This was so cool to watch. I can feel the synergy - support from the producer and knowledgeability and performance balance from the vocalist! Fantastic production team and thanks for bringing us along!
Man this was a nice video! It is good to see the recording process of pro tools in action. The interplay between you too is hilarious and inspiring at the same time. Keep up the good work.
Blesss youuuu!! I needed this video. I've been beating myself up lately aiming to be perfect every time I record myself. This literally lifted a phat weight off my shoulders lol. Also, lemme get that template- my voice is powerful too so it'll be perfect! Thank you both!
VOCALS ARE MAD TIGHT! GREAT WORK! GREAT INPUT WAVY AND LYDIA. BOTH OF YOU ARE EXTREMELY TALENTED. GREAT ENERGY IN STUDIO FROM THE BOTH OF YOU. JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE A COUPLE DOES NOT MEAN YOU CAN WORK TOGETHER IN STUDIO HARMONIOUSLY. YOU WORK WELL TOGETHER. KEEP IT UP! GREAT LIVE TUTORIAL.
Aye Man!!! Your a Dynamic Duo!!! You guys are incredible!!! I bet it's hard to record with other people at this point!!! Because your so use to the speed you 2 work at!!!? Much Love God Bless!!! 👍🏾!!! Keep this series going!!!
Oh my gootness, I would luv to hear your voice through some of these custom gear I have in my studio. Blow as hard as you like, they want all the emotion.
This is dope! I’d love to see an in depth look at your vocal booth, the dimensions/size of it, & the acoustic treatment in there, maybe that could be a short video idea for you one day lol!
Bro I Love your Channel so much! Appreciate the information u give us for free!!! Quick question, do u think an shure sm7b is also good for recording rnb and pop vocals? Especially at home. Cause many people describe this mic as „dark“ and „flat“. Can I eq it Good?
I never look no further instead of going up it should be like going down the mountain. I never look no further should be like contemplating thinking to oneself.
How are you able to have autotune on each of your recording channels without ending up with extra latency? I usually track vocals in FL as im still learning PT, but usually I record on one channel dry, then have that running to a bus w autotune, comp eq etc. I want to have multiple record channels to make layering / tracking easier, but i'd imagine having 5 different autotunes enabled at once (even w low latency mode) id end up with 5-10ms extra latency. Would i need a particular interface / card to avoid these latency issues? I have a great cpu but just a Steinberg UR22C interface, So even if i record at 44.1k and low buffer size, having multiple instances of plugins like Autotune enabled at once would give me more than 5ms latency, and i find it hard to track when it goes above 5ms Thanks for the vid man, you help me learn Pro Tools much better than my teachers can
thanks for the video wayne great work as always. lets talk for just a second if you have time. your recording templates arent universal..i would love to try them but via your tutorial i cant due to the specs of my equipment. low letency monitoring is an issue with my setup. im unable to change my playback engines buffer size because i use aud apollo quad fw\tb3 in thunderbolt mode and is set to 512 and cant be changed if im using uad plugins in realtime i also use waves impact server for my waves plugins. so tell me how can someone with my setup be able to purchase your templates for recording and record like you are doing in this video? I use my uad plugins for recording etc but i would like to use my waves plugins also in real time.. soooo before i purchase your templates can you explain how i can make it work? thanks..
Meloydyne is more accurate and better if you want natural sounding vocal that are in tune where as auto tune is more of an effect that makes your vocals sound in tune but it also gives it a more unnatural sound
@@xander552 thank you so much. I have both but I’ve been seeing a lot singers prefer autotune more than Melodyne where is felt like Melodyne works better for me like you mentioned
I be tryna tell people I record to punch in like this but they rather try to record the song in one take 1,000 times Lol I be like fine it's yo studio time you paying for 💯 plus them punch ins help you perfect EACH line.... They think I'm just a engineer until they hear some of my music and I'm better than some them. Anybody tryna collab lmk though I produce, rap and engineer at studio here in ATL
damn man coming from a profession tracking engineer i can show u a recording method that will significantly speed your process up. Have tracked for trippie redd, swae lee, post malone etc
Hey man I just started my job at a studio as an engineer, and I'm getting my first couple sessions coming up. It's a couple trap type artist's, any tips you can give seeing you've been in the industry a while?
This how producers are suppose to be ♥️♥️♥️ in the studio make the artist feel like they’re not alone
This was so cool to watch. I can feel the synergy - support from the producer and knowledgeability and performance balance from the vocalist! Fantastic production team and thanks for bringing us along!
"Aye mane", makes my day better every time
Lydia said, “They could sing back then, too! Real good!” 💯
I was looking for this comment!
The way she stressed “Realll gooood too” was so funny but so much truth !!! Voices back then were original and cleannnn
Aww mane a prepared vocalist.... 🔥 🔥 she had timestamps to where she wanted to work from. I could appreciate that. 👏👏👏💯

Blesss youuuu!! I needed this video. I've been beating myself up lately aiming to be perfect every time I record myself. This literally lifted a phat weight off my shoulders lol. Also, lemme get that template- my voice is powerful too so it'll be perfect! Thank you both!
You are so welcome! Perfection is a myth!!! Have fun and take it as many times as you need to get it right! We’re happy to help! ❤️

I really enjoyed her singing! How can we get some vocals?
@4:25 think you said that backwards? Should be high for mixing, low for recording.
"In TH-cam land that's LONG!!!!" 😂😂😂😂 tbh the sweet vocals kept us locked in......👏🏾😂
Lydia that's my mom's name ❤✊🏾

She’s sounds good, I think if was memorize it would come out better 😎
Sweeeetness. 💪🔥👍
i think you meant latency low for recording, high for mixing right?
I never look no further instead of going up it should be like going down the mountain. I never look no further should be like contemplating thinking to oneself.
I thought your buffer rate was suppose to be low when recording, and high for mixing?
Everytime you guy are in the booth I will remember these words from wavy. ( Workin with a crazy and a baby) 😂
😂
Let’s get that template fam
dope!

What are you doing and using on the vocals I noticed when she’s not singing it’s compressed a lot (orange lines)
wats the name of the song or the spotify link
I THOUGHT FOR THE PLAYBACK IT SUPPOSE TO BE LOW FOR RECORDING HIGH FOR MIXING...BECAUSE WHEN YOU MIXING YOU USIE MORE PLUG-INS
I think he said it backwards; he made a mistake. It happens ✌🏾
🔥🔥
That was 30 min 😫 time flys 🚀

Wow that was 30 minutes i was so consumed i didnt even realize the time passing
What’s better Melodyne 5 or Autotune?

The second baby on the hook should be honey instead of baby again
I would have kepted the first part “your love is so sweet” the whole pie thing doesn’t fit the genre
WHY DONT HE JUST LET THE ARTIST SING IT ALL THE WAY THREW, HE KEEPS STOPPING AND STARTING.
