It blows my mind how the nfl talking heads are talking about Fields as he's only looked better and better through 3 weeks. He's standing in the pocket and making reads, he's playing with confidence and consistency, and the team is rallying around him. The Steelers have 1 solid wr and he's STILL making enough plays to secure wins. Lamar is 1-2 and we all treat him like a god. Smh

    • @rellfacts279

He’s been solid. Steelers defense has been all world thus far. All the offense has to do is get to 20 at the most.

Lamar has TRASH WRs and a ONE dimensional RB. His TE is so slow it's like seeing somebody running in MUD. Plus Lamar Defense is getting trounced. So he has to play like a God just to Win. Yet this is what Blows your mind.

    • @rellfacts279

@@robertmoss4210 That’s true. But the reason why people are still skeptical because we haven’t seen that big play ability from Fields in a full game yet that he displayed in Chicago. He’s been efficient. Game manager ish and I don’t think that’s a bad thing especially if the defense is playing as good as they are.

He had no oline in chicago, he was our running game, he had no defense, he had no recoevers, he had three offensive coordinators and was drafted by a different head coach and front office. He was put in to fail and with the receivers chicago has now he would be 3-0 in Chicago as well.

Justin helped the offensive line a LOT in Chicago because he took a defender out of the box to spy on him the entire game. He was doing that and still got 60 yards rushing a game himself and the rushing game got 100 to 120 yards a game. Justin also threw to only practice level players until DJ Moore got there his last year. He then had a 1200 yard season the best of DJ's career. Caleb has a top 3 WR unit in Chicago right now. They just only have a bottom 3 offensive line that will hold them back but might crush Caleb this year.

Here's my take. Tomlin knew day 1 that Fields was the future franchise qb. The only reason Wilson is there is for the veteran leadership to show Fields how it's done and build his confidence from all the craziness of Chicago's changing staff.
He looks more like a qb now....not just athletic. If that makes sense. Justin Fields is in a similar situation that Aaron Rodgers was learning from Brett Farve.....and can be as successful under Smiths Offense easily.
Go back to Big Ben in the beginning. Bill Cowher taught and coached him to "manage" games until he was comfortable and ready to.lead.

Man, I'm so tired of them bringing up the defense. The offense got to score points point blank period!! If he's not even getting them a field goal position, they don't even have these points regardless of the defense, send why don't nobody point out All the plays that would have had them in the red zone. He's had six plays to get called back reds on drives but we keep blaming him for this. How will he play when we need to come from behind? We’ll see. I like how we’re taking these early games and just trying to consistently improve. I think our best football has yet to come and we have the potential to become something special and compete instead of stumbling into the playoffs only to get blown out like we have recently.

This is who Justin feels is. This was his abilities in Chicago- he just was dealt a very bad hand by being thrown into a starting position without any real coaching there. I think the kid was traumatized. You try standing there and have 300 lb humans coming after you ready to knock your lights out and see how you would respond without sufficient coaching. He's a super bright, probably gifted young man, who needs to fully understand what he's doing before he's thrown out in situations where he has to make split-second decisions. The Steelers have given him what he needs and he will only get better.

IMO: I think Justin Fields was ALWAYS a good quarterback ....... even in Chicago. A quarterback is only as good as his offensive line. Tom Brady or Patrick Mahomes would not win with that offensive line in Chicago. Now in Pittsburgh, Fields is behind a better offensive line that allows him to stay in pocket more and make better decisions ......... along with better coaching. And now, Caleb Williams is struggling with that terrible Chicago Bears offensive line!!!

It takes time for a team gell. The Quarterback must form the chemistry with his O Line, the Running Backs, his Receivers, and his Offensive Coordinator. There should be improvements every week, however the setbacks are inevitable. Injuries to key players such as a Left Tackle, or the Center can alter the chemistry the QB has developed with his Offense.
We witnessed the effect of the loss a key Defensive Player when TJ Watt went down two seasons ago. It placed added pressure on both sides of the ball to score more points than the other team, while the Defense was tasked to hold their opponents to a minimum amount of points. Therefore in referring to Justin Fields, he is a new everything; city, team Offensive Coordinator and expectations. He is building trust with Pickins, and Friermouth, and the Defense with addition of Patrick Queen are playing lights out. Let's have this discussion on Christmas Day after their game.
