The Best Science-Based Leg Workout for Growth (Glutes/Quads/Hams)

  • In this video I’m going to be covering the “best” leg workout for mass and strong legs based on scientific literature and our understanding of the leg muscles. I’ll go through the most effective leg exercises that best activate the glutes, quadriceps, and hamstrings. These exercises are great for men and women, if your goal is leg hypertrophy (bigger legs) from your leg workouts. The four exercises I will discuss are the barbell back squat, front squat, Bulgarian split squat, and hip thrusts for glutes using a barbell. This combination of bilateral and unilateral leg exercises is ideal in order to add mass to the leg while correcting asymmetries that would be caused by only using bilateral exercises. Stick around until the end where I provide a full sample leg workout you guys can get started with right away.
If you guys enjoyed the video then don’t forget to give it a like, leave a comment, share it with your friends and subscribe to my channel. I really appreciate the support you’ve all shown me, it helps motivate me to continue doing this and putting out quality videos.

Marc-André Lemire When he says one set of 12-15 you think he means slightly lower weight, or he means to do that as your first set when you’re still fresh enough to crank out 12-15

Because he recommends mix of both low and high reps which usually means adjusting the weight according to your rep range I believe he intends you to do heavier lower reps sets and a lighter higher reps set.

Keep in mind, the Five stars are based on my needs for this item th-cam.com/users/postUgkxUHHotQRjIQnfuxEeVotlkHVYWH0DXZoS When I first bought the bike I was going to return it immediately. After trying it out for several days/weeks I came to realize it is actually perfect for WHY I bought it.This is not a workout, the resistance is, eh, it makes a bit of noise, not loud, and it isn’t very stable even with the mat. The mat certainly keeps the bike from sliding but nothing keeps the mat from sliding (if that makes any sense, lol). Mine is place on my hard wood floor. Maybe it would be better with a rug underneath??I sit for long hours for work and wanted something to keep my legs moving. This bike does exactly that! For the price it is amazing, it is compact, easy to use, light weight, keeps track of time, calories etc (not sure how accurate it is) but good little product. I am happy with it.

Thank you!! I’ve had a spinal fusion when I was 16 years old to correct a heavy 57 degree scoliosis curve in my spine. Years ago, because of the sensitivity of the discs below my fusion, squats hurt me bad, and my discs were herniated (even by using lighter weight) and sciatica developed which I still have today. This video is helping me to still get my legs worked out, while helping me care for my sciatica and lower back pain. I understand the value of legs from an overall growth perspective. I may never be able to do squats to the point where they make a big difference, but I’ll keep with my lighter weight and work them the best I can, while caring for my injuries. Thanks!!

I am natural and this split of mine has resulted in the best gains of my life. I hope it help
      1) Upper body (chest, back and shoulders)
      2) Lower body (legs and 2 exercises of biceps)
      3) Rest day
      4) Push (chest, shoulder and triceps)
      5) Pull day (back and 2 exercise of biceps)
      6) lower body (legs and 2 exercises for triceps)
Note: don't keep the exercises longer than 1hr 30mins if you are doing cardio, stretching and abs. Else 1 hour is an optimal time. What I tried to do is hit every muscle groups 2 times a week directly with optimal rest of 2 days. If you want the exercises that go well with this split then I can comment again :).

Personally I would say - Do a different split sometimes, keeping the same split and workout for too long will not give give you the max potential after 6-8 weeks.
I may be wrong, but this is my personal experience.

If your at a level where you need to ask it's going to be full body. maybe upper/lower. unless you do roids that is. Then you keep doing some bro split.

Kinda embarrassing but I don't know how to squat... Whenever I go down I can't help but bend my back, not keeping it straight throughout the exercise... This may be due to my flexibility but any tips on how to mend this?

    • @gymlegends7734
      @gymlegends7734 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

hey first of all its not an embarresment it happens with everyone, just focus on your hip that it goes all the way back from your rest body then you will get the results and if your flexibility is not that much good then dont go too deep take the beginner step👌🏻

@@gymlegends7734 appreciate the comment! A year in and I can squat 70kg when before I could only do 40kg... Only covid lockdowns really preventing me from doing any heavy lifting (London, UK)
