound of water rushung at your homestead. a lovely park Sean👍
Brilliant video Sean and hi to Delico Deli ! Loved your accents, girls xx
