Call of Cthulhu works so well with the cowboy genre
Works with every genre. It's the creepy notions in the dark. The underlying truth. It's why Kris' characters seek it out, everyone can relate to fearing the unknown or inexplicable.

Incredible backstory work by Kris, coming up with a completely valid reason to make a blue-skinned character.
Is anyone else going to address how great the title “Chief Executive Keeper” under Jerry is? Because if not I will. It’s great and for some reason made me laugh way more than one would expect.
That breathing headstone thing gave me chills, but also a hell of an idea. What if a society was so vainglorious that they ensorcelled folk into living headstones to honour the fallen? They are not dead, but neither are they alive, in a state in between, more like a living machine than a creature of the undead. They are fixed in place, their bodies enmeshed in the stone monuments of their masters, waiting for passers by, to whom they must extol the virtues and glories of the deceased, whether they be true, or lies made to glorify those whose lives were far less interesting than their eulogies would lead one to believe. This function they also serve, to see who comes and mourns, to record those who would swear love or hatred for the dead, and through some medium unknown to most mourners, convey their "respects" to their masters. The question is, do they still have minds of their own? Jerry's mention of sad songs, and long mournful looks was depressing enough I must conclude they do, if only in the form of an echo of their past selves, something that floats up to the surface in the long quiet between mourners, and is startled back to the depths by the presence of others, or the resumption of their endless duty.

Just recently read my first few Lovecraft stories after years of distant appreciation. I got the starter set and keeper rulebook (yes I realize the redundancy) and am overwhelmed by the wide range of the ruleset. Super hype to give this game a try!

So I liked an awful lot of this and I get that this is basically the C Team in the Wild West but does anyone besides me think they put a little too much C Team in this? I mean when they got to the part where Jerry introduced the blatant Brahma analogue who “Willow” was instantly attracted to and started flirting with I just kinda rolled my eyes. This kinda thing is why I loved the CoC that Jerry and Mike did with Mike Mason so much more, they brought their familiar playstyles and personalities to the game while still playing distinctly different characters than Omin and Jim.
I also have a d100. It's a true monster, but I do use it in my games. Throw it in a box lid to stop it rolling off and crashing through a wall.
