Why don't indian govt cover jet development engine as a National project and make a SPV with the collaboration of ISRO and other private companies who are keen on manufacturing jet engines in India This will not only fast track the timeline for the development but also can bring down the development cost significantly

1 engine project ke liye test bed is not viable. But agle 4-5 saalon mein we will have a flying test bed bcoz we will need 2-3 engine projects maybe even an engine project for civil aviation.

i have a question. India has been working on developing Kaveri engine for a long time but has faced many challenges in achieving success. Considering ISRO’s expertise in developing sophisticated technologies like cryogenic engines, it would have been beneficial for DRDO to collaborate with ISRO for research and development purposes? While jet engines and cryogenic engines have different purposes but both require advanced technology. Could such a partnership have accelerated progress?
Hats off to the Govt, डीआरडीओ, ada,gtre and hal who have relentlessly worked for development of indegenous Kaveri इंजन and now we are getting fruitful results. I hope 52 kn dry kaveri and 81 kn with afterburner would test successfully and these would be suitable for uavs and Tejasmk1a respectively. जय हिन्द 🇮🇳 🇮🇳
In 2006, I read a report somewhere, probably Outlook, which stated that LCA Tejas got delayed primarily due to delays in development of indigenous Kaveri engine. Almost twenty year later, DRDO did not waste time ?!?!
If the Kaveri engine can produce between 80-100kn of thrust within a reasonable power to weight ratio then this will be a good news to India. Anything less will not be a positive news.

This dry Kaveri engine will be a 100% indigenously designed and manufactured success story for a change. We have already placed it through hours of testing on the ground in India and high altitude simulated tests in Russia which all passed. Now we just need to vigorously test it under real life conditions on a plane in the freezing cold, wet rain, snow, ice, hot and humid weather. We will need to test its metallurgy with the newly 100% indigenously developed single crystal blade, endurance, reliability, consistency, fuel efficiency, fuel consumption rate, number of flight hours before needing to be replaced etc. The engine can’t produce the amount of thrust we need for the Tejas MK1A jets but it can definitely produce enough for the stealth UCAV Ghatak drone which is a critical project to increase our fire power. We can also use it on the indigenous HLFT which will be developed as our 3rd stage advanced trainer along with using it as a light fighter if needed but mainly to use and practice it’s weapons in training.
Snecma m88 which is used in rafale is also 50kn dry engine with 80kn thrust with afterburner Kaveri is already has 50kn thrust so it's not that weak But amca needs 110kn engine which is kaveri 2.0@@Joker-wq7q
The F414 generates 98kn in northern cool weather. Subtract 10kn from that number to find it's actual performance in hot and humid climates. It is about 88kn which is not far from 81kn. The Kaveri 1 will match or exceed the F404 which has lower thrust.

India produces no heavy lift transport plane.
Thus nothing is available to develop as a flying engine test bed.
The IL-76 is Russia's own design.

Kaveri engine has to work. USA is still delaying the GE engines for Tejas.

Bhai pehle 45-46 kn ka dry thrust tha new version me 48kn expected tha but 52 kn ka thrust aa raha hai which is great considering its class

This dry Kaveri engine will be a 100% indigenously designed and manufactured success story for a change. We have already placed it through hours of testing on the ground in India and high altitude simulated tests in Russia which all passed.
Now we just need to vigorously test it under real life conditions on a plane in the freezing cold, wet rain, snow, ice, hot and humid weather. We will need to test its metallurgy with the newly 100% indigenously developed single crystal blade, endurance, reliability, consistency, fuel efficiency, fuel consumption rate, number of flight hours before needing to be replaced etc.
The engine can’t produce the amount of thrust we need for the Tejas MK1A jets but it can definitely produce enough for the stealth UCAV Ghatak drone which is a critical project to increase our fire power. We can also use it on the indigenous HLFT which will be developed as our 3rd stage advanced trainer along with using it as a light fighter if needed but mainly to use and practice it’s weapons in training.
80 kn me ghanta kuch hoga 😂. This is only suitable for dronrs and ucavs
Snecma m88 which is used in rafale is also 50kn dry engine with 80kn thrust with afterburner
Kaveri is already has 50kn thrust so it's not that weak
But amca needs 110kn engine which is kaveri 2.0@@Joker-wq7q

The F414 generates 98kn in northern cool weather.
Subtract 10kn from that number to find it's actual performance in hot and humid climates.
It is about 88kn which is not far from 81kn.
The Kaveri 1 will match or exceed the F404 which has lower thrust.
This is only Dry Engine test excluding hot core technology which is the main and most critical technology of Fighter jet Engine
