Wow can't believe this is the first time I am seeing a review of that radio. Only ever hear about Tandem with the X18/20. You'll love the Avanti in FPV. I have used INAV in my smaller models, but for my larger FPV EDF and prop planes (V1200, Mirage, Typhoon, Avanti S) I run a HobbyEagle A3 super so I can more easily adjust gains in flight, and still manually trim my model. This has saved me on delta wings that will oscillate at high speed. A Motionsic BAG gimbal and head tracking is a great compliment to FPV as well. Since you like running 8S+, you may get more flexibility keeping battery telemetry on your radio, and keeping your VTX + FC on lower voltage. I never had success displaying battery voltage > 6S in INAV and BF. HV FCs are also hard to find.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts about that radios. I learned to fly one year ago and have a DX8 G2 radio. I was thinking sometimes to switch. Now I have a good idea since I´m also a thumber. Just the receivers of Frsky seem to be more expensive than for example LemonRX for Spektrum. And there are so many. But the telemetry as you have programmed it is super. Also this Avanti and setup!
Welcome back friend! Have you gotten the new Avanti V2 in your country yet? It is really amazing and much better than the Avanti V1. Also, where did you buy your Frsky Twin X Lite? I can not find it in the US, only Aliexpress.
The quality of frsky radios vs the radiomaster is night and day difference. My tx16 feels like a toy compared to the premium feel of the x20. Iv even converted my fpv planes and drones from crossfire to frsky 900mhz rx and the range is great.
Interesting..i only asked you few days ago to do a frsky review. I thought frsky and your horus had better reception than say spektrum and futarba ie more powerful . Do your fellow flyers fly spektrum or futarba at your field? do they have reception issues as well ? like the look of your new transmitter and how it fits in your hand..but looks a bit toyish to me and more suited to drones. Being so small i think it would take pinch grip users a lot of time to adjust.

I was just thinking of ordering a new radio for my blackhorse viper build. I’m currently leaning towards the frsky x18s.

Looking for a good 90mm edf unit for SeBart Avanti. I could also 3d the shroud you made. Let me know if it’s available.
Have you tried the Frsky X18? Its a bit bigger then the Twin X lite but it feels so much better in the hands then the Radiomaster
Its a radio for thumb fliers, pinchers won't work very well!
How long is your flight time using li-ion batteries
