I have not driven a diesel powered land rover. My RRC 94 County LWB has a 4.2.. My question is the red defender and the silver disco have the same problem, it appears they have very sensitive Clutches or throttles? Is the Green defender more powerful? The green defender always has great throttle control. I would maybe have them focus on that or put a spring on that throttle someplace to stiffen it up so it doesn't surge so much on the trail. Every time the disco lets off the throttle he gets traction, all the time he is in the throttle he is not moving. Great videos! Thank You!
Great video guys.. Loved the challenging terrain.. Does an enhanced discover 1 perform better than a stock defender? I love discovery and I want to get one. I see it struggling abit on the terrain as compared to the defender
The Brewery If your referring to the white disco it doesnt have lockers and only a rear lsd. Earlier on it broke 2 shocks and thats why it looks like the diffs shake violently when looking for traction.
LandRoverLife I guess everyone is different and what they want out of their rig. For example in my D1 its running 4.43 while in my 110 im still running standard 3.54 as its running an lt95 box and tc. Both on 35s.

Why do people stop when the vehicle moves forward after combating a difficult part, Ive been driving off road for over 40 years, never stop once you have past the difficult part, just keep moving.
Technically some of those trucks came kn the same chassis. The defe der came j an 80" wheel base a 110"w.b and 140. The discovery 1 and 2 and defender were not true 4x4s u less you installed front and rear differential lockers. It uses the ABS to transfer power to work LIKE a 4x4 but they are not a true 4x4. They are all wheel drive with open diffs and a lockable transfercase

Defender is way better than discovery. It's more confident in climbing, grips better and less wobbly. Discovery struggles much more than the defender. There is no contest. The best contest would be defender Vs jeep wrangler I suppose.
Have you ever driven a Discovery that you get to your conclusion? You seem a little uninformed if you ask me as I own 2 Disco 1's and a Disco 3 and I never have to take a backseat to a Defender.
They're the same truck underneath. Same frame. Same suspension. Same driveline. The Defender actually has a worse breakover angle due to the longer wheelbase. The difference in this video is locking differentials and airing down vs open differentials/limit slip - and that's up to the owner to outfit, has nothing to do with the model. Discos are and can be incredibly capable.

The green defender had axle diff locks, that's why it did better. Otherwise the other three cars would have done it just as easily
