Moscow is #1 city in the world by number of electric buses. They have a whole 1000 electrobuses in use. The video was super interesting for me. Thank you, Russel. I can argue with you. I personally am a fan of the Urals, and especially the 4320 with the yamz238 engine. Where I am, Kamaz trucks die very quickly and cannot get where the Urals are able to get through.
Brands have similar names because they are abbreviations. MAZ stands for Minskyi Avtomobilnyi Zavod or Minsk Automobile Plant, its from Belarus. KAMAZ is KAMskiy Avtomobilny Zavod (Kama Automobile Plant) which is in Russian city Naberezhnye Chelny on the Kama River.

@@kseniyayou На мой субъективный взгляд вполне удобные. Но они довольно простые. Мне особенно нравится сидеть на самых дальних сидениях (позади автобуса), они очень сильно подняты, надо как бы по ступенькам подняться. Оттуда классный обзор.

Russian buses looks more comfortable and presentable than Chinese ones. I have used long distance buses in Fiji (From lautoka to Suva). It was very cold but comfortable to sit in.

@@ursabel в Иркутске полно корейцев, но их дорабатывают до сибирских холодов, в Улан-Удэ корейцы без доработки зимой пипец было ездили, сейчас пришли Пазы, Мазы и Камазы (несколько моделей что запутался) они все адаптированны под сибирские морозы, теплые, и тепло по всему салону равномерно, а не как в некоторых старых маршрутках - под зад жар прет, что закипаешь, а ноги к полу примерзают!

Seven forms? That's great. In Moscow, people mostly ride trams, buses (normal and electric), "route taxis", trains (Central Diameter urban/suburban routes and Central Circle), and Metro. Only on occasion, you could use a monorail, a river cruise ship or a cable car.

The big blue KAMAZ bus is not public transport. It's called "shuttle bus". It is used to deliver workers to their place of work (to hard-to-reach places in Siberia, Taiga, the Far North). It was commissioned by Gazprom to service its mineral deposits. But of course, any company can buy it. This is a shuttle bus.
Aren't some of them trolley buses? That's the word I remember learning in childhood... We have the old version of them in my city, it is my favourite kind of public transport. Buses are crowded. Trams are shakey. Trolley buses are spacious and smooth

The Kamaz off-road bus, it's for transportation in places without asphalt roads. This particular model was primary designed for company Gazprom, because their current off-road buses have much fewer(twice less) seats than this new Kamaz model. Not to mention the raise in comfort level in this type of bus.

Maybe you could also make a video about the different Moscow metro trains types, we have few different types depending on a line. The oldest and noisiest trains are on Green line 2, the newest and modern are Moskva-2020 on Circle line 5.

Just several simple facts (like "this bus can go up to 250 km/h" or "this one is able to run up to 1000 km per one charge") but it would be a bit more lively. Still, really like your videos! ZT-34. Actually rebranded Soviet WWII tank T-34. 😁Probably this brand is especially for Russia to make it more recognisable. And the word “Победа” which means “victory” hints directly to the tank as well. You are right, many of these buses are already in service. But “MAZ” is not Russian made. This is from Belorussia. All these almost identical names like GAZ, MAZ, KAMAZ are the legacy of the Soviet Union. AZ is an abbreviation for Automobile Plant. G is Gorkiy City(now Nizhny Novgorod), M is Minsk, KAM is KAMskiy from the Kama river

In Russia there is a phrase that Moscow is a port of 5 seas, because you can take a cruise through channels and rivers to a lot of places actually. There is a good new train Museum in St Petersburg located inside of old train circular depot. It even has soviet high-speed engine and rail ICBM unit.

The trains in Perth, were made in China, but perhaps not the case now. That bus with off road capability in Australia would be used in the mining industry, or perhaps oil industry in Siberia. If Moscow has an engineering exhibition that would also be very interesting to see. Excellent posts

Actually, part of these bus are already in use. At least one on (2:40) and another one on (3:20) are patrolling city's streets for some years (or they are very-very similar to them). Also there are a lot of electric versions (there was a video on this channel about it). All bus in Moscow already have chargers for phones and card readers (no cash pay).
One of these new "marshrutka" mini buses we already have in service (route #43 from Kotelniki metro station to Oktyabrskiy). I really like it - comfortable and spacious.

Also you missed huge drone exhibition in "VDNH center". It was really interesting. One company achieved a really revolutionary success in design. They will open a factory in SPB very soon. But i steel recommend you to visit Space hangar in VDNH , really really cool stuff (for me at least). Also , you can walk under natural Vostok rocket.

24:08 There is a big difference in buses depending on the company. Just like you showed, the most comfortable city bus in this convention is Kamaz, i don't really like the electrical ones, because they accelerate very rapidly due to hardware and not the driver unlike with combustion engine where driver can archive very smooth and passenger friendly acceleration. The Chinese city buses are not so friendly as you saw how many stairs they have, this kind of floor raise, can be very traumatic if the floor will be wet, or if you have leg problems or if you didn't hold to something when climbing up or down =)

I suspect this promoting of BRICS and Domestic alternatives to western products will continue for the next few years regardless of the conflict . I think that western sanctions have been good for Russia as it has made them more self reliant , more inventive and perhaps made Russian Business look more to the SCO and BRICS as more reliable partners for the foreseeable future. THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!! I am a bus enthusiast, so this was extremely interesting. I don't get to see much about Russian buses or their manufacturers, so it made it all the more interesting. There's definitely bus conventions in the US as well. I like how the driver has an enclosed cab in Russian buses. Something that didn't really come into practice until Covid in the US. All transit buses in the US have had a requirement for decades to be wheelchair-accessible. The high-floor buses had large lifts at the back door, but now all buses are low-floor, and so a ramp is deployed by the driver when needed. That Asiastar bus looks like a Neoplan Skyliner copy. I wonder how many of the buses in Russia are hybrids. For instance, nearly all the fleet in New York is hybrid. Electric buses don't seem to be all that practical for the way bus service runs in NYC. You would think it might be similar to Moscow, but I guess not. Proterras (the name of the electric buses being tested) are few, but they (the MTA) doesn't want to buy a large fleet of them if they can't deal with the service requirements here. Хорошо бы сиденья сделать более эргономичными - как в Волге 21 модели или вот недавно путешствовала на электричке в Тулу, причем рейс был с самыми дешёвыми билетами - и там были очень удобные сиденья. В дорогих электричках, как и в этих автобусах - жуть, через 10 мин затекает всё тело.
@@kseniyayou На мой субъективный взгляд вполне удобные. Но они довольно простые. Мне особенно нравится сидеть на самых дальних сидениях (позади автобуса), они очень сильно подняты, надо как бы по ступенькам подняться. Оттуда классный обзор.

It was very interesting looking through the buses....the Russian buses go for comfort for all people and they think of all capabilities and handicapped people who need access like everyone has....I would love to ride in any of them and the colours are appealing inside and out!

Russian buses looks more comfortable and presentable than Chinese ones. I have used long distance buses in Fiji (From lautoka to Suva). It was very cold but comfortable to sit in.

@@ursabel в Иркутске полно корейцев, но их дорабатывают до сибирских холодов, в Улан-Удэ корейцы без доработки зимой пипец было ездили, сейчас пришли Пазы, Мазы и Камазы (несколько моделей что запутался) они все адаптированны под сибирские морозы, теплые, и тепло по всему салону равномерно, а не как в некоторых старых маршрутках - под зад жар прет, что закипаешь, а ноги к полу примерзают!

Seven forms? That's great. In Moscow, people mostly ride trams, buses (normal and electric), "route taxis", trains (Central Diameter urban/suburban routes and Central Circle), and Metro. Only on occasion, you could use a monorail, a river cruise ship or a cable car.

The big blue KAMAZ bus is not public transport. It's called "shuttle bus". It is used to deliver workers to their place of work (to hard-to-reach places in Siberia, Taiga, the Far North). It was commissioned by Gazprom to service its mineral deposits. But of course, any company can buy it. This is a shuttle bus.

The Kamaz off-road bus, it's for transportation in places without asphalt roads. This particular model was primary designed for company Gazprom, because their current off-road buses have much fewer(twice less) seats than this new Kamaz model. Not to mention the raise in comfort level in this type of bus.

Just several simple facts (like "this bus can go up to 250 km/h" or "this one is able to run up to 1000 km per one charge") but it would be a bit more lively.

ZT-34. Actually rebranded Soviet WWII tank T-34. 😁Probably this brand is especially for Russia to make it more recognisable. And the word “Победа” which means “victory” hints directly to the tank as well.
You are right, many of these buses are already in service. But “MAZ” is not Russian made. This is from Belorussia.

All these almost identical names like GAZ, MAZ, KAMAZ are the legacy of the Soviet Union. AZ is an abbreviation for Automobile Plant. G is Gorkiy City(now Nizhny Novgorod), M is Minsk, KAM is KAMskiy from the Kama river

@bearbullcruising6427 They do have a couple of different tram and train museums in Moscow. I want to try and do the tour of the Moscow metro behinds the scenes tour if i can work out when and where it is. They do one open to the public every now and then. Russell.
In Russia there is a phrase that Moscow is a port of 5 seas, because you can take a cruise through channels and rivers to a lot of places actually. There is a good new train Museum in St Petersburg located inside of old train circular depot. It even has soviet high-speed engine and rail ICBM unit.

The trains in Perth, were made in China, but perhaps not the case now.
That bus with off road capability in Australia would be used in the mining industry, or perhaps oil industry in Siberia.
If Moscow has an engineering exhibition that would also be very interesting to see.

Actually, part of these bus are already in use. At least one on (2:40) and another one on (3:20) are patrolling city's streets for some years (or they are very-very similar to them). Also there are a lot of electric versions (there was a video on this channel about it).
All bus in Moscow already have chargers for phones and card readers (no cash pay).
One of these new "marshrutka" mini buses we already have in service (route #43 from Kotelniki metro station to Oktyabrskiy). I really like it - comfortable and spacious.

Also you missed huge drone exhibition in "VDNH center". It was really interesting. One company achieved a really revolutionary success in design. They will open a factory in SPB very soon.
But i steel recommend you to visit Space hangar in VDNH , really really cool stuff (for me at least). Also , you can walk under natural Vostok rocket.

24:08 There is a big difference in buses depending on the company. Just like you showed, the most comfortable city bus in this convention is Kamaz, i don't really like the electrical ones, because they accelerate very rapidly due to hardware and not the driver unlike with combustion engine where driver can archive very smooth and passenger friendly acceleration.
The Chinese city buses are not so friendly as you saw how many stairs they have, this kind of floor raise, can be very traumatic if the floor will be wet, or if you have leg problems or if you didn't hold to something when climbing up or down =)

I suspect this promoting of BRICS and Domestic alternatives to western products will continue for the next few years regardless of the conflict .
I think that western sanctions have been good for Russia as it has made them more self reliant , more inventive and perhaps made Russian Business look more to the SCO and BRICS as more reliable partners for the foreseeable future.

THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!! I am a bus enthusiast, so this was extremely interesting. I don't get to see much about Russian buses or their manufacturers, so it made it all the more interesting. There's definitely bus conventions in the US as well. I like how the driver has an enclosed cab in Russian buses. Something that didn't really come into practice until Covid in the US. All transit buses in the US have had a requirement for decades to be wheelchair-accessible. The high-floor buses had large lifts at the back door, but now all buses are low-floor, and so a ramp is deployed by the driver when needed. That Asiastar bus looks like a Neoplan Skyliner copy. I wonder how many of the buses in Russia are hybrids. For instance, nearly all the fleet in New York is hybrid. Electric buses don't seem to be all that practical for the way bus service runs in NYC. You would think it might be similar to Moscow, but I guess not. Proterras (the name of the electric buses being tested) are few, but they (the MTA) doesn't want to buy a large fleet of them if they can't deal with the service requirements here. Hope to see more bus and train videos from you in the future!
