Туда могут попасть одежда или волосы и тогда будет большая беда. Поверните защитный кожух в сторону выключателя. И ещё один совет. При покупке устройств с электрообмоткой проверяйте тестером обмотки на наличие короткого замыкания или обрыва. Удачи!

Replacing both bearings and all the screws would have given the grinder a second life. But now it has an extended first life.

Love your videos, and how you’re teaching others about great trade skills. You’d be a good teacher if you gave classes.
As I watched you finish putting the covers over the grinding wheels, I noticed one thing. The first cover is on correctly. Then you installed the grinding wheel. Then when you put the 1/2 ring on, or the metal piece that looks like a 1/2 ring, you got those backwards.
You see that little flap sticking out at the top? It’s supposed to be at the bottom. So just take them off and switch them or trade sides. You have the LEFT one on the RIGHT side and vice versa. Switch those around and you’ll have that little tab on the bottom.
That tab sticks out so you can use it to lay your metal on, if you need it to support the item you’re sharpening. You may or may not use it, but at least it’s there in case you do need it. At the top it won’t do anything to help you. So just switch those out and put your outside cover on. You really did a wonderful restoration though. Looks wonderful. I’d buy it, if I didn’t already have one!
One last thing, if you can find a leather welding apron or shirt, it will come in handy to wear it while you sharpen anything. The sparks really burn holes easily in most clothing, and you have pretty blouses that could be ruined, or worse - you could get a burn on your skin. Glasses or goggles for your eyes, and leather gloves would also be a good idea, to protect yourself from injury.
I thought I was safe with an old jacket, but one day my mother asked me to sharpen her two garden hoes. They’re very old steel with welded steel handles. Handmade in Mexico many, many years ago.
I did sharpen them. However, I burned a hole right through my jacket and had a burn on my stomach. Left a small scar.
It was worth it to sharpen them though. My mother woke up a bull snake in a flower bed by my house, and it went after her. She ran to grab her hoe, which was behind the house by her pumpkin patch, where I left it for her. The snake followed her all the way there!
When my mother grabbed the hoe and turned, the snake was behind her. It stopped and coiled up, hissing, preparing to attack. Mom raised the hoe in the air. When it tried to bite her, she used the freshly sharpened hoe to chop its head off.
I came outside to see what was going on. When I saw the snake, I saw Mom also start to cry. She thanked me for having sharpened her old hoe, because it was so dull from hitting rocks, and if I hadn’t sharpened it she may not have killed it, before it bit her. We hugged because we were both grateful.
I never even mentioned the burn I got. I did buy a leather apron the next day, at Harbor Freight, which is a tool store that sells some welders and welding supplies. Now every summer, my brother and I take turns sharpening her old, steel hoes once a month, to make sure she never has a dull garden hoe. She’s in her 80’s and loves to plant a large garden, every year.
