You could secure the new cover using rivnuts/nutserts, that’d give a nice tidy solution and it works well with sheet metal, you probably already know this though! The build is looking great by the way, you’re the only one out of the Florida guys who does actual fab work, you deserve way more views especially with this build

You need to do bulkhead type connectors for the engine wiring so you can disconnect the entire harness and drop the whole thing in one shot.

Mmm that adapter looks like its very well made, and the engine fits pretty nice too. changing plugs will be a bit of a hassle but thats to be expected since the original engine was a boxer.
Not a fan of using a grinder inside the car without covering/taping up all the glass.. Ive made that mistake a couple of times, I`ve had to replace most of the glass on a customers 1960s Jaguar because there was pitting everywhere after rust repairs to the floors.. and those tinted windows were a nightmare to source! (learnt my lesson the hard way, that job ended up costing more than it payed)

Yeah it was a super quick cut. The tints getting redone anyways.

@@baysidefabrication Ah didnt know it had tinted foil on the inside, that will help alot against grinding spark damage! (i wasnt that lucky, had to find all fresh undamaged blue tinted glass for a pretty low production numbers car, which ended up costing way north of $2500 and a shitload of time)

Ooof yeah that sucks. I’ve done it before too. Like I said it was a 2 second cut just to get sawzall blade into it so I wasn’t worried. Anything more and yes I would have put up a bunch of protection.

Ah, yeah, nah. A 911 is definitely life altering!! 😂👍
Send one of your fiberglass covers to Nick so he can cut up the cayman.

you can get rear panel from a c4 or gt3 and it will sit higher all you need to do is re drill all the spot welds instead of cutting it .

Both are excellent platforms. I went with k series for price and weight. Half the amount of rods, pistons, coils etc etc.

259hp isn’t exactly a powerhouse and obviously you have no idea what a turbo k24 can do.

Hey ! whats happening? I love your channel. I own a 01 996 coupe and have spent a great deal of time learning as much as I can about the 996 , DIY all the way.
I hella enjoy your passion for modification. Putting a K24 into the porsche is bad ass in my book. Screw all the purists. What stands out the most in this video, was your ideas on a access port/door so to make things a lot fucking better . For example: the GD Air Oil sept. what a fricking pain in my ass. Injectors, plugs air intake and all the GD vacuum thats up front. Ive always thought of some type of access door either on top of the rear deck or on the front angled portion of the fire wall. Seeking for some type of approval
from anyone on all the forums is useless. You know .... So anyways you have a dedicated fan than looks forward to your content. I'll share your channel on my Facebook page
Porsche 996 page . Your bad ass!

I’ve been waiting for you to do your own k build since I saw your working on FasterProms k cart. Super excited to follow along. Basically watching your channels is how this would go in my head if I did my own 911 k swap (except you are actually pulling the trigger) and I’m just dreaming. Lol

Do you think a Quaife sequential would work on this set up without using the transaxle ?

    • @baysidefabrication
      @baysidefabrication  2 ปีที่แล้ว

I don’t think you could fit a motor transversely. With its suspension setup.
