    1. focus on high yielding information - learn topics that are repeated and focus on exams tht require a high score instead of pass/fail
    2. active studying techniques - dont just read and write, use active studying techs and save your time. use techniques like active recall and spaced repetition.
    3. dont multitask - reduce screen time, dont listen to music while studying.
    4. align studying with your energy levels - if you dont have the mental or physical capability to study, then fix that first - switch to a different task if you feeld bored or exhausted
    5. optimize your health- your body should be healthy. make sure to take care of yourself

      Great tips for effective studying! 🌟 Prioritizing high-yield information and using active techniques like recall and spaced repetition can make a huge difference. Keeping focus, aligning studies with energy levels, and maintaining good health are crucial. Do you have a favorite strategy or tool that helps you stay on track?

    Actually after 4 years in medical school l learned this tips but in the hard way😅,and l'd like to add that you must apply this tips and be patient to get results because watching study videos without implementation is not enough 😁

    2:26 That "free time for more study" feels like a huge fallacy tho, active study is such a pain in the ass... especially if you're interleaving. Cause it's characterized by slow short term progress and long term rewards - like months, not weeks - while the usual passive gives the sensation of comprehension fast, and you truly got it! But you were filling a bucket with holes. It will be empty really fast.
    I think being great at planning can speed things up (but can be its own nightmare, especially if you dont know how to do it. You can get into that situation where you need planning skills to study better but you need the study skills learn the planning skills!!! It's a paradox)

      AH, AND YOU SHOULD FORGET ON PURPOSE! Sounds crazy but study more can (probably will) undermine you, you need to let yourself forget and make training hard again. Of course unless you mean "study more" in the sense of not getting stuck on the same subjects for years cause you keep forgetting immediately.

    • @audientia
      @audientia 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Absolutely! Active study can be tough because it doesn't provide immediate gratification, but it's definitely worth it in the long run. 📚🔄 It's like investing in a solid foundation for lasting knowledge. Have you found any techniques to make active studying more manageable or enjoyable?

    Hey Dr. Jubal. I was really interested in going into medical school. I am 19 years old right now, and i saw these study videos about a year ago. OI didn't realize how hard this really is! It takes real discipline and dedication. Over the months, I've gotten extremely wiser. I didn't realize that you also have to study and practice and really understand to do well. I have an upcoming ACT in 19 days. I'm going to see this video one last time. P.s. you remind me of my dad. (: anyways I'm going to check this video out once more so i can be truly familiar. Thanks doc! hoping to apply again to the ba/md program. I will be going in as a sophomore in college if i were to be accepted.

    1st year here. I find that repetition is what the brain thrives on. 4-6 passes on each lecture per exam block is key. Your brain will not just memorize, but will make fluid connections due to the story that each lecture is giving you, as opposed to Anki where you memorize bits and pieces out of sequence. Also nobody is studying 4 hours a day in medical school lol.

    • @audientia
      @audientia 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Repetition is indeed a powerful tool for learning! 📚🔁 Consistently revisiting material helps to build a deeper understanding and connect concepts. It's great that you've found a method that works for you. How do you usually structure your study sessions to ensure you get those 4-6 passes in?

    Hi Dr, i’m 19 years young in a trade school institute for RMA but switching to PCT. Helping has always been my passion although i have epilepsy now and my memorization has been affecting my study skills i really want to peruse. I went to community college for 2 years wasted my time relating classes for nursing. i took a break and i started having so many other problems i couldn’t. Lost hope in myself and my career Working as as a sales person from 18-19 is draining.. I want to the best of the best so fast and that’s the problem. I been studying for 8 hours barely sleep for 3 days. That’s only how long i been for school. Point is im sorry is PCT better route to start if i want to work in the hospital and soon my goal to get as much experience and eventually become a RN or is MA more better jobs . they are both the same i need help DOC! 😢

    • @audientia
      @audientia 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's great that you're passionate about helping others! 🌟 Both PCT (Patient Care Technician) and MA (Medical Assistant) roles offer valuable hospital experience, but they have different focuses. PCTs often work more directly with patient care, which can be beneficial if you aim to become an RN.
      Given your epilepsy and the challenges you're facing, it might help to take things step by step. Prioritize your health and try not to overload yourself. Consistent, shorter study sessions with good rest can be more effective than long, exhausting ones.
      Have you spoken with advisors or mentors about your career goals? They might provide more tailored advice to help you decide which path aligns best with your aspirations and circumstances.
