Fantastic movie! Here's my verdict: Nancy was right when she said a girl is single until married. It is up to guys to do their own due diligence. George was wrong to try and spend his way into a woman's heart; 'a fool and his money are soon parted.' Not sure why Francis was so puffed up; after all, it was George who spent to set up and soften Nancy for marriage. Finally, I don't see why Nancy could not date multiple men and choose one for marriage. She wasn't living with any of them.
Yea but when u get engaged to the person isn’t that a commitment leading to marriage? It’s obvious she was using George for his money and she should never be trusted. It’s a movie in real life she would’ve lost both men.
It would not matter in the end if she lost both of them. About George's money, she never asked for it; it was more about George cleansing his soul by giving to Nancy, than the other way around. Do you know what would have happened to George if she had refused the gifts of the car & cash etc? It would have wounded George's pride. The healing came when in the end George took the car back (ostensibly to punish Nancy for unfaithfulness). The gift was a 'healing' for George and Nancy did well by accepting it. Regarding your question of commitment, There was no sealing of the relationship until marriage. Now, here's the surprise for you; do you know that even after leaving the altar, the marriage is not legally complete until the man and the woman were able to have a normal sexual intercourse as man and wife? In law, both in England and the English-speaking world and Europe, marriage is not valid unless and until it is "consummated" meaning that the man and woman have had sex. So retracing our steps, where does that leave us about "commitment" just because a ring had been produced and worn on a finger?@@ericab936

"Faithfulness" is an emotive word. If you meet someone that ticks all your boxes, fine. If, however, you wish to cast your net widely in order to find a better match, that is also fine. What is important is that a ring does not close the gate of your heart, and you must not be naive about life. Actually, I think in the movie, Nancy sold herself short by settling with Francis; love alone does not pay the bill, you know. When Adam woke up from his anaesthesia, he was attracted to Eve because she was "flesh from his flesh and bone from his bones" It wasn't about love, but recognition of identity. I am grateful to the writer (s) who took a positive approach to this movie. Rather than have the men emotionally or physically abuse the woman as so many men have done, they allowed them to show their control and handle the infidelity as mature adults. The actors used to demonstrate this maturity were excellent choices. ToothSweet, with his ability to show genuine compassion and interpret a role with perfection, the women who were supportive yet honest in their discussion. Bringing the men together to communicate rather than fight was an added bonus to show how a difficult situation could be handled positively, honestly, and maturely, putting their emotions in check. I loved this. Thank you. All of you.

If he wish to go ahead with this marriage he will have to learn to trust her and if she is serious she will know that it won't be easy to gain his trust.
