I’ve been told that I’m to young to understand and sincerely enjoy this music, but I always get reminded of the seasons when I listen to piano, it gives me the best feeling
I agree: prelude too fast. You cannot hear the subtile interchange of themes (bar 19-20 and 30-32 f.i.); fugue tempo is good. For the correct and slower tempo see Cory Hall.
Also, a bit too downbeat heavy... Bach's music lives in the weak beats. By contrast, in the fugue, McGregor pushes through the phrases seamlessly! Beautiful.
@@BachtotheBasics The downbeats aren’t heavy but the the second beat is unvaryingly strong . Without that energy the Prelude collapses but some variety of intensity may be more interesting.
The prelude is too fast - I guess it becomes an olympian contest at some point, but the nuances of the harmonies are lost, I think, at this tempo. But otherwise flawless performance!
2:36 the unity of two beautiful souls, Joanna and Johann

You can’t be too young to enjoy music like this. This is wonderful music for all ages to enjoy.
Whoever told you that is wrong. Bach can be heard and understood on many levels, and if you like it, you are doing that.

Prelude is too fast. Her rendition of the fugue, however, is sublime

La fuga esta linda... muy bella,,, me ha hecho llorar esa partecita de notas seguidas y agudas,,,,y muy lindo como toca Mac Gregor
