For people who want a summary of things
    1. Mina has been bullying the staff and managers since she first got into fnc, constantly demanding things during their time off (example, at 4am, telling them to make her mom’s dentist appointment) talking to them rudely, accusing them, and getting angry at them for no reason. She would demand them to apologize after she would mistreat them saying it’s their fault she’s upset and crying and depressed.
    2. Minas text messages with jimin show that they were actually really close and jimin was sweet to mina, calling her to even check up on her to see how she’s doing , even after mina left the group. months before Mina’s “exposing” jimin, jimin and mina met up and hugged, jimin said I love you, mina said sorry and thank you to her. Even after jimin’s dad passed away she checked up on mina..
    3. The members tried to mediate the situation and hyejeong even told mina to apologize to jimin too but mina blamed everything on jimin.
    4. Choa said she gave up on mina cuz she doesn’t listen to anyone and that jimin had to step up. Mina would miss practices, mistreat fans, and abuse staff. Someone had to step up and it was jimin who scolded her as the leader - THIS ISNT BULLYING. The big fight they had was cuz mina ruined their comeback & it was canceled due to her missing all the practices and that’s when they were aggressive with each other + Hyejeong said she is going to go crazy cuz of mina driving her crazy.
    5. Mina sent jimin nasty messages attacking jimin’s mom and also insulting her appearances and called her a whore.
    6. Jimin apologized cuz choa told her she should as the leader and unni (older) and also to end the drama and calm mina down. Mina exposed and caused the whole drama months after her and jimin reconciled for their big fight just because she was feeling depressed due to not having a job and aoa becoming popular with queendom. She admitted to this.
    7. Jimin left the industry not because she was guilty but only because she got so much hate after writing “fiction” + mina threatening suicide + exposing her sex life. Keep in mind, this whole thing happened only 3 months after her dad passed away + jimin was already depressed and taking medication for this.

I have to get this off my chest. I’m so disturbed by the lack of outrage to Mina from the abusive and offensive texts she sent Jimin. Almost everyone is saying that it is a private matter that Mina should have solved privately and not brought to the public, no regard to Jimins mental health or feelings. There is literally SOLID proof of Mina lying and being terrible to Jimin, yet showing no remorse to how everyone shunned Jimin out of the entertainment buisness while still grieving over her father. Mina also disrespected Jimin’s father. Absolutely disgusted by the lack of support to jimin and the neutrality of everyone regarding this situation. You just want it to be over and stop hearing about it, but what about Jimin being wrongly accused of bullying? I hope she’s ok where ever she is.

Personally, the reason I'm not as angry with Mina is because it looks like those texts are her attempt at getting justice for herself, and that's understandable to me especially given Mina's obvious struggles with mental health. The way I see it, Jimin started all of this by bullying Mina. Idk why everyone's forgotten all the reasons we believed Mina in the first place, but from the compilations I saw, I remain convinced that Jimin did not treat her well/was abusive first. Those Dispatch texts are not evidence that Jimin did not bully Mina. If anything, they are evidence that Jimin apologized, Mina more or less accepted the apology, but then rescinded her acceptance of the apology and posted everything online to continue getting revenge. Maybe Mina only "accepted" the apology as part of her plan to get revenge, maybe she's just unhinged and changed her mind for no reason- either way it's her response to the trauma she endured. The reports of other staff managers not liking her also aren't evidence that Jimin never bullied Mina to me. Maybe Mina became a rude person after suffering from prolonged bullying, that wouldn't be right but it's understandable. Mina doesn't have to be a perfect, blameless angel for it to be true that she was relentlessly bullied by Jimin. The point stands that just because she developed a bad attitude doesn't mean Jimin didn't bully her. At the end of the day, to me it simply isn't as bad for someone to do something like that as retaliation for genuine past slights. Someone punching their bully isn't as bad as the bully making the first punch (an eye for an eye, etc. etc.). What Mina is doing so far falls under retaliation, whereas what Jimin did years ago was unprovoked attacks, and there is a meaningful difference in the ethical significance of those two things. I definitely think Mina needs help (for one thing it's a red flag to me whenever someone puts 100% of the "blame" for their mental illness on someone or something else, as that mindset is usually a huge impediment to recovery), and she has done wrong in this situation, but it's not on the same level of wrong as what Jimin did. That's why I'm not as outraged at Mina. Sure, more evidence could come out demonstrating that Jimin never bullied Mina, but until then I still think there's good enough evidence that Jimin did bully her first, and therefore Mina's actions are more justifiable. At the least, we should be affording Mina more compassion than Jimin right now given the evidence we currently have. Please correct me if I'm wrong on any of the facts, but as far as I know we've never actually seen evidence that Mina's original claims/evidence were untrue. I'm not trying to argue with anyone, I just thought I would share why I personally am not as upset at Mina. To be clear, I still think Mina has done wrong, just not enough for me to cancel her to the extent Jimin has been. I imagine this boils down to a difference in opinion as to the ethics of retaliating against one's bully. For many of us observers, Jimin losing her career and receiving some mean texts is an appropriate punishment for bullying Mina for years.

Instead of getting professional help like literally everyone said, she went ahead and kept up with her unrealistic story and continued destroying Jimin's reputation and mental health. Yes, she went through a lot, growing up with an abusive father (according to her, which doesn't even make sense since she said she felt heartbroken when she was kept from spending her last moments with her father and wasn't even there when he passed away, when she literally got 2 weeks off and even said herself she watched as he died. Then suddenly, she says she hated her father so much she wanted him to just die. Like girl you're contradicting yourself). This Mina, the one who grew up in such a toxic household, walked into FNC, agreeing to work 24/7, basically signing her freedom and happiness away. Like what? What shoked me the most was the message that Mina send to Jimin after she leaved the entertainment industry:
"Hey Jimin, are you not going to respond? You won’t respond even if I die? Come to your senses. I won’t ever forget you."
"I want to pay back all of the bullying you did to me exactly as is. I’m holding back well. Hey, if you saw it, you should respond. Aren’t you angry? You need to come beat me up, haha. Come on. Are you even human?"
"Jimin, you can’t do this to me. Someone’s dying here. Do you have no emotion? Hahaha. You have no remorse, huh? It’s about time your temper comes up. Why are you quiet?"
"You were looking for a knife at my house. I have a lot of knives. Come. You won’t even be able to stab me. Hahaha. As long as I’m alive, I’m going to take revenge, Jimin. I won’t forget the things you did and said to me. I’ll pay it back for sure. Just wait, Samuel Jackson." [Jimin got compared to Samuel Jackson by hatters]
"Read, Jimin. You messed with the wrong person. Where’s our Shin Jimin’s audacity? You have to come have a one-on-one fight with me. I can go to you, or you can come to me. Come, you wh*re."
"Does your mom feel no remorse at all either? When her own daughter is the cause of someone else’s daughter contemplating death every day".
"Hey Jimin. Is your mom unwell, by any chance? Just respond to me. You’ll see me again anyway."
It's just... so violent. And it is definitly not how a victim of bullying would talk to their bully. It is even the opposite: sending those kind of text is a form of bullying.

From the start I knew this is a situation of conflicting personalities not bullying. Jimin was a strict leader under immense pressure and mina is extremely sensitive and take things to heart and very personally. I still think mina had a hard time in aoa and there definitely was conflict between her and jimin but I don't believe jimin was a /bully/ if she was a bully I'm sure one of the members would've noticed but they all acted so clueless like the allegations came out of nowhere. It was a case of clashing personalities between a strict and sensitive person that wasn't addressed by mina to jimin for a decade that lead to this mess.

I just thought that if these two types of people were in the same work group or friend group it would definitely come out like this bully scandal. Yep. Aside from conflicting personalities, it's also about their difference on how they value professionalism. Both Mina and Jimin were young back then, but Jimin didn't have any choice but to mature faster for she's the leader of the group. On the other hand, Mina isn't the oldest member nor the leader that's why she saw it as an opportunity to laze around.

I've had friends who were either too sensitive and had a victim personality and I had friends who were callous and insensitive at times or too direct. I just thought that if these two types of people were in the same work group or friend group it would definitely come out like this bully scandal. But everyone in the comments were cancelling Jimin already and didn't want to hear her side. This cancel culture has made us the judge, executioner and jury without due process. Fans are consumers and idols have become products. If fans become more responsible adults as well, we would let these idols live out their lives like normal people and let the courts and their respective companies decide.

You saying perceived means you're trying to invalidate that she was ever bullied in the first place when there are countless of times where Jimin showed real insensitivity towards Mina even on camera. Mina's mental decline could be because her bully never really apologized and she retaliated with all this toxicity. This retaliation isn't just from an attention seeking person, she seems like she was really emotionally abused and bullied. I knew people who were really manipulative and attention seeking, always victimizing themselves but Mina to me is a clear example of someone who has suffered some sort of emotional abuse.

@@delune1329 - No, I say "perceived" because none of us KNOW what really went on. And the transcripts of their conversations paint an entirely different picture of what went down. And sometimes, a crybaby is JUST a crybaby, and not worthy of further consideration. Which I feel is the case here.
It is so obvious what is really going on. Jimin offered and gave apologies, which Mina refuses to accept, or accepts for that moment and then, later, when everyone has gone, she starts to feel the attention (that she craves) dwindling, and so she starts it all up again. That's part of that "Victim" mentality that she exhibits so well. You would know that if you had any real life experience.
Or, her "mental decline" could just be an act for attention, which is definitely what she is coming off as. And I'm not the only one that thinks so, as the court of public opinion has since turned against her. She just will NOT let it go, even though Jimin has resigned from her career and left her company. I mean, what is it going to take? Would Jimin's DEATH be enough to satisfy her? Would that satisfy all the "fans" that have been braying for Jimin's blood ever since this was made public?
Mina definitely needs help - that much is obvious. I believe that she has always been mentally ill with a victim personality. And she needs to stay off social media - that's doing NOTHING good for her reputation.

Jimin had a crucial decision to make, how to deal with a controversy without having any actual credibility. So she left the entertainment industry completely without responding to Mina much. While Mina was posting about Jimin, Jimin was invisible and only made a post or two about Mina, other than that she stayed silent from the public. Furious K-pop stans sent hate comments to her. But from the safety of her home, away from social media, Jimin actually made a savvy move, let Mina have the spotlight. As the political rule of thumb say,"When your opponent is digging his own grave, you don't fight him for the shovel." Jimin's one mistake in this controversy was that she made a vague Instagram story with just the word fiction which gave Mina the opportunity to post a bloody photo of her hand.

This is a smart decision if it was her true intentions. But I believe what she, the rest of AOA and FNC were doing was protecting Mina. You can tell from the chat that the members do care about Mina's health. They did try to help her, but the rest of AOA excluding Jimin, gave up since she was so stubborn (Jimin was the leader, the responsibility was heavy and she didn't have the option of giving up). Whenever some truth leaked out, Mina would upload pictures of self h4rm as if they were evidence that she was bullied, which is obviously not. If the members and FNC speak up, who knows what she would do next? She could've ended her life. The members and FNC were definitely worried about that. They had a lot of evidence. From the chats between the members to security cameras in their buildings to staff members' encounter with Mina. Why not just speak up, clear their names and this whole controversy. They chose not to. Because they ACTUALLY care about Mina.

I know that it's a bit far from the topic already, but just think of it that you were accused of doing something horrible, your father died a few months back the issue happened and you had to leave your group who was like a family for her. Couldn't even acknowlege that it was _you_ who made a video with a title saying jimin is a bully just because you didn't look into the topic when making it, not even once? This is a video of you mildly admitting you were misinformed, this is not you "holding yourself accountable" or whatever. You would delete the other video or atleast change the title if you are going to even think about being accountable.
And the whole "never pick sides with these things" (spoiler:🙄): a) still not saying you actually believed and spread the lie that she is a bully, b) that happened because you didn't bother to look more info about it, just believed whatever was on top at that time and c) the message of that sentence doesn't do much in your situation - it's quite clear you just wanted youtube fame by making a whatever video that was fueling the social media's stand about it (especially since the video, yk, _is still there the same way it was on day 1_ ). To sum it up, you talked about this as if you weren't with those people who accused of her for those things, again, you have a video title legit saying "Jimin the bully".

When the scandal of Jimin being accused of bullying Mina first came out, I had the thought: “How ironic would it be if the accusations were fake and it comes out later that they were lies? How would all of those who participated in sending hate to the supposed bully feel knowing that they were tricked?” At the time, nobody seemed to want to hear Jimin’s side of the story and if she tried, then they would have just continued to accuse her of trying to make excuses and not take responsibility for her actions. People were very quick to make assumptions because they didn’t want to come across as discounting a victim’s trauma. But who truly became the victim? What happened to “innocent until proven guilty”? The way people perceive the same events can be drastically different. So rather than only taking in one side of the story at face value, both sides should have been given a chance to explain their recollection of the events and come to an understanding of what happened. Especially since, over time, we choose to remember certain memories but can’t remember all of the details. Resulting in a biased portion of the story.

Sure do that but deat* threats, ruining someone's career just because it ain't cute. We all know the Woojin situation. Bless that man that he stood tall even after all that shit. But not everyone is like that. Your one harsh statement will break someone. So be nice if you can, it really helps your mind.

The same thing is happening with April (some of Hyunjoo statements contradict with each other). History repeats itself sadly.

I'm convinced that some of the people who ask others to "stay neutral" in this issue now but previously were very happy to condemn Jimin are just playing apologist in another way. Sorry but right now you should be condemning the person who lied and destroyed the career of five innocent girls instead of preaching this "fake neutrality". It just makes you look like a hypocrite.
As to those apologists that make excuses like "but what about clips of Jimin being bla bla", "Mina is just troubled", "Jimin apologised for bullying bla bla" or just any "what about" in general, look at the evidence before you speak. Proof, or it didn't happen. If you haven't learned this statement based on all that has happened I have nothing further to say to you.
As to those who try to discredit the evidence and say those people speaking for AOA are biased, if you would rather trust the word of a manipulative liar known to harass and blackmail others over people who have worked in the industry and have been in contact with AOA for years, that says a lot about your own bias than it does for them.

  • @yueliang1645
    @yueliang1645 2 ปีที่แล้ว +22

Kwon Mina herself said that she never had proof that she was bullied and even refused to let the matter be investigated, and no, a bunch of edited clips without context aren't evidence. For some reason people are so intent on hanging on to those clips as evidence even as they consider clips that show them in a good light are manipulated. So if they think clips of them being friendly can be easily manipulated, why do they think those showing them in a bad light are not manipulated? Either clips can or cannot be manipulated, which one is it?
I also wonder why people keep saying that there is a possibility than Jimin actually bullied people when
    a) her groupmates do not know what "bullying" Mina was accusing Jimin of, including Hyejeong and Yuna who are supposedly Mina's best friends (Hyejeong even asked people to support Jimin too).
    b) people (managers etc.) who have worked with AOA for years say otherwise.
    c) The only thing Jimin apologised was for being strict, and this was confirmed by the members. They also confirmed they had a hard time getting Mina to follow in practises. Funny how none of them think Jimin being strict is bullying (but they were irritated at times which is understandable) but only Mina does, right? And also all of them are working hard but Mina is taking breaks even on her schedule? Is it even a wonder, then, that Jimin is harsh on her?
Point to note, all this came from the members themselves and people who've been working with AOA since their debut, either in the newly released texts or in their earlier posts during the incident. So I don't know why people think they're untrustworthy. I mean, you're not going to argue that Jimin is so powerful that she's able to control how other speak of her, right? Even if that was the case she is literally out of the industry so why would people be afraid to speak against her? And why would Hyejeong defend her? I'm sure people won't imply that Hyejeong was a bystander working against Mina... or maybe they will, idk.
And that's still not counting the instances where Mina has flip-flopped in her story. So many times, all without proof so why is she believable again?
In conclusion, I believe that from the above Jimin has never bullied and it is gross injustice that she lost her career over a lie. And I implore people who consider alleged "bullies" being put out of career as justified to consider this: what if that person you went after did nothing wrong? How are you going to compensate them for their loss? I can say, not many will care because it didn't happen to them. All they'll say is too bad. This disastrous consequences a falsely accused person has to face is why I'd usually side with the accused if I didn't manage to stay out of the issue (case by case, depending on their record), because no amount of apologies can give a person who was falsely accused their previous life and career back, whereas if you initially did not believe someone a victim you could just apologize for that. Maybe to other people it is calculative but that's what I believe in because last time I checked, not getting believed isn't more harmful than having your career and life taken away just because of a false accusation.
I dislike people who went after Jimin over these false accusations and are still moving goalposts even when the facts say otherwise, but I pray that this same situation never befalls them, and if it does.. I pray that they will make it through well enough.
